The Space:

Welcome to Casa Carey — your laid-back Keys getaway in Marathon!



Located in the desirable Sombrero Beach neighborhood, Casa Carey is a charming and unique octagon-shaped home just one mile from Sombrero Beach. Whether you’re here to boat, explore the area, or simply relax, this home is a great home base for enjoying the Florida Keys. With a 30-ft dock on a deep-water canal, it’s perfect for bringing your boat along for the adventure.



Kick back in the shaded lounging area beneath the elevated home, or head upstairs to the spacious upper deck to enjoy the sunshine and peaceful canal views. Inside, the open-concept living area features vaulted ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen, and two full-size sleeper sofas, making it comfortable for families or larger groups.



The primary suite includes a queen bed, bunk beds, and a private ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom offers another queen bed plus bunk beds, providing flexible and comfortable sleeping arrangements for everyone.



You’ll also appreciate the ample parking for multiple vehicles and a boat trailer, along with a bait freezer and fish-cleaning table for your fishing trips. Casa Carey is conveniently located just minutes from Marathon’s restaurants, attractions, and grocery stores, so everything you need is close by.



Want to explore the area? Bikes, paddleboards, and kayaks can be rented locally and delivered right to the home, making it easy to enjoy your stay without the hassle.

Family Retreat

Perfect venue to meet up with family on sail boat. They anchored nearby and used their dinghy to visit. Plenty of seating and table space for our game nights. Close enough to Key West but a quieter location.

Spring Break

House was perfect for the 3 of us. Great location close to the beach and right on a canal if you rent a boat. Friendly neighbors. Well furnished inside and out.

Casa de On the Canal

Great place. Right on the canal with a great dock. Easy drive to Publix and restaurants. Each bedroom had a full plus a set of bunk beds. Everything working and in good shape. Would definitely recommend.

Fabulous in The Keys

My wife, daughter, and my self went down for a week in Marathon. We loved this house! Great location, drank my coffee every morning by the channel. Close to great restaurants and a short drive to the Lower Keys. Airy, open layout with high ceilings. Right down the street from Sombrero Beach. Thanks for a great stay!

Good Time

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was nice and fit our needs well. My wife and I stayed for 3 weeks. We had another couple stay with us for part of the time and the home worked out fine. Some family visited for supper a couple times and the downstairs open area worked great. Thanks for a great experience.

Wonderful place to stay

We lucked out snagging this new listing as our original accommodations fell through. Place was beautiful, clean, and up to our usual standards for our annual vacation to the Keys. Only suggestions would be to update the modem/router (internet was in and out all ten days) and there were nails sticking up on the deck. Other than that, we would stay again! We feel so luck to have found this place last minute, otherwise our vacation would have been ruined!

clean and great

We loved our stay. The house was clean and the outside areas were fantastic. The kids spent a lot of time fishing from the dock and loved it. The kitchen was a bit tight for 6 person (it was a very tight squeeze to eat, we couldn't fit more than that a t the table) and the number of plates, utensils... was very limited so we had to do dishes after every meal (we could have used the dishwasher but chose not to for so little items at a time). However, it didn't affect the pleasantness of our stay. Thank you for making this house available.Marie

Bringing your boat? Perfect place .

We come to the Keys multiple times a year and trailer our boat. We look for places that are close to a ramp great parking and boating access . This house and location had it all . Super affordable for everything offered . Great house that accommodated 6 adults perfectly, nice deck, patio and back area for boat with dock that had all the amenities we needed ! Neighborhood was great - friendly ,residential boaters . I have no complaints - air was cold after a hot day , Wi-Fi worked great , kitchen fully equipped , lots of towels and linens . Thanks for sharing your home with our family we had a great week !

Wonderful place! Would stay again!

We enjoyed our stay! The kids got to fish off the dock and we spent a lot of time out there. It was very peaceful. We brought our paddle boards and paddled up and down the canal with the kids and they loved it. The property is close to everything we wanted to do in Marathon and a short drive to many other restaurants and activities we enjoyed while in the Keys. I will leave a tip for future guests staying: ensure that you bring bug spray or purchase when you arrive. We luckily brought some but we definitely got a few bites from “no-see-ums” before we dug out the bug spray. With the spray they left us alone! Beautiful sunsets at night from the dock and a cool hangout area under the house with a hammock chair the kids loved as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

It was horrible!

The property had no heat and it was some of the coldest weather ever in the Keys. The property manager liesd to us and said it was a brand new system and they had a trouble call in for a HVAC technician, which never showed up. It down in the 40s inside and was unbearable. I complained and complained and nothiing happened and then on Monday morning the property manager had the local police come to the house and evict us! It was horrible and I want a refund!

This was a challenging guest. It was Christmas Eve, and the guest called and texted that the heat was not working. The homeowner has a nest system, so we know exactly what the temperature was in the home. The owner just had a new heating and air system put in the home, and the installer did not test the heating element: in the Florida Keys, we need to turn on the heat once every three years. The temperature in the house never went below 54 degrees; we have a record of this. It never dipped below 50 degrees outside. The reason we had this guest evicted is that he threatened via voicemail and text (we have all records of this) to burn the house down on Christmas day. The guest called the sheriff’s department because the heat was not working. The deputy explained that it was Christmas, and he had to understand that there would not be an HVAC repair person until the next day. The deputy spoke to us, and we showed him all the threatening texts, and he listened to all the terrible voicemails. The homeowners are both firefighters and asked the officer to remove the guests. We did wait until the day after Christmas to have him removed from the property. This is the first time in 20 years of business we have ever had to evict a guest. No one has the right to say and text profanity and threats of bodily harm and destruction of property. There is an active police report, and this guest will not be getting a refund.

Great location

The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is that the deck needs replacing badly. I understand that is very costly but I was afraid to walk on it without shoes. Maybe at the very least, you could sand it and paint it there is one board that is coming up when you step on one end. This house provided all of our needs and was at al great location. Communication was great! We loved the canals! We paddle boarded every day! The beach was just a quick drive. With teenagers, it was great to let them go back home if they got tired of the sun and come back to get us!
