Great place!

This is a beautiful place where you can truly get away from it all. The location is in a great place for a bunch of exploration. There are some great stores in restaurants nearby, and it isn’t a long drive to downtown Hilo. The hosts are amazingly helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.

Family get away

We enjoyed staying at Denise and Brian's place beautiful little spot in the middle of the woods it was quiet except for the frogs but it was peaceful also couldn't ask for better nights sitting around the fire listen to them but all in all I would go there and stay again they were great hosts to talk to very knowledgeable about the area we hope to come back again and stay in the near future !!!!

Idyllic jungle home

We loved staying in Brian & Denise's jungle paradise! The property is home to an orchard of avocado & citrus trees, and there's a great outdoor kitchen/dining area to chill at. The hosts are great people, very accommodating and fun to talk to.

Lovely spacious spot

We had a group of 9 that fit very comfortably. Cute details throughout with many little amenities to meet all your needs. Beautiful outdoor spaces. Denise was a fantastic host who shared lots of tips and suggestions for our stay on the big island. Would definitely come back and recommend to others.

Amazing

Owners are great people and very helpful! Perfect for our large group. Our stay was very enjoyable and would defintely come back. We never felt like we were on top of each other with our group of 10 as there is plenty of space and the lanai's are perfect! My youngest loved the chicken milling about and everyone loved the coqui frogs serenade

A Slice of Tropical Paradise

Our family of 8 adults and 1 toddler slept comfortably at Denise and Brian's lovely place. You can immediately tell they put a lot of thought to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Denise also did a load of our laundry which we greatly appreciated! As a heads up, you're in a tropical forest so there will be mosquitos! Overall, highly recommend and would love to stay again if we're ever back.

Nice house in pretty forest

Very clean and nice settings. I love their sunroom and back yard. Owners are very nice and helpful. It is a great place for family or friends traveling. My kids love this house and would like to visit again. A little hard to drive to if it is raining. Regular car may hit its bottom by the bumpy dirt road outside.

We truly enjoyed your stay and so happy the kids enjoyed activities and swings for a fun stay! Hawaii is a big island and many roads can be bumpy and have some dips in them. We always recommend to go slow as our car also has a low clearance much like the vehicle you drove and going slow for less than a quarter mile is so helpful when driving. Puna Rainforest

We had a wonderful time at the 2 properties. Both properties were clean, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. The owners were always available and helpful. The only problem we had was driving the dirt road leading up to the property. It had several deep holes which made driving difficult, especially on the rainy days and at night. We were enthralled with the rainforest plants and flowers. So gorgeous! The beds were very comfortable. We slept well! I thank the owners for providing such a lovely place for getting away from it all!

Yes it’s as described on the listing, our home is in a rural area with a dirt road - a real Hawaiian road in an agricultural area! Take the straight road slow with brights on. The rain makes the jungle green and wipers suffice anywhere on the dark island. Hawaii is not all lit up like the mainland. We are nestled in the jungle and truly the road is part of the allure! A little piece of paradise

You went over and above to make sure that we had the best time on your beautiful island. There was more that enough space for our group of 9. We spent time everyday in the covered gazebo in the back. It is hard to describe the lovely yard, the trees and little critters. You need to see it for yourself. The half and full day excursions that you have planned help out with sightseeing. You always took the time to make sure that we had everything that we needed. I would highly recommend this location if you are ever going to the big island.

Amazing rainforest retreat

We absolutely loved our stay. The location is a little remote but honestly for me I loved that aspect of it. We traveled with a family group of 10 (4 adults in 40's 4 adults kids 24-26, and 2 teenagers) the house had more than adequate room. When we were there and not out exploring we spent lots of time on the screened in lanai playing games, talking and drinking coffee. The house is well equipped with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay plus extras. The host Brain and Denise are AMAZING! They made sure we had everything we needed, gave lots of tips on places to see, things to do and yummy places to eat. We had a great time chatting with them. My only reservation when I was looking to book this place initially was owners being on the property as we were a large group with kids and did not want to feel like we had to stay quiet or worry about bothering them, Please do not let that denture you at all. We will definately be back! There was a gazebo with coconut painting, hammock chairs, more fresh avocados than we could eat. I could go on forever. We seriously loved this place!

Amazing property!

As a long time VRBO traveler, I've seen the good, bad, and the ugly. This property was one of my favorites. The owners were just wonderful. Quick communication, lots of suggestions, and very accommodating. Very engaging to our group, but never encroached on our time or the space. The property and space was simply beautiful. I wish we would have stayed longer so we could have spent more time exploring the grounds. A rainforest full of lovely flowers, plants, and fruit trees. The road and driveway might be a bit daunting to some, but I can assure you that if you take it slow, you'll be fine. We had no issues with our 12 passenger van. Our 9 person, multigenerational party loved the inside space. A/C in two of the bedrooms, as well as fans in all rooms. There was a nice cross breeze with the windows open for the other bedrooms. Screened in semi-outdoor kitchen was spacious and well appointed with everything you need for a short or long term stay. The space was immaculate. TLDR: Stay here. You won't regret it. Within 60 mins of all of the things you want to see on the windward side of the Big Island.

Excellent place to stay

Location is a little remote but great to be surrounded by nature. Hosts Denise and Brian were the best! They had some beach supplies for us and great information packets with places to see around the area. There were 10 of us and they made it easy for us. Plenty of rooms/beds for a large group. Everything is labelled for ease of use. The hosts made sure we had everything we needed and went above and beyond to make us comfortable. . As a warning if you have TMobile that area didn't get good signal, but there was WiFi for guests to use. There is also a small stretch of road that is a bit rough. It is drivable just make sure your car has good clearance. Would definitely come back!!

We have visited Hawaii many times before we decided to move and create a life here. The magic of the island and nature is beautiful and it accommodates are nature-loving and exploring sides! We live with our little Malti-Poo Lily and no children although they do come to visit! We are from a rural town in Western New York and go home for summers to visit family, friends, and our old stomping grounds! We love Kehena Beach on Sundays and kayaking in Hilo Bay! Shipman's Beach is a hike through the woods as well as McKenzie State Park! We enjoy staying active and take care of the property when hosting and for fun!

If you love NATURE, TREES, PLANTS, FLOWERS, and TRANQUILITY then you will love your stay with us! We are private and respect our visitors as we live on 2nd floor and you have the 1st floor to yourself. We live 4 miles from Pahoa Village and there is enough food, shops, and entertainment to be had alongside Hilo only 30 minutes away and Volcano State Park to see the flowing lava. Fissure 8 is ten minutes away and a scenic tour through the lava flow areas. We have a large living room, large screened lanai and outside gazebo! Games for children to play, fruit picking, and hikes through the woods!

We are 10 minutes from fissure 8 and only 45 minutes to Volcano State Park! Travel a short distances of 30-50 minutes to waterfalls, botanical gardens, parks, and gardens! Black sand beaches are nearby as well as coffee and chocolate tours!
