Tolles Haus mit super Aussicht

Sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Haus mit super Ausblick auf den Regenwald und die Berge. Peter und seine Frau sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die 3-stĂŒndige Wanderung mit Peter war sehr interessant. Das Haus liegt total im GrĂŒnen mit tollen Pflanzen rundum. FĂŒr Naturliebhaber sehr zu empfehlen.

Wir lieben diese Villa

Eines vorneweg, obwohl wir bereits viele HĂ€user rund um den Globus und auch in Costa Rica gemietet haben, hat uns die Villa Light of Dawn doch so begeistert, dass wir diese auf unserer erneuten Rundreise durch Costa Rica nur 6 Monate spĂ€ter nochmals mit eingebunden haben. Die abgeschiedene Lage tief im Dschungel, die QualitĂ€t und Ausstattung des Objektes, die liebevollen Ausstattungsdetails und Blumenarrangements von Deborah, die umgebenden GerĂ€usche und Tiere, die Wandermöglichkeiten zum eigenen Fluss und Wasserfall vor der HaustĂŒr strahlen einen wirklichen Zauber aus und haben uns zutiefst beeindruckt. Der lange Rundgang mit Peter durch seinen Jungel war klasse. Voller Begeisterung prĂ€sentiert er unglaublich viele interessante Informationen ĂŒber die dortige Flora und Fauna, deren Schutz er sich zur Aufgabe gemacht hat. Das Palmen ĂŒber Wege wandern können wussten wir bis dahin nicht :-) Mit Worten kann man die Magie dieses Ortes, die abendlichen GerĂ€usche und das morgige Erwachen nicht wiedergeben. Deswegen sind wir schon in einer Woche wieder dort :-) Liebe GrĂŒĂŸe an Deborah und Peter. Pura Vida!

Super attentive host, high level of communication. Home is beautiful and tropical in the middle of the rainforest! Driving up at night was VERY scary, we recommend a 4x4, but once we drove back down in the morning it wasn't so bad. This home is deep in the forest, be ready for an off road experience! Home and property is worth it! Especially for a large family/ group. We saw more critters and birds there than in some parks. 100% recommend this place for an unforgettable stay.

This house in the jungle was a highlight of our tour throughout the country. It was more than just a home we stayed at- it was a jungle experience. We loved the private waterfall and the tour through the property. We ended up canceling our plans one day to hang out more there on the property. The host and guide were wonderful to work with.

I found this property when I was looking for something in Quepos, but this property is definitely not located there. If you are looking for a private getaway in the mountain rainforest then this is the location you’ve dreamed about. It is secluded and quite, except for the sound of the river rushing in the distance and the birds and frogs chirping all around. The property and JosĂ© are the shining star of our entire stay. I haven’t mentioned the private waterfall a short hike from the home. All of our plans changed when we were taken to this hidden gem. We decided to avoid the crowded beaches in Manual Antonio and busy traffic because we could swim in a waterfall with no one else around. As for the home, it is a bit like staying at your grandparents house. A thoughtful home that is open to the surrounding beauty with screened walls and many little nooks to sit and relax in. It is comfortable you have all you need including a washer AND dryer. The host will make sure you have all of the information you need to get to the home and ensures you are happy throughout the stay. We did have Cleo cook for us our last night there and I wish we would have had her cook for us more often. The food was delicious I did not have to clean the kitchen afterwards (she left it spotless) and it cost us less than going out to eat at a restaurant.I will plan to return to this home again in the future. It is a must if you want piece and quite in beautiful surroundings.

Perfect jungle property

Stayed with family for 5 nights and didn’t want to leave. Property is very isolated and in the thick of the rainforest which is just what we were looking for. Wake up to birds chirping and the distant sound of the river flowing nearby. Deborah/owner was awesome and so was Jose. Would love to come back some day.

Amazing experience in the rain forest!

