We do have a microwave, oven, and water boiler in the back patio for our lovely guests to use. To prevent hazardous situations, we have placed those appliances in the back patio. There is also a sink, along with disposable items (bowls, spoons, forks, etc.) in the glass cabinet for guests to use as well. Thank you for confirming there were no problems at all during your stay with us other than the fireworks on July 4th, which was totally beyond the host’s control. Our dogs were also scared but we could not do anything as the neighbors were celebrating and observing the Independence Day. We believe it is like that everywhere on that day. Despite guest has 2.5 star ratings (with only email verified), we proceeded to give this guest a chance, which we deeply regretted it. This guest requested to stay at the property due to her home being renovated. She has four dogs and usually we would not allow many dogs but we did so because we are pet lovers. At first guests did not want to pay for the requested pet fee until the day prior to arrival due to credit card issues. This appears to be the initial red flag. We always replied immediately based on our reviews from other guests. When the guests arrived, they spoke to our current tenants who do not speak English but they were nice and able to give them instructions to the private entrance. This guest checked in and asked if they were allowed to utilize the outdoor patio and also the outdoor heaters while letting the dogs roam around. We replied back saying that they could definitely do all the aforementioned except for the outdoor heaters due to hazardous reasons. She did not respond until later when she inquired about the made-up non-functional heater in the room. We have 2 heaters in the room. One is under the TV with a plug and the other mounted to the wall. We immediately responded stating that perhaps it was due to the AC not plugged in (if she inquired about that one) or there was a selection on the remote control (switch to Heater mode) she had to click (if she inquired about this one), which could be done very quickly. Such information had already been given prior to her arrival. However, she did not respond back and left the property without notifying us or gave us a chance to check. Until we got a call from Vrbo mangement, we went to the room and check to find out that heater #1 was indeed plugged in property and the remote control for heater #2 indeed worked perfectly. Therefore, we did not understand why they still left without no readily apparent explanation. She complained to Vrbo that they had to leave because the baby that she had could not stand the cold, which is definitely false because she did not have any babies checked in. It appears that she may have told lies so she could get a refund back, which makes us think that she may be a possible fraudster and a refund hunter, given her relatively low ratings. She asked Vrbo to tell us to waive the first night and wanted to come back. Due to our security and safety concerns and based on the lies she told, we were extremely nervous and felt there may be life-endangerment and therefore, Vrbo advised us to cancel the booking. We ultimately provided her a full refund including the pet fee and cleaning fee. She was asking for the service fee refund, which was not paid to us, but Vrbo so she seemed to have made up lies stating we did not provide her the refund of pet and cleaning fees. This guest appears the most nerve-wrecking and possibly fraudulent guest that we had ever encountered. We did even provide dog bowls and water because we are pet lovers too. However, we should have trusted our instincts before letting this guest book. We had lost profits as we could have rented to better and honest guests. We always strive to do our best to accommodate our lovely guests. But this incident is truly heartbreaking. To all other hosts, please kindly beware of this possible frauster and liar. We have evidence to substantiate our aforementioned observations.
