Welcome to Crooked Moose Cabin! Views directly into Glacier National Park! Rustic and gorgeous. Enjoy extreme privacy just 19 miles from the West entrance of Glacier National Park. The spacious cabin is only 8 miles from Isaak Walton Inn.

The cabin and its nearly 3000 square feet have been completely renovated. Enjoy the outdoor spaces, gourmet kitchen and beautiful finishes throughout.

Each of the 3 levels have 2 bedrooms and a living area. There is privacy when you need it, but still a great large group feel.

Now remember, it’s in the woods. There is a chance for pesky mosquitoes or flies depending on the spring. Also, there is wildlife that occasionally wanders near the cabin. Just enjoy the animals from afar. They aren’t looking for snacks or petting.

Extended family vacation

Our entire family of 12 people stayed for 6 days. We had a great time hiking, boating and being together. The house was great and we enjoyed fires each night as well as games.

Incredible Property

This is an incredibly property! We were a group of 9 and had plenty of room. The property is thoughtfully and beautifully decorated with everything we needed and with easy access to Glacier National Park where we spent our days.

Wonderful Stay

We were two families that came together for the weekend at this beautiful and well thought of vacation home. The kitchen and grilling area had all we needed to make our meals. The home was very cozy and there were blankets everywhere for the chilly evenings. The home sits outside of Glacier with beautiful views of the mountains and stars at night.

The best spot for a family visiting Glacier!

We had three families staying here and everyone loved it!! All the couples had a double bed room and the kids each had a bed. The bunks in the basement are actually full size so they fit two kids on each, no problem. The back porch was our favorite spot for meals and coffee. The house is 30 minutes from glaciers west entrance. Kitchen has everything you could possibly need - even a roasting pan and cookie cutters! We had an issue with the ice maker in the freezer not working so water wouldn’t dispense and the ice was puny (I think it has been ongoing as there was a bag of ice in it when we arrived) but the hosts were responsive and said it would be fixed soon. We had kids age 10-19 there and they all enjoyed the time there. The only two things that would have made it perfect would be an added half bath (two bathrooms for 14 was challenging!) and a hot tub for our sore hiked out bodies! Highly recommend this gem for your Glacier getaway!

Glorious gathering and event for family of 15!

+ With several of my adult children and their kids, we had a fine week at this beautiful property. Everything was comfortable and wonderful. The highlights of the week were not just having coffee together on the deck in the morning or having some family musicians make some good vibes, but my grandson proposed marriage to his beloved (who had accompanied us) while at the zenith of the Red Tram Tour on the Going to the Sun Road; she accepted his humble proposal and proffered ring. We bought a couple of bottles of champagne and toasted them that very evening. A couple of curious humming birds checked us out every morning, and we fought off the mosquitos, which also checked us out hungrily, but the owner kindly provided citron candles and tiki torches about the deck and we drove back the "Montana air force" most evenings. There could not have been a better place for our family's happy homecoming every day, after the recreational fun of hiking, kayaking, swimming and seeking huckleberry ice cream. I am myself both elderly and handicapped, but my family promised to get me up and down the stairs to the house and, once there, all my needs were met -- bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room and entrances to the decks were all manageable (I use a walker/cane, but not a wheelchair). The property is nearby creeks and hiking trails. The cabin has 2 neighbors (1 across the street and 1 down the road). It is extremely private and secluded. The cabin has been completely remodeled. Everything is new from the silverware, sheets, mattresses, and everything else! There is a deck on 2 sides of the cabin and an additional entry/porch to the kitchen. The main level of the cabin has 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath. There is a living area, dining room, and modern kitchen. The lower level includes 2 additional rooms and 1 full bath. There is another living area down here for games and relaxation. The top level includes a bedroom and a loft with additional "hang-out" space.

The cabin has plenty of room for large families but also some nice space for isolation if needed. We know you will be relaxed and find peace out in Essex!

There is plenty of parking at the cabin. There is room for several vehicles to park, and some room for a trailer/tow behind. There is not a paved driveway, but just an area maintained for parking.
