DOG FRIENDLY: This Dog Friendly home invites you to bring the whole family. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their dog. Dogs are allowed on the beach during daylight hours and must be leashed.

Great Value and Location

Rental is in a great location between beach and marsh. Litchfield Realestate keeps the place super clean, they’re accommodating, and very helpful. This is a wonderful “Old Litchfield Beach” property that has had nice upgrades which made the stay very pleasant (counter tops, etc). As with all older houses, it has had its wear which we found charming. I was concerned about earlier comments about carpet and the recent hurricane but found everything to be satisfactory. We definitely recommend this property.

While primarily residential, Litchfield Inn is located on the north end of this beach where guests can enjoy oceanfront dining within easy and safe walking distance. Indulge at least once during your vacation and choose between the relaxed outdoor atmosphere of Austin’s Cabana Café or the elegance of Austin’s Ocean One located on an upper floor with panoramic ocean views.

Huntington Beach State Park shares the same strand as South Litchfield Beach, a popular destination for families, photographers, and nature lovers. A 4-mile drive north along Ocean Highway 17 will bring you to the forested state park entrance where visitors will fall under the enchanting spell of the beauty and wildlife of the Lowcountry sand dunes and marshlands.

Also 4 miles away is Brookgreen Gardens, another local treasure. Brookgreen displays world renowned sculpture amidst acres of lush gardens and majestic oaks and offers miles of walking paths through what once was a working rice plantation. It is also home to the only accredited zoo on the Carolina coast, where you will see rescued native animals in their natural habitats.

The Pawleys Island/Litchfield Beach area is known locally as the Waccamaw Neck. Pawleys Island, known for its “arrogantly shabby” character, encompasses Litchfield but has its own beach – and island – where it splits away from the south end of Litchfield Beach.
