Our Strathmere home is located between the beach and the bay, both of which can be seen from our upstairs deck. Strathmere is located right between Atlantic City and Cape May, both well known for tourism regardless of the season and less than twenty-five minutes away. Within less then two hundred yards are two very popular restaurants, the Deauville Inn Marina and La Fontana. Our home is filled with nautical décor, which fits in with the atmosphere of the town. A spacious upstairs deck which surrounds the back of the house is perfect for sun bathing, grilling, listening to the live entertainment at the Deauville on the weekends, or just watching the beautiful sunsets in the evening! We had a great stay at Carla’s beach house! We have been renting in Strathmere for decades and Carla’s place was perfect for our family’s annual trip this summer. We were a group of 7 and we all fit very comfortably. We very much enjoyed the upstairs living space and deck, and proximity to the restaurants.

Perfect Location

This house is large so it works well for a big family. Its location to the beach and restaurants was very convenient. Strathmere after Labor Day is very peaceful so the house was a great place to relax.

Perfect shore house!

We absolutely loved our stay in Strathmere. This house was perfect for our multi-generational family. So much comfortable space inside & out, well equipped for cooking, and lots of beach gear. The beach a block away is lovely. We hope to stay again next summer!

Check in was very easy and the host is very responsive. Wi-Fi access was no problem. The nice circular driveway gives room for plenty of parking for large family.The house is older but very comfortable and decorated nicely. The kitchen needs updating and the landscaping needs help. Overall, the house was very comfortable and we had a great time.

Great Stay

We had a great time at this house. Plenty of room and great sunset views from the deck. The fire pit in the back was great for a S’mores night with the kiddos. And so close to Deauville. Highly recommend. The owner is quick to respond with any questions.

We had a fabulous stay at this property. It was close to the beach and had a lot of amenities we enjoyed. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a getaway to the New Jersey shore. Our host, Carla was quick to respond to questions we had and I’m definitely going to come back again next year.

Perfect vacation location

We loved our week at this shore house. It was 2 floors with comfortable beds, lots of space and we loved the decks and covered porches. The kids enjoyed playing in the sandy backyard and the walk to the ocean and bay were so close. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed the sunsets over the bay. The house was clean and had the basics like seasoning/ spices, soap, shampoo and paper products to get us started. We can’t wait to go back next year! The owner was easy to reach and responded to questions promptly.

Sleepy town / Amazing home

I've always wanted to spend 2 weeks in Strathmere (long time OC goer). Found this place and booked it immediately! The home has everything, and I mean everything you could need. Bedrooms are exactly as depicted, kitchen and deck were the best. Easy walk to Strathmere beach! Easy walk to Deauville and Twisties. So glad I could bring my dog who loved the backyard as well as our moonlight walks on the beach :)

Strathmere House

The house is located in an ideal spot to go to Sea Isle or Ocean City. The beach was small because of winter storms but more than adequate, and very close. We had family who rented houses in Ocean City and Sea Isle who came to visit and loved the ability to sit in the front when it was cool there, and sit in the back when it was cool there. Amenities are great and there was nothing we needed that wasn't there. The open spaces in the upstairs and downstairs provide more than adequate space for us to read or work on our computers away from the nosier family members Overall a really great family house and location

What a place!

Very cool and unique place. Plenty of space to hang out and relax inside and outside. We loved sitting on the front porch on the swing in the morning and the huge back deck in the afternoon to watch sunsets. Spent our nights around the fire pit. Our daughter loved playing in the sandpit and playing the slot machine with grandpa. Very close to beautiful, clean beach. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking/grilling. There are also two restaurants/bars within a two minute walk. Jim was very helpful with all of the house features. Perfect family vacation!

Location, Location, Location

The best thing about this house was its location to the beautiful beach- just a block away! The house was honestly portrayed in the listing. We knew it was older and unrenovated. Unfortunately, it was dirty which was very disappointing considering the cleaning fee was over $400. The floors were not cleaned. Furniture, ceiling fans and and myriad beach decorations were dusty. Window sills were dirty and loaded with dead bugs. Kitchen cabinets were grimy. Air conditioning was spotty. It didn’t cool the bedrooms which were really hot when the doors were shut. The Roku TV signal was unreliable and often stopped mid-show. Strathmere is a great place to vacation. House could have been better.

I’m sorry that you had issues with your stay. The cleaning fee was only $75, not $400 but we switched companies and now it’s $150 so hopefully that will correct the issues. Cabinets are getting replaced this winter. -Carla - Carla

Loved our Stay in Strathmeyer!

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our 1/2 week vacation in your lovely home with our two daughters and 3 grandchildren. We loved the quick access to the beach, and the short walk to great restaurants. We appreciated all of the amenities in your home, and the quiet neighborhood with views of the bay from the back deck. It was a pleasure to stay in such a relaxing, comfortable home. Every appointment was perfection.

Communication with the owner was great. Every detail about the home was described for easy access. There is plenty of room with spacious family areas, TV’s in every room… it was great.

Great vacation home!

Great spacious home that is just 1 block from the beach with plenty of parking in the circular driveway. It is well equipped with nice touches of providing soaps, shampoo, conditioner plus toilet paper and paper towels. The deck is wonderful with comfortable seating to watch the sunset. We were so happy to be able to bring our dog and she just loved the fenced in backyard which also has a firepit - much appreciated on those cool spring nights. Jim was a great host.

I'm a retired shop teacher, and I have all my fingers and my students have all theirs. My home base is in Chester County, PA, and I live on the same road I grew up on. I've vacationed in Strathmere for 60 years, not at this house, but close. As a kid, I worked at a local restaurant, Mildred's, which has been recently torn down. Even though my father never threw me football, he made sure I had motor boats. I used them for fun and fishing! Always had a great time every day in Strathmere, and if you decide to rent, you will too!!!

Darum fiel die Entscheidung auf diese Unterkunft

When my parents passed, I let my sister keep their house on the bay, so we stared looking for something at an elevation that would never be flooded. After going trough a number of homes, we decided on this one because one of my daughters thought it was charming, and she loved the contours of the upstairs ceiling. It was old, but the upstairs was much newer than the downstairs. Anyway, we lived comfortably until the Sandy Storm hit. The place that I thought would never get flooded did! All the downstairs hard wood floors warped. Once we ripped them up, to our surprise, we realized the lumber supporting the floors was nothing but sawdust. We literally gutted the whole first floor to the dirt and rebuilt the whole downstairs with "out of pocket" money because the insurance company said what happened was "deterioration," not flood damage. We don't regret what we had to do then, because if we didn't get flooded, we would have never known. So, if you decide to rent, you will be staying in a home much newer than it looks!
