Hi, I'm local to the area, growing up in Leland, NC and currently living in Wilmington, NC. I have been married to my beautiful wife (and co-host), Julie, for 23 years and we have two amazing daughters. I spent my summers at my Aunt and Uncle's beach house in Carolina Beach, just 2 miles north of our home in Kure Beach and absolutely love the island. Some of my favorite memories were spent on these beaches, playing as a kid, surfing as a teenager and now doing both as a father with my girls. I love spending time with my family, going to the beach and live music. I also love traveling. Costa Rica and New Orleans are favorites! Having a house at the beach has always been a dream of mine and I am so happy to be sharing this new adventure with you!

What makes Solshine so special is the inviting decor, comfortable sofas and beds, and the location. The location can't be beat! We are only a 2-3 minute walk to the closest beach access and are only a 3-5 minute walk from the local restaurants and the Historic Kure Beach Pier. 3 miles north is Carolina Beach, with more options for dining and nightlife. A trip there isn't complete without a hot Britt's donut or a cold beverage at a one-of-a-kind bar, The Fat Pelican. You can head to the Fort Fisher coastline 2 miles south at low tide to discover a rare coquina rock formation that dates back thousands of years, visit the North Carolina Aquarium or the Fort Fisher Historic Site. We are right in the middle, located in a quiet, family-friendly residential area where you are a quick walk away from the beach, pier, restaurants, arcade, coffee shop and local dive bar. Our guests have loved the home and the surrounding area and we make every effort to make your stay as wonderful as possible. See below for a couple of recent reviews:

What sets Solshine apart from many of the other homes in the area are the many amenities included. We have two daughters and know how much time and effort it takes to just get to the beach! Our goal is to make your stay with us as convenient and fun as possible while saving you the hassle and cost of packing or renting the items separately (items provided are more than a $400/day value). There are six (6) beach chairs, four (4) cruiser-style bikes, six (6) scooters, six (6) boogie boards (4 adult, 2 child), two (2) surfboards, a beach umbrella, beach toys, cooler, beach cart, beach wagon, and a Simply Southern tote that you are free to use. We also provide oversized beach towels so that all you will need is your bathing suit and sunscreen! We provide a Weber grill for afternoon cookouts and both a ping pong and foosball table in the garage we have converted into a game room. We also provide discs for the 18-hole disc golf course that is an 8-minute walk from our home as well as pickleball racquets and balls for the nearby tennis courts.
