Our home is within walking distance of the MN State Fairgrounds and Como Park! Perfect if you are a fan of the fair or have a wedding/event at the Como Conservatory.
This space doubles as a photography studio and has tons of natural light as well as surfaces/backgrounds for all your photo needs.
Each room has a different theme, and we highly recommend taking a soak in the clawfoot tub.
This home was built in 1900, so it has the old charm and woodwork, but AC/Heat and modern amenities.
The space
Enter through the front door and lounge in the SKY Chair or on the vintage couch on our 3 season porch. When you head inside, the living room/dining room will be to your left, the kitchen will be straight ahead.
The living room has a couch, 2 chairs, an electric fireplace, and a TV. We've stocked some games and coloring books for your enjoyment as well.
The dining room can double as a great meeting space. There's a desk with wireless charging, a "marble" table to enjoy your meals and cocktails, and access to the deck through the big bay doors.
You can enjoy your coffee and look at the window from the breakfast nook or sit at the kitchen island.
Upstairs there are three bedrooms with different themes. The "Dark" room has warm brown tones with a skylight and a modern chandelier. It's the biggest of the three rooms and has a queen memory foam mattress.
The "White" room is boho-themed with cream-colored bedding and crouched art. The walk-in closet has extra pillows and lots of room to store your things. The decorative bedframe holds a queen memory foam mattress.
The "Bold" room has a full bed and a velvet chaize lounge. The pops of color and textures are fun and playful.
You can park in the street with ease or in the driveway at the back of the home which you can access from the alley.
Notes for parents with kids:
We would like to think our home is accessible for children. We have an infant of our own and have the following supplies for those under 2 stored in the closet of the "Bold" room (the one with the teal velvet curtains).
- Pack and Play
- Books
- A few toys
- Bouncy Chair
There is kid-friendly shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the bathroom and a kid towel as well.
There are some sharp corners in the home, and we have not child-proofed the house. But in the kitchen cupboard above the stove, we do have childproofing supplies like socket covers, corner covers, and stove covers for you to use.
In the desk, there are coloring books and other creative supplies.
If you need a high chair or other supplies, please send us a message before your stay so we can stock them for you!
TV: It is a ROKU TV, please add and remove your own accounts. Xfinity Plus is also available for all guests. Remotes are in the TV stand. More instructions are in the back of the manual.
Extra batteries:
We use rechargeable batteries. Batteries and charger are in the desk in the dining area.
Cleaning supplies:
All cleaning supplies can be found under the sink (if you have children, we moved these to a higher cabinet).
The clear bottle has an environmentally safe, non-toxic, cleaning formula in it for all surfaces.
Norwex microfiber cloths can be found in the drawer. The “Enviro” cloth is for all surfaces. The Window cloth is for windows. The Stainless steel is for stainless steel.
Guest access
Entire home except for the basement.
Other things to note
During the weekdays, our basement is home to a t-shirt production company. They have their own entrance and will not disturb your space.
