A native Louisianan and now longtime Coloradoan, my husband and I have a many-years-long love affair with New Orleans, our second city. We love our home in New Orleans and also love that we're able to share it with a select few others for longer term rentals here and there.
Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft
The Bywater neighborhood - oftentimes grouped together with the Marigny neighborhood as one - is one of the oldest in the city with beautiful, quaint and historic homes all around. The neighborhood had a revival after Hurricane Katrina and the mix of old and new blends all the personality and charm that make New Orleans so special. The famed Bywater Bakery is a short one block from our front door and is a favorite neighborhood gathering place. Bacchanal, N7, Nina Compton’s Bywater American Bistro, Melba’s Po’boys, Paladar 511, Vaughan’s, Mimi’s, The Franklin, The Joint BBQ, Bratz Y’all, Bywater Brewery…the list of walkable and unforgettable places to eat, drink, socialize, listen to music, and make memories (and lifelong new friends) is never ending. A really fun little extra is The Country Club. Not a true country club, better than, with a stunning courtyard pool that you can lounge at, party at, read/sunbathe/people-watch next to for a small fee. Crescent Park entrance is three blocks from our front door and has the most incredible view of the Mississippi River and of the city. It’s also the perfect place to stroll with your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Our house is a five minute drive or twenty minute walk to the French Quarter where even more adventure awaits! A quick drive up Esplanade Ave brings you to the gorgeous City Park, with botanical gardens, putt-putt golf, paddle boats, a sculpture garden, running trails and more. Or take a breezy ride on the St. Charles Street Car to see the mansions of The Garden District, antique shop on Magazine Street, or gaze in awe and the hundreds year old oak trees in Audubon Park. This city will always enchant you with every visit, and Mabel Jane House will be your perfect place to call home while you sink into New Orleans.
Das macht diese Unterkunft einzigartig
Clawfoot tub in the larger bathroom. Sweet hanging bed in the back yard. Across from the Bywater Art Park so a nice and open view from the front porch. The best neighbors in the best neighborhood. Very new furnishings throughout, including mattresses. Four new Electra cruisers with the best locks money can buy. A full bar and a kitchen stocked for a chef. Tastefully decorated with beautiful art. Mabel Jane is really a gem and not like most rentals you'll have stayed in previously, at least we think so (and we do stay in a lot of rentals). She's our home, so she really feels like a home.
