The Compass Rose House is one of our 2 separate vacation rental homes on over 10 acres, all with stunning Olympic Mountain views.

These secluded homes offer you a haven to explore all the diversity the Olympic Peninsula has to offer. Roam our lush lupine covered meadows, see Bald Eagles and Blue Heron and have easy access to the Olympic National Park as well as all the city amenities. This is the best of all worlds for a northwest experience.

It is very gratifying to learn how thrilled our guests are with our beautifully crafted homes and the gorgeous surroundings. Nearly every guest says our homes far exceed their expectations and they wished they had planned on staying longer. We enjoy providing our guests with local tips and advice on how to take advantage of all the incredible wonders of the Olympic Peninsula. Another beautiful stay

This was our second time staying in this home and will not be our last. It is a little slice of Heaven. Loved the visits from the deers and hares. Views in clear days cannot be beat. Super comfy beds and well stocked kitchen. Always a bonus to have laundry as well! Can’t wait to be back.

This house was above expectations, in that the location was perfect. A peaceful retreat with an amazing view. Thankful the hot tub was working and clean. The house clean warm and inviting. We burned a fire everyday. And for our family the kitchen had what we needed however the coffee k-cup didn’t work but in turn a regular Mr.Coffee worked great. And a great selection of games however we brought a couple of our own card games (Nertz and Uno No Mercy) we spent some hours playing Scrabble. Laughter and memories to treasure. Can’t wait for our next visit. Thank you

I chose this property based on the pictures and the reviews as well as the location to Hurricane Ridge, and it did not disappoint. The home was very thoughtfully appointed(fully stocked kitchen(spice rack, oils, coffee etc),outdoor towels, umbrella’s, rain ponchos, a hard sided cooler etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor space with views of the jagged edges of Hurricane Ridge, and the daily deer show parading around the yard. A couple times there was a herd of 6 deer(2 fawns), and at one point while we were in the hot tub, they came within 5 feet of us. They were not at all afraid of us.We would recommend getting up to Hurricane Ridge at 7am for no wait and quieter experience. We hiked Hurricane Hill, High Ridge to Sunrise, the Meadow Trail and the Circle Rim Trail. We saw lots of deer, and some Bear scat… found out there was a bear sighting 45 min before we arrived. Thank you to Frank, Cameron and I think it was John (that I texted about an issue with the hot tub while we were there). You were all great communicators. Blessed to have been able to have the great health to enjoy your slice of the PNW.

Restful getaway

4 of us stayed and had an amazing time. Stayed at the cabin for a long weekend and enjoyed constant soaking in the hot tub while watching the sunrise in the chilly air. The wood stove and open space made for a great atmosphere to share space together and relax.

We had a glorious 4-day stay at the Compass Rose with our family of six. Our kids loved sleeping in the loft, and we loved the privacy of the downstairs bedroom. Lots of space in the kitchen and family room. We all enjoyed the hot tub, and watching wildlife around the property. Close enough to Sequim and Port Angeles, but feels like you're in a secluded cabin. We would highly recommend the Compass Rose for families looking for a private retreat.

Olympic National Park Visit

Our family of four found the Compass Rose to be a good spot to stay while we spent several days exploring Olympic National Park. We saw deer in the yard each day and our kids really enjoyed the hot tub! This property offered a nice feeling of seclusion, and having a washer/dryer was a big plus for us.

He has been living and exploring the Olympic Peninsula and the world his whole life and is a great source of for anything you need on your next adventure

My family had a vision for over 30 years of a family compound where we could live and share a beautiful natural environment. They travelled the Pacific Rim, New Zealand and Canada in search of that place. When they found this place over 10 years ago it felt like they had found our place.

The Olympic Peninsula provides a remarkable natural beauty of almost every sort. We climb mountains and get into areas with pristine glaciers and lakes and see bear and goats and deer, and a huge variety of birds. We love to find waterfalls that few people have found and explore the rainforest mysteries summer and winter. We surf the waves as we explore the beaches which have unusual pinnacles and formations, and we collect driftwood and bask on the white sand. We take our family picnicking on the beautiful clear rivers where they often catch Steelhead or Salmon. Skiing and snowboarding and several winter sports are a big attraction. And always, we make sure visitors get into the exceptional Olympic National Park.

We take great pride in the home we offer to you with meticulous detail. I designed the Compass Rose House and my family all built it together. Some refer to it as 'elegant camping' since you feel like you are almost out of doors with the openness the home has to all the surroundings. You have all the luxuries for truly comfortable living; excellent beds and linen and great cooking facilities--even the best of organic local herbs.
Our specialty in life has been to enjoy and appreciate nature and to help others have that passion too. And that is witnessed in our lovely property and the beautiful homes we have blended with the natural environment. For those who want privacy, we provide it. For those who want a serene and restorative Northwest experience, we provide that. Our homes are surrounded by meadows, with majestic trees lining the edges and wildflowers. We have tried to make nature available and enjoyable out of every window and from every deck. Our hot tubs are outside so you can view the stars. You can see the Olympic Mountains in all their array from nearly every window. We want to touch people, to leave a lasting memory of enjoyment and rejuvenation, to have an infectious experience that compels them to want to pass on the importance of our natural resources to everyone.
