Queen and Duke Cottage: The perfect country retreat. Located on 20 acres just north of Decatur, Texas ( (5536 US-287, Alvord, TX 76225, USA), this ranch home is a relaxing getaway, for you, friends, and family.

This property is ideal for a weekend or a weeklong escape. Being 45 minutes from Fort worth, and an hour away from Dallas, this ranch is easily accessible. Swim in the pool, watch wild animals, or just relax from the comfort of this beautiful country cottage.

We loved our stay …….talk about a fun house …….the pool was delightful…….the BBQ by the pool , was so useful .The house is huge …….lots of room to spread out and have family time and private time……the house was very clean and well organized .The location of the house , by a major highway , was so helpful .Lot’s of good aspects for family enjoyment at this lovely house ……and it’s private with a very clean pool for outdoor fun !Matteo The house has a long driveway and locking gate , so it’s private with no neighbors .

This is our thrid summer spent here! We love coming back to this house to visit our family back in Texas. Theres always great communication with the host! The kids enjoy the pool very much. We enjoy the kitchen space. As well as rooms for the kids.

Beautiful property!

The house was beautiful with large rooms and adequate space for a family gathering. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. The only issues we had were that the extra shower and sink in the half bath had very little water pressure and there were only 3 forks in the house. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay very much and will probably visit again.

Son's 1st Birthday Went Perfect

We booked this location to celebrate our son's first birthday. The house and pool is amazing, a well as the property. It was big enough to hold the party for everyone, the pool was great and temperature warm, and everything went smoothly. The host was responsive and up front about every detail that made the process easy and stress free. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

We have stayed at this home several times and love it Location is off the road in an extremely private area. The house is large and beautiful. It is extremely clean and has everything you need. The outdoor area around the pool is shaded We stayed in the pool for hours each day. It was sparkling clean. We will continue to use this house in the future!

This is a beautiful home in a country setting. Very roomy with comfortable beds and extremely clean.The large bedroom suite is stunning. I’m we had a small gathering one evening and the host offered to set up tables and chairs for us The pool area and outdoor kitchen tea is very nice with lots of room and there is also a fire pit area with chairs. Will be back again!

Absolutely Fantastic

The property was exactly what I was looking for: lots of space, secluded, quiet, and a fantastic pool. The host was extremely communicative and responded to any questions I had immediately. Also, unlike most places I have stayed there wasn’t a whole list of things to do at check out. The only minor complaint is that there was a shortage of silverware.

Better than what's picture.

The house was perfect for our family of 12. Had looked around for a house that would let us all stay together. The host was very nice and accommodated us. He was also very responsive and helpful. Do wish there where more kicthen utensils and more pots and pans as well as a mini leaf blower to blow the leaves off the pool area. Other than that the stay was perfect! We will definitely book again.

Second stay - great place!

This was our second year to vacation here and it was just as good as the first! The property is clean and spacious, and the property manager is very nice to work with. We like the location because it is private, yet it does not feel like you are completely away from humanity altogether since the highway is nearby. We find the highway noise somewhat comforting, but there are no neighbors right next to you while you're enjoying the pool or cooking out. For us, that is a perfect combination. It is in the country so we did see a few bugs, but that is to be expected and especially in the heat of the summer. The pool was clean and it is a good size for floating and throwing pool toys around. We enjoyed our stay here and may even look to return next year!

Fathers Day Getaway

It is not often my husband I have time to relax, especially together. We both work long hours, 6 days a week, as do our children. This makes family time very difficult, especially being miles from each other. We invited the kids out for dinner and a swim. Everyone was smiling and laughing the entire time.
