Über den Gastgeber
Zu Gast bei Tomislav Pavlečić
I am Tomislav. Born in Zagreab, raised in Croatia. Turopolje, Velika Gorica, Zagreb. I visited more than 25 countres. Journalist with a diploma from University of Zagreb. In my 20s I visited more than 25 countries. I decided with my mother and father to build a hut oon top of the hill in a village where I lived as a kid. I then planted a berry garden. I went in a monk mode for years and wanted to have a place to go out of town. With the help of my family we built in 10 years a nice nature retreat. I am a male and married to my female wife as a Catholic Christian.
I am interested in saving what I can at least in my backyard and my village. Grow fruits, talk to and admire trees. I am Aquarius so you never know what's next with me but I define myself as a lover of nature, protector of trees and humanitarian, introverted and concise.
I love working with digital technologies and spiritual work, hoping to make world a better place.
I discovered through now 9 years of hosting travelers around the globe, that I enjoy meeting new people and providing them safe and comfy space.
I have my quirks. I do not like broccoli, kale, and caliuflower. I enjoy good wine, steak and pasta. Bacon and eggs and beans for the win!
Heterogenity of humanity and our good and bad days is just that. In every guest I see the best and will do my best so you can unwind and enjoybour hilltop estate where the mystical winds blow.

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft
I was born in Zagreb. Raised in Vukomerić. It's the land of my holy pre ancestors and I feel a sense of duty to preserve, protect and take care of it. Scenery is calm, all is slow, no hush, no rush. I call it "slow tourism". By moving and looking slow, nature will talk to you. In Croatia we have motto "pomalo" which means "take it easy" or "take it slow".
From our estate you can see Petrova Gora. A sacred mountain where last Croatian king Petar Snačić lost a battle. Since then Croatia was notbindependent until August 1995 when the horrible war was won. So now Croatia is independent republic with a happy future I hope.
This year 2025 is 1100th anniversary year when king Tomislav by the decree of Pope was granted Croatian Kingdom. King Tomislav was our first king and you can see the statue of King Tomislav in Zagreb across the Main Railway Station (Glavni Kolodvor).
Talking about the old lore or folklore, you will need to book and explore the area. Mindfully, with high eco standard.

Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig
"Hiža" or cottage is a Croatian noun that refers to specific way of how old and how built it was. Only generation ago, family of 10 lived in 30m sq space. With a mirror and a wood stove. We left it it was. There was no running water, electric power was not yet introduced. People lived almost as it was ages ago. "Hiža Barbara" is more than 100 years old from the superb Oak. Quercus Ilex. It was the main resource back then.
Now "Hiža Barbara" serves as an outdoor bedroom, or lounge orbworking space.
The other tiny house is "Vlado". It is made from fir tree with high roof and many utilities.
For the hot summer months there is a 2019 made pavillion crafted by Turopolje master woodworkers. It has a huge and sturdy oak table with a calming forest and garden view. It's super great for providing shade in hot summer months and construction is unique.
There is also a hammock, a bubble bath beneath the pavillion roof so it is a wooden complex that stands on it own.
There is also a old village well for fresh water.
This is unique setup as it contains all the perfections and imperfections of Turopolje. An old land where sacred animal Tur once walked..