This property is truly a gem nestled in the rain forest and was a serene experience. You literally have the jungle to yourself. Deborah was great and made sure we had what we needed for our stay. Jose was also amazing and gave us a guided tour of the property and we swam in the waterfall. If you want privacy and an authentic rain forest experience, this is it. I'd love to go back and spend more time there exploring and taking it all in.

Wonderful Stay in the Rainforest

I’m still blown away by the beauty of the property! After experiencing the busyness of the beach area, this more remote location was definitely our preference. There are beautiful hikes on the property, and the bonus was the waterfall/swimming hole. We enjoyed an evening hike with Jose who knew so much about the plants and animals native to Costa Rica. Our tour with Jose was a highlight! It is a good 15-20 minute drive on rough terrain but well worth the views from the house. And Deborah was so incredibly helpful with planning excursions.She made that entire process very easy.

Amazing stay with incredibly helpful hosts

We love to hike and this place has great trails and hikes. The nearby river is gorgeous and the trees and flowers are spectacular. Jose’s night hike was a lot of fun for the whole family. We’ve rented a hundred vacation homes and Pete and Deborah were the most communicative and helpful of any place we’ve stayed. The house is beautiful and clean. It can get a little hot at night in the rooms but they supply lots of fans which work well. We loved everything about our stay..

Wonderful Rainforest Experience

Our three night stay at this private retreat was a wonderful introduction to Costa Rica. Even before we arrived, the hosts were very communicative and offered to coordinate an array of activities to enhance our trip, including a dinner made on site by a local chef and a fantastic ziplining adventure. By the time we arrived, it felt like we already knew Peter and Deborah. The well-equipped, spacious home is situated in the midst of the rainforest and offers lovely views and sounds of the jungle from every angle including two large balconies off the upper bedrooms. Our family of seven adults had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy every corner of this lovely home that was kindly filled with tropical flower arrangements from the property's gardens. We enjoyed both a night tour of the rain forest and a morning tour of the spectacular property (two very different experiences) that culminated in a swim at the beautiful waterfall. Our guide, Jose, was fantastic and taught us so much about the rainforest. We were also free to explore the property and visit the waterfall on our own. We were so happy to have this authentic rainforest experience and hope to one day return.

The Best

The hosts were very friendly and very accommodating. They were always available to answer questions, or offer suggestions for activities in the area. The house is large and open, surrounded by acres of rainforest beauty. We were treated to a guided walk-around tour of the area. Our guide, Jose, was great. The house was filled with exotic flower arrangements from the property. We highly recommend this VRBO house and hosts. They made our first visit to Costa Rica amazing and memorable.

Serene rainforest getaway

It was refreshing to be in the middle of a rainforest with all its magical nature (cicada, birds, rain) plus a private waterfall/river area to explore. We had moments to experience--sun times, pouring rain, guided night walk, self guided explore thru the land and to the river . Big pluses; Deb so kindly helped with driving arrangements to/from house. She also arranged the night walk with Jose that was a highlight.The washer and dryer with detergent was a lifesaver after being in Costa Rica for 2 weeks. A full kitchen with some basics stocked. There was plenty of space with two large upstairs bedrooms and a third on the main floor. Lots of nooks and crannies to read a book, play games or just enjoy the rainforest view.Things to consider: -the house is a ways from stores/restaurants so bring food needed while you're there. If you have a car it makes it easier. We stayed 2 days without car. -bumpy unpaved road part of experience to there-the house is not new construction, so has some quirks that add to its custom charm. The floors are creaky, making it hard to sneak up the stairs without anyone knowing you're coming. The electricity flickered when we had a rainstorm, but came back within seconds. Plenty of eclectic decorations, towels, and warm showers. The house feels completely safe in its privacy and Deb responded within moments when we reached out. We agreed we'd stay here again as the experience you get is peacefully unlike any other you will find in CR.

