Room 202 | The Brick Boutique Hotel

A restored 1888 boarding house and cafe in the heart of downtown Oceanside, The Brick Hotel has been reimagined into a modern day inn, a new kind of boutique hotel hidden above a tiki bar and below a rooftop bar. Locally owned and operated with contactless on-demand service and a digital concierge, guests are invited to self check-in to their next vacation.

Due to the multiple bars on-site, guests must be 21 years or older to book. On Fridays & Saturdays, the food and beverage concepts stay open until 12M and there is the potential for noise during hours of operation. We are a perfect fit for guests looking to enjoy a lively urban environment with several on-site dining options at your doorstep, while also being a short 4-block walk from the beach and pier.

Parking
- One (1) space is allocated per room
- Our designated parking is located 1.5 blocks away in the closest parking garage. Why not on-site? Our building (built in 1888) predates vehicles!
- Upon arrival, guests may pull into any spot in front of the hotel to unload luggage. A parking pass with space assignment and directions to our off-site lot will be awaiting guests in room.

Thursday Markets
- Every Thursday, Pier View Way (where the Brick is located) plays host to two outdoor markets. The Oceanside Farmers Market runs from 9AM-1PM. The evening Sunset Market (weather permitting) quadruples the AM market in size with a street fair that runs from 5PM-9PM offering a huge variety of dining options, local artisan stands and a live band.
- We do not have a front desk as our ground floor is occupied by a lobby bar. If checking in on a Thursday, our on-duty manager will send additional details via text message. We recommend arriving early as there will be congestion in the area. Feel free to text/call our manager should you have any questions.

This location was perfect! I also loved the free cocktail that was given as a perk at the restaurant downstairs. The only thing that I wish the room had was extra blankets and pillows.

Great little hotel

Contactless check in process was a breeze. Fantastic location was able to walk everywhere and the use of space throughout the property was spot on. Small hotel room but it accommodated what we needed while we were there. Would book again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review! The building was originally built in 1888, therefore we were using a historic footprint which contributes to the size of the rooms. The property underwent a five-year adaptive reuse (and earthquake retrofit) restoration to update the old masonry building with all modern amenities and finishes, while maintaining the original brick facade and historical integrity of the building. Thank you so much for supporting small business!

I had NO idea that I'd have the best staycation ever & that this cool gem would play a big part of it. What a fun property - I visited when the Thursday (AM & PM) farmer's markets take place. I was right in the middle of all of the neighborhood action. There are three great food & drink options onsite and I enjoyed them all. This was thanks to the host that had drink vouchers waiting for me in the room!! I couldn't believe it. The room was comfy and had all I needed an ipad that served as the digital guide. It was awesome and so useful. Every text from the host was clear, making parking and checking in a breeze! It can be a bit noisy in the evening but I'm always prepared with ear plugs. The space was clean, accessible and, it was so cutely decorated. I told my family & friends about this place, the history of the building and about my really great time - a friend is considering it for a future family event in Oceanside. I hope to return again in 2026!

Overall Great Stay!

First and foremost - GREAT location. Has a snazzy rooftop bar with a restaurant downstairs set to open end of August. Super close to all the bars, restaurants, and shops you could need and very short walk to the beach. The space itself was very clean and did the trick for 2 people. Check in/out process and parking directions were all very easy. My only callout is that the walls are incredibly thin and we had a crying child staying on our floor this weekend and could hear our neighbors on the other side having a conversation (word for word). I would definitely recommend this spot and would definitely stay here again, though!

Thank you so much for the kind review! We greatly appreciate your choosing to stay with us. I am happy to report that the ground floor restaurant will be opening this weekend! Regarding noise, please know that you can always reach out if there is a disturbance and we are happy to intervene. Being a historic building, noise can travel somewhat through the historic brick walls, especially if the neighboring unit has their windows open. We are working on additional soundproofing measures such as doubling up on drywall and installing sound deadening foam where able. Thank you once again for choosing The Brick!
