Sunnyside is one of Denver's most desirable neighborhoods, in large part due to its restaurants, bars, closeness to the downtown attractions, two minutes off both major highways, parks and more. One of my favorite things about living there has been how quiet and cozy the street is while having so much so close by, an urban oasis for your adventures.
The neighborhood has become more and more walkable and bike friendly every year with new breweries, restaurants, museums and activities added the time.
My detailed “Native” guide will highlight much of what there is to discover in the area, whether it is fine dining across the street or a street fair across town.
In fact, it only takes 20-30 minutes to walk to the heart of downtown Denver. There are bus stops a block over and the light rail (city train) station is just minutes away, Union Station is a short 6-10 minute drive, or a reasonable Lyft/Uber or bus ride.
Within walking distance from the house, there usually are bikes/scooters for rent. Lyft/Uber usually costs seven to ten dollars to the city center.
If you are flying in, take the light rail to Union Station and a Lyft to the house or continue on the light rail to a stop close to the house and walk, this makes for super easy, affordable, and convenient travel to and from the airport.
Going to the airport the light rail drops you essentially in front of security, very convenient. There is also a light rail station at 41st and Fox that is about a half-mile walk from the house that goes to multiple destinations including union station and from there the airport.
