Outdoorsy Vacation

Me and my 2 children and 2 dogs had the best 4 days in this home! Clean, spacious, updated and fully stocked. My kids loved fishing off the dock, jumping in the lake and big bonfire at night. My dogs loved the freedom and the owners dogs were so friendly as well. We will definitely be back!!

It is beautiful. Quite the hill to climb if you are out of shape, but we loved it and found ourselves relaxing and just enjoying the natural surrounding.

It's The Little Things

My husband and I travel at least five times a year and use Vrbo quite often and this has been our best experience, BY FAR!! When I read reviews that state that someone goes above and beyond and then I experience it for myself, it is not always true. This is not the case with Nancy. The description of her getaway is spot-on. She is the most attentive and attention to detail Vrbo owner I have ever meet. I even told my husband that if we lived closer, she would be someone I would want to be friends with. Her home has one thing that I have never experienced with others. She puts one thing into it that I have never seen. Love. That is such a rarity. Nothing was left out. As I titled this, "It's The Little Things"...that is the truth. TV had apps with no commercials,, kitchen had everything-spices, saran wrap, spatulas, bowls, quality pots and pans, etc., water from the refrigerator, ice maker, quality coffeemaker, plenty of dishtowels. Comfortable couch and chair with footstool, spare bedroom had games for all ages, bathroom was gorgeous and fully stocked with everything. Shampoo, conditioner, body soap (and not cheap stuff!), Bath and Body Works hand cream, plenty of toilet paper, wonderful shower that got warm immediately. King bed in master bedroom. I don't have enough space to write all the positives. There are no negatives at all! The location in Lynchburg was wonderful and safe. Nancy is a needle in a haystack-difficult to find. We will be back for sure

Stay evaluation

Place is very nice with relaxing backdrop on the pond and hills. Deer walking around and pond full of fish. Had a great time relaxing after wife’s surgery and having grandson visit. If the weather was warmer it would have been really fun to enjoy. But it’s mid March so that can be iffy. Host was communicated well. Would definitely stay again.

Relaxation at it’s finest!

I brought my daughter‘s dog and came to Lynchburg for the weekend to surprise her. She is a student at liberty University. She had no clue I was in the area, but her roommate and two friends did. Nancy graciously welcome the dog as well as the college students. She went above and beyond to accommodate us and even let the girls stay late as I had to leave early in the morning after departure. She allowed us to build a fire and there were games to play and a dock sit on by the lake. I would highly recommend this property as well as its owner. 10 out of 10.!

Perfect place

We had no issues at this place. They we friendly the place was clean and comfortable. If we were forced to come up with a complaint the bath water didnt get as hot as we would have liked but that is just preference. Nothing was wrong. This was the perfect place to stay.

Weekend Getaway w/Boys & Pups

Had a great fall getaway with my two boys (ages 10 and 15). Boys loved fishing and exploring the woods with the puppies! Nancy was a wonderful host and provided everything we needed (and more)! Highly recommend!! :)

Stunning property, will not disappoint!

Beautiful Seclusion

I was a little hesitant to book this in law suite because we usually book entire houses to have to ourselves for privacy. I didn't need to worry! The suite was perfect. We never heard or saw anybody so it was like we had the whole place to ourselves! We had access to a private back porch the overlooks the lake which is the perfect place to sit after a day out or to start your morning. Nancy was quick to answer any questions we had and provided any of the extras that you would want. The location is perfect. You feel like you are far away from everything but in reality you are just a short car ride from anything you would need. We will most defiantly be booking again!

Ultimate luxury & relaxation!

We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful weekend. This space is thoughtfully appointed, above & beyond expectaions, which resulted in a most luxurious and relaxing getaway! We loved being able to travel with our senior pets, and greatly appreciated Nancy's kind and easy-going communication. Nancy also has delightfully handcrafted pottery mugs available for purchase. We are looking forward to booking another stay in the future, and highly recommended this location to anyone visiting the Lynchburg area.

Far Better than Staying at a Hotel!

I don’t know where to start to express my gratitude to Nancy for her hospitality. This stay beat our typical stay at the Courtyard Marriott and Residence Inn. The in-law suite was more like our own private apartment and provided much more space than staying at a hotel or even a hotel suite. (I’m a Marriott Gold member, so it takes a lot to get me to stay at a rental, this stay beat all of the Lynchburg hotels even the Marriott’s!) My grandmother passed this week and this was the most perfect location for resting in between the funeral/celebration of life events (her service was located near Liberty University). The lake view is so serene and relaxing. Even though it was chilly due to it being Winter, I sat and passed much time looking at the lake from the couch. The jacuzzi tub was immensely relaxing given the busyness of the weekend and provided a nice respite to relax. I grew up in Lynchburg so returning for this specific purpose was not easy at all. This rental provided the comforts of home that you can never get from a hotel. From the throw blankets and plush pillows on the couch to the huge kitchen and walk in shower. The environment was amazing, like taking a walk in the woods and coming upon a house out of a storybook, it was super quiet and private. Nancy provided a delicious homemade treat for us and snacks/coffee were available also! Again, I can’t say enough to recommend this lovely property! Many thanks for helping us make it through this difficult time!

I ended up coming here myself for a few days and the pictures did not do the place justice. It is very private, clean and well stocked with everything you need. We loved our stay here! It was very quiet and secluded. Loved the option of using the canoe and fishing poles! Nancy made the stay very easy and homey. Her communication was Lightning fast, and above and beyond. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat

Secluded Luxury—a restful oasis!

This was the perfect spot for a restful getaway. The property is peaceful and the house is stunning. Guest apartment is well-appointed, even providing little extras like coffee, chocolates at the bedside, and everything a person could possibly need for a first-class stay. Host Nancy is delightful—friendly, prompt in communication, and just a lovely person. Her assistant, border collie Wheezie, was sweet and friendly too. Our Labrador was along on the trip and he gives Wheezie 5 stars. We enjoyed hanging out on the covered patio, swimming in the lake, and checking out Lynchburg. On days that we preferred to stay put, we watched a doe and her fawns grazing, swallowtails frequenting the butterfly bush, and even a hummingbird who came up to the patio to see what we were having for dinner! The evenings were a chorus of woodland and lake creatures serenading. We felt rested and renewed when we reluctantly headed home, and would highly recommend this beautiful place. We plan to return!

Small town girl raised in Michigan, transplanted to North Carolina for college (UNC-Chapel Hill), and relocated to Lynchburg with my family in 2006. I'm a business-minded jack of all trades (Duke Fuqua School of Business 2020) and thought this would be a fun diversion and business opportunity. This is the forever home that I've always dreamt of building, and I'd love to share it with you and your family.

This house was custom designed and built from the ground up (2013) on a piece of property that makes you feel like you have found heaven on Earth. It boasts a small carbon footprint from insulated concrete form exterior walls, geothermal radiant heat floors and water heater, solar light tubes, and LED lights. No luxury was spared in building this in-law suite for my mom, who has since purchased her own home. From the expansive, travertine master-bathroom to the chef's kitchen, you can feel the love that went into building this space.

The house is incredibly well insulated, and our goal is for you to not even realize we are under the same roof. However, if you need an ingredient for dinner or a forgotten toiletry, there is a dumbwaiter to your pantry that allows me to send things down without disrupting your stay.

I am one of those people that would rather rent a stand-alone dwelling. So I understand the desire for privacy, and I assure you that this is better. We will not be seen or heard, but if you need anything, we are just a text away.
