Enjoy a classic Maine lakefront cottage with beautiful sandy beach, screened porch, and 300' of waterfront. You'll enjoy loons on Upper Range Pond (a medium-sized lake), jumping off our private dock, swimming in beautiful clear water and using our 2 kayaks and canoe. Have dinner on the screened-in porch while watching gorgeous sunsets or make s'mores in the fire pit on the beach. Wonderfully quiet, private location only 40 minutes from Portland.
Fully equipped with linens and cookware, washer and dryer, as this is a family retreat that we love to share. We're committed to sustainability with eco-friendly cleaning products and lighting.
THE SPACE
-- In addition to three bedrooms, there is a private loft with queen bed that's accessed through one of the bunk bedrooms. It's suitable for agile people because one needs to climb a sturdy ladder to get up to it. There is also a roll-away bed (for a child) available upon request.
-- For heat, there's a Rinnai propane heater as well as a beautiful stone fireplace.
-- Fast internet with a desk in the living room.
-- Private parking on our property. Outdoor propane grill is great for cookouts.
GUEST ACCESS
-- Lock box on the front door.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
-- Mid June-Labor Day: we rent Saturday to Saturday, check in 3pm (lockbox), check out 10am.
-- We supply 4 gallons of drinking water via a water cooler with additional water available nearby. The tap water is fine to bathe with, cook with (boiled) and wash dishes with. It comes from a dug well next to the cottage, but to be extra safe we ask guests not to drink water from the faucets.
-- We have two kayaks and a two person canoe. Swim/use watercraft at your own risk and please wear a life jacket on kayaks/canoe. Life jackets available for kids and adults.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
-- Personal watercraft (jet skis) not allowed on Upper Range Pond.
-- A few stone steps lead from cottage to beach. The path is lit at night but there is also a short path through the woods.
-- Please drive slowly down the road. The camp road is in good shape and driving slowly helps keep it that way.
-- No smoking indoors or outdoors.
