The best mountain trips have a rhythm to them — slow mornings, full days, evenings that stretch longer than expected. This lake view retreat above Lake Glenville is built for exactly that.
Start on the sizable covered porch, where a wood-burning fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and unobstructed views of the lake and Blue Ridge Mountains set the tone before the coffee's done. Twig railings, stonework, and shake siding give the space genuine mountain character. A landscaped lawn with seasonal blooms and a low stacked-stone wall completes the picture outside.
When everyone moves inside, the stacked-stone gas fireplace and open living and dining area take over — a wet bar, double glass doors to the porch, and a rough-hewn textured wall that keeps the outdoors close. The newly renovated kitchen is well-equipped and ready for whatever the group has planned, with wood and tile floors carrying through the main level. The primary suite with a newly designed private spa like bathroom, two additional guest bedrooms, and a second full bath round out the main floor.
Downstairs is where the trip takes on a life of its own. A den with double bunk twins over queens, as well as a second den with a ping pong table, standard twin bunks, a bonus room with king sized bed, a full bathroom, laundry, for the moments between adventures. Flexible, comfortable, and just separate enough to give everyone breathing room.
Lake Glenville awaits just below: one of the most beautiful high-elevation lakes in the Southeast, with the kind of scenery that makes it easy to stay one more night. Holidays are a four (4) night minimum.
