Great wiev from the upper Gildhall where everybody can be together at the huge dining table, while watching the breathtaking fjord and landscape outside.
1000 years ago this place had a lot of viking people living on the grounds, and many artifacts have been found here.
The area today has a status as a local heritage area.
Ample parking space, Wi-Fi and great possibilities for hiking trips in the surrounding area.
Well known national visiting spots like Atlanterhavsveien, Geiranger and Mardalsfossen are in the visinity.
Also the three beautiful towns of Ålesund, Molde and Kristiansund are within easy reach from the Lodge.
The part of Romsdalsfjord witch here melts into the Langfjord and Eresfjord is well known all over Europe to sportfishers.
Here you can watch the dolfins chasing the herring and larger fishes jumping in the waters in their quest for food.
All types of Atlantic fish can be caught here, and visitors at our lodge can often catch lots of fish when the conditions are right.
We have large freezing capabilities for those who need that, and want to bring some of their catch with them back home.
In the summer months there are many families that visit us.
On a nearby field kids can play soccer and many kinds of games and sports.
From the marina mole its popular to fish, or just hang out on the beach and go looking for small crabs and eals under the stones.
In front of the lodge we also have a natural pebble beach where the tough onces can go swimming on beautiful sunny days and evenings. The water temperature can range from 16 to 23 degrees from june to september.
The sun at these lattitudes is over the horizon 20 hours a day in the summer months, making it a bit unusual for "southeners" to sleep if they are not used to it.
Usually closing the curtains will work.
If you like sleeping with the window to your room a bit open, you can hear the birds and sometimes the wildlife from the forest near by.
The mole in the harbour has a family of otters living inside it - so never leave fish leftovers outside at night.
Then nobody will sleep, and the birds will clean the remains as best they can before breakfast.
Welcome to our Viking Lodge.