Incredible, Breathtaking, Spectacular Stay

First of all, the host will literally do anything for you to help make your stay amazing! Very communicative. Her grounds keeper Jose, of this 230 acre dream gave us a three hour tour which we recommend. This was our first time to Costa Rica and this beautiful place should be a place you should consider. Very remote. We rented a truck w/ 4 wheel drive. Something you would feel more comfortable making the trek on the stunning switchback dirt roads. The jaw-dropping hike to the water fall is something we will never forget! So many wondrous sounds off in the jungle and right outside your door! Hummingbirds everywhere, butterflies, and so many creatures
it will amaze you! There’s everything you need there to cook. Make sure to get the Lozano Salsa Sauce- so delicious! Don’t pass this gem up! You’ll take the most stunning pictures There!

Wonderful Quiet Retreat

Our only regret is not having enough time to thoroughly enjoy the grounds and waterfalls. We were here for two nights, and I wish we had longer. It was a peaceful home that brought the outdoors inside, and Deborah was an amazing host. We will def be back the next time we are in Costa Rica :)

Wonderful experience

Fantastic property! The host is fantastic! They organized many activities for our family. They also were in contact almost every day to help out and answer questions. The on property waterfall was a hit with the kids and we went there several times. We saw tons of wildlife just outside, monkeys, frogs, birds, even wild horses! Definitely will want 4 wheel drive, this place is in the jungle.

Rainforest Retreat

This was the perfect place for our family. We wish we could have stayed and enjoyed the property longer. Our host was fantastic and attentive. Her employees were the best. We loved the hikes we did on the property and the swim in the waterfall. We also did a night tour with Jose' and had a great time seeing all the critters. (My daughter is a biology major so she could have explored this property for many more days.) It is a rustic feel in the middle of the rainforest which is what we wanted. We highly recommend it for those wanting to stay IN the rainforest.

Wonderful Vacation Experience

I fully enjoyed everything about this rental. It was perfect to enjoy nature and disconnect. I loved the openness of the house. Each morning I woke up to monkeys chattering in the distance and birds singing. I couldn't wait to make coffee and watch the hummingbirds. At night, we could see glowing beetles and could listen to the sounds of the jungle. The landscaping and flowers around the property were delightful to explore. Though the toucans remained elusive, we were treated to monkeys traveling outside the windows one afternoon. I do recommend an AWD vehicle but we managed just fine in an SUV without. We arranged all of our activities through Deborah. She was a godsend and I couldn't have planned my dream trip without her. She arranged for Cleo to come and cook for us one night which was amazing and we went out with Jose horseback riding and on a night tour. It was all so much fun and everyone in the family loved it. I do wish that I had more free time to explore around the property but that was my only regret. My sincere thanks for such a wonderful experience.

Excellent getaway

SO. MUCH. FUN. My two teenagers and I had such a fantastic week! The home was a little more remote than I expected but having a rental car made it super easy. Deborah was extremely helpful and responsive and did a great job facilitating our activities. Jose was a great steward on-site and helped us understand the local Flora and Fauna. I'd go back in a heartbeat!!!

Adventure

It was an adventure to stay in the jungle. We loved having a private river to hike 1/2 mile to anytime we wanted. Host Debra and Jose the guide were great and helped us book any excursions we needed. The falls were not going while we were there due to summer dry season. Home can get warm in the really hot humid days and some bugs in the home but nothing not expected staying in the jungle. We loved the privacy of the place! The whole family had a good time.

Great place in the jungle!

We really enjoyed our stay here as a family of 6. The river was amazing and refreshing and Jose is a great guide.

It is Costa Rican company who employ local help, including fabulous chefs from the area who cook mouth watering tropical delicateness customized personally for you alone. They are involved in various local projects to help protect and promote the Rain Forest.

It is the closest places to Paradise. Only a few hours flight from US. Out of the hurricane zone. English is widely spoken. The property is conveniently located within a half hour of town, the Park, the beaches, and the airport. CR is only 9 degrees from the equator. The property is normally 10 cooler than in town, so most couples find it really refreshing at the end of a hot day. Heat and humidity can sometimes range in the 90's down below.
