The Log House is approximately 2,600 square feet of comfort and joy.
3 levels; bedroom (queen) and bath on each level for your own space and privacy.
Main Floor: Great room -hardwood floors - vaulted wood ceiling - floor to ceiling boulder fireplace open to a sunny dining room and fully equipped kitchen with center island. Powder room and Master bedroom with whirlpool tub - separate shower.
Upper Level: Bedroom-bath-loft (great space for reading) overlooking the Great Room.
Lower Level: Gathering Room with pool table - TV. Bedroom - bath - laundry room. Patio with outdoor seating. Deck with hot tub kept hot year-round.

This is the second time I stayed at the cabin, but first time with friends. The interior is beautiful and has plenty of amenities, even some spices and foil. Everything was great. I would recommend bringing a fan if you stay in the upstairs bedroom (the box fan helped but it was still a little warm). The hot tub was relaxing and the fire pit was nice, even though I didn't get to use it this time. It's only 15 minutes from downtown Galena and the Piggly Wiggly. Check out this gorgeous cabin if you're interested in Galena!

Your home was exceptional. My two suggestions would be to consolidate your pots and pans in the kitchen to leave an empty cupboard for guest's food, and invest in new firmer mattresses. I loved the hand painted decor and children's memorabilia. The decoating made me feel right at home.

Weekend stay

Stayed as a quick weekend trip. While we didn't spend much time at the home, it was comfy and inviting after a long day at the lake. Check-in was easy and the place was furnished for anything you need. The host was also very responsive to any questions I had leading up to the stay.

Perfectly acquainted cabin for a family get away. Access to the club house and marina amenities as well as the house’s pool table, hot tub, games etc. provided lots of options for kids and adults to enjoy. We enjoyed running and walking the trails as well.

Galena Log Cabin

We have stayed at this property before and this time did not disappoint. Beautiful home, wonderful location, well appointed, and clean. The property owners were swift in responding to a couple questions we had prior to our arrival. Played some golf, enjoyed the hot tub, used the owners club pool facilities, and had some fun and screaming when a bat found his way into the screened in porch one evening:). All in all - we highly recommend this property and the wonderful Galena experience.

Cozy cabin with nature all around!

Galena Cabin Favorite

Our stay was great. The cabin is very clean and well kept. The only issues that we had was the grill never came up to heat might need the gas burners cleaned out and the dryer in the basement took about 3 times to get clothes dry. We LOVE coming to this cabin as this is the 2nd time to rent and we our planning to rent again. Thanks for the great stay and letting us use your cabin.

Fun getaway!

Place was just as described. Owners are super responsive. Hot tubbing post-skiing with the falling snow was a highlight. Also cross-country skied the beautiful trails, which are quite close to the cabin.

Just Okay

This property was clean and all systems worked except the gas fireplace. The place is exactly as pictured. Everything and I mean everything in this rental is dated to the 80’s and so very tired. The log home is of good quality with a nice layout but everything is old and low quality…not up to current standards. The grill and hot tub worked well. The beds are awful and have foam toppers that make the beds hot and uncomfortable. Two have footboards(inconvenient for us tall people) and all are queens with poor quality sheets and bedding. The gas fireplace log set is very old. The pilot light blew out as soon as we opened the glass doors. We know how to operate gas and electric fireplaces as we have 3 in our own home. We did not attempt to use it. Looked too risky. The fire pit was uncovered and filled with old wet ashes. The log pile was not covered so there was no dry firewood. We could not start a fire. The pool table is very old and in poor condition. We still had fun but it was an interesting game of nine ball. Would not return…this is my honest opinion and meant to help others. We spent over $1,000 for 2 nights in November for two people. Had to buy damage insurance for a house full of old items.

Great Cabin Vibes

This rental is exactly as advertised. Though our stay was short, it immediately felt comfortable and we all settled in quickly. It’s tucked away amongst beautiful trees and wildlife, yet close to Galena and all it offers. We all agree we want a longer stay next time! Messages to host were answered quickly!

Mike grew up in Chicago and Stacey in Sterling, IL. We currently reside in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago with our 3 children.

Our dream was to own a log cabin in Galena and after staying at this beautiful property for many years, we purchased it in 2021! This well-built property by Robert Johnson Builders and has all the perks of a great vacation home getaway.

The Galena Log Cabin is in the Resort Core close to the owner's club (fitness center, indoor/outdoor pool) and just feet away from miles of hiking trails. Also, since it is in the Galena Territory, the Cabin is very close to Eagle Ridge Resort where guests can enjoy golfing, spa, restaurants and sledding in the winter.

The house is whimsically decorated for all to enjoy and comfortable for guests of every age. The open floor plan allows guests to enjoy meals in each other's company, however the bedroom suites provide private space.
