Perfect

The house is very clean and accommodating. Every question that i had was answered quickly. The hosts were generous with supplies. The coffee bar was a welcome surprise. It was the ideal place for us to spend time with family, but close to Durham where we enjoyed a sports event. We will definitely rent again if we venture that way

Visit to daughter at UNC

What a cute and well put together home! We enjoyed how the originality of the home showed through with well appointed decor. It was cozy and had everything we needed plus more. It was great to have access to a BBQ and patio! The beds were very comfortable as well.

Nice little cozy place to stay

Cozy little place for my family and I to stay in while in North Carolina. We traveled from Kentucky to watch the Tarheels play basketball. Clean place easy to communicate with.

Accurate listing. Kitchen well-equipped for cooking. Lots of space. Quiet neighbourhood. The larger beds are comfortable. All in all a good experience. We have booked to return.

Excellent stay in a central location!

Fantastic home centrally located to everything we wanted to see. We had an unforeseen tree branch knock out the power but we had excellent communication with the owner who always let us know what was going on. Despite the disappointing football game from the Tar Heels, this VRBO helped make trip great.

Cute & Comfortable

We only stayed one night but found the home to be very comfortable. Loved the chalkboard wall in the kitchen! Beds were comfortable and home was stocked with all the essentials.

Wonderful home with nice and cozy touches

The home is centrally located between Chapel Hill and Durham which made it convenient to visit colleges. Each space was nicely decorated and made us feel at home. Check in was perfect and had no issues at all during our stay. My only observation was the remote for the Furestick in main room wasn’t workinh but we just used our app on iphone. Great stay and would saty again

Perfect for a quick stop!

Everything was clean, it was in a quiet neighborhood and was close to parks for the kids. Krista goes above and beyond in providing things you might need (i.e. the kitchen has all the basics, the bathrooms had little extras) and the neighbors were friendly. During our stay we also enjoyed exploring the Durham farmers market - definitely worth a stop!

Home base in Raleigh/Durham

We had a great week visiting friends and family in the Raleigh/Durham area! The location was central and convenient. Communication with the host was prompt and helpful, and they went out of their way to set up a travel crib for our toddler which was a huge help since we had a late night arrival. The house was spacious and well appointed, with thorough information and instructions for guests. Highly recommend Hollyhock House for anyone traveling to this area!

Great Location

Quiet, convenient neighborhood location. The house was comfortable, the kitchen was perfect for cooking meals, and the dining room was a great spot for playing games with our family. We enjoyed the electric fireplace and the lighted Christmas tree! The house worked well for people like me with fragrance sensitivities. Definitely a place to come back to.

Cozy and quaint

Krista was very good with communication even when we lost power from rain storm. She had back up flashlight on site which cane handy. Lots of supplies (towels, soaps, detergent and dishes). Since surrounded by lots of trees and greenery, we had daily visits from critters in the kitchen despite keeping food sealed away. Not sure there is a remedy for that due to location surroundings but overall good stay.

Great Location

Property was clean and had many little amenities that were nice to have upon arriving. We found the house because we were coming into town for UNC Women’s and Men’s lacrosse games. Unfortunately we did not last long at the games because it was pouring. So we spent much of our time in the house. The beds were very comfortable and the space was plenty big enough for four adults and four teenage girls. Krista was very quick to respond to any questions we posed. The internet could have been a little stronger since we were stuck in the house most of the weekend but hopefully that doesn’t happen often to people coming into town and staying and then the Wi-Fi would be adequate. Plenty of towels and bedding were provided and it was nice to have a washer and dryer since we were soaked when we arrived.

Charming Home away from Home for Christmas

We stayed at this property from Dec 23 to Dec 27, so it was a central part in our family Christmas. The owner left a decorated Christmas tree and some other Christmas decorations for us. We had 1 and 4 year olds with us and the owner left a high chair of the one and a bathroom "step" for the other which were very useful and a nice gesture. You expect a Vrbo house to have the spaces and amenities described (and this one did) but the owners thoughtfulness in these extras shows true hospitality. The place was sized as advertised and we had ample room for the 6 people staying here. And we had 11 at our main Christmas celebration. This was very thoughtful by the owner and my family is very grateful for these kindnesses that were not required but showed true hospitality. The house provided reasonable furnishings, plenty of linens and adequate kitchen set-up. All the appliances worked, It's in an unusual development but we had no noise problems or any disruptions from neighbors. In short, the property provided what we needed and more for our family Christmas celebration and we are enormously grateful for that. Highly recommended for parties of 6 needing a week or a few days in Durham/Chapel Hill. We'll try to rent it again the next Christmas (or some other trip) we are in Durham.
