We had a very good stay at this cozy cottage in Montana. The setting is beautiful, and we especially enjoyed seeing deer and wild turkeys each morning—a real treat. The hosts were responsive and helpful throughout our stay, and the one-bedroom space was immaculate and well-equipped with everything we needed. The drive to the property is scenic and peaceful, though it does involve a stretch of two-lane rural roads that feel a bit long if you're coming and going frequently. While the listing describes the cottage as “cozy, romantic, and private,” we found it to be cozy and well cared for, but not truly private. The house sits just a few feet from the hosts’ residence, and the bathroom window opens to their balcony. Though the hosts were considerate, activity near the cottage—including outdoor work and some smoke from burning—impacted our ability to fully relax on the patio and lawn by the creek.Overall, it’s a lovely spot with many positives, especially for travelers who don’t mind a shared space feel. With a clearer description of the setting, it would better match guests’ expectations.
