Enjoy stunning views of Sitka's Thompson Harbor and Mt. Edgecumbe in this waterfront house.

Recently remodeled, the Hughes House offers great views of Sitka's ocean and mountains from almost every room. Fully equipped with a spacious kitchen, laundry unit, and a large yard great for gatherings or a bonfire by the ocean.

The main floor offers 3 bedrooms. The bed set up is as follows: one room with two twin beds, a queen bed in the second and a queen bed in the third bedroom as well. The main floor sleeps up to 6 guests. There is one full bathroom and one half bathroom for guests to use. The rental also boosts a large kitchen, living room and a TV room.

Guests renting the house will have access to the laundry facilities located in the basement.

Great Memories

My family and I enjoyed a lovely 5 day stay visiting the sites of Sitka. The Hughes house was a highlight … mornings watching the ocean out the kitchen window and eagles flying by was special. Close to a grocery store and downtown nearby made for easy visiting of the Sitka activities. Wonderful memories of our stay at Hughes home!

Sitka family vacation

We loved the house and area. Our family did not rent a car which was fine for us but you have to be willing to walk because town was about a mile and a quarter from town. One day we rented bikes and scooters. Very fun. Would recommend this house and area to all interested in the outdoors

Hi George, Thanks for the review. The house is 5 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, that is correct. In the description it clearly states the pricing structure and to add the lower level it's an extra fee. I'm sorry you missed reading those details. We also sent out an email after your booking was received to remind you how the pricing structure works and to ask if you'd like to add the lower level. It's definielty important to read house descriptions so important details like this don't get missed.

Thank you for the binoculars as well. It made it easy to look at the wild life, boats and mountains up close. My husband walked down the road to watch a high school baseball game in the rain, which normally does not happen in most places in the lower 48. It was a great time for all. Yes, everything worked.

Great house!

Great house, very clean and well appointed. This advertisement is actually for a 3 bedroom 1.5 bath house. not a a 5 bedroom 2.5 bath. There is an additional charge which opens more rooms and an additional bathroom for you. Host was unwilling to open the rest of the home to us after arrival, even though we were willing to pay the additional fee to accommodate our large group. As a result, we were somewhat cramped and had to have one guest sleep on the couch. I would recommend the house, but the listing is misleading.
