Sea Ranch Abalone Bay is set within a protected coastal community and a natural oceanfront environment. Guests should be comfortable with coastal conditions, wildlife presence, and a bluff-side setting. Community guidelines, safety considerations, and booking requirements are outlined below to ensure a smooth stay for both guests and neighbors. Please review the Policies section carefully prior to booking.
The Neighborhood
Abalone Bay is a true waterfront property with private beach access, ideal for tide pooling, coastal walks, and sunset views. The Sea Ranch community offers over 50 miles of scenic trails winding along ocean bluffs, open meadows, and redwood forest.
This is a natural coastal environment. Wildlife sightings—including deer, birds, and other native animals—are common and part of the Sea Ranch experience.
House Rules & Policies
Primary Guest Requirement:
The primary booking guest must be at least 25 years of age and must be present at the property for the entire stay.
Maximum Occupancy:
Occupancy is strictly limited to 6 guests, including children and infants.
Parties & Events:
Parties, events, and third-party bookings are not permitted.
Quiet Hours:
Quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM in accordance with community guidelines.
Smoking & Vaping:
Smoking or vaping of any kind is not permitted anywhere on the property.
Pets:
Up to two dogs are welcome with prior approval.
A pet fee of $80 for one dog or $160 for two dogs applies.
Guests are responsible for cleaning up after pets; failure to do so may result in an additional fee.
HOA & Community Rules:
Guests must comply with all Sea Ranch HOA regulations, including light restrictions and a prohibition on drone use.
Safety & Property Information
Ocean Bluff Setting:
The home is located along an ocean bluff with an unfenced drop. Children must be supervised at all times near the cliffs and shoreline. Sneaker waves may occur and can be dangerous.
Natural Environment:
This is a coastal, natural setting. Wildlife sightings may occur and are part of the Sea Ranch experience.
Climate & Cooling:
The home does not have central air conditioning. The coastal climate remains cool year-round, and fans are provided for comfort.
Property Systems:
The home operates on a septic system; please flush toilet paper only.
A whole-house generator provides backup power during outages (generator does not heat the hot tub).
Security Cameras:
Exterior security cameras are installed and monitor the driveway and entry areas only. There are no interior cameras.
Booking Requirements & Check-In
Rental Agreement & ID:
A signed rental agreement and a copy of a valid photo ID are required within 48 hours of booking.
Security Hold:
A $500 refundable security hold will be placed on a credit card prior to arrival.
Construction Notice:
A neighboring home is under construction with an anticipated completion date of March 2026. Daytime construction noise may be present.
