Not far from the Cottage is a hidden wild gorge that will surely impress you. It is one of the oldest fossil gorges in Europe. Lush forest, natural bridges, holes, caves and narrow passages between 50 meter walls. The 'popular' neighbor is the beautiful Vintgar gorge that attracts the majority of visitors, but you can explore the Pokljuka gorge in complete peace and tranquility. A few kilometers further is the Pokljuka plateau. Pokljuka is well known by Biathlon centre called Rudno polje, there are numerous hiking starting points from where you can reach the highest tops of Slovenian Alps. There is a well known myth about the witches gathering on the summer solstice, also called the Midsummer Night, when on the mountain pasture Klek they fly on their brooms, a thing you surely wouldn’t like to miss out. You can also explore the nearby Radovna that ends in Krma valley witch offers a stunning view on Julian Alps and it’s also an easy starting point to the Slovenians highest mountain Triglav. Bled Lake is only 8km away and Bohinj Lake 20km.

From the direction of Bled, access is officially possible only on foot. We recommend access from Blejska Dobrava.
