We found this property to be perfect for our group of four adults and a four year old. It would have easily accommodated more. It was quiet when we needed quiet and close to everything we wanted to do. The hostess was absolutely lovely and everything met or exceeded our expectations!I would highly recommend this property if you have any cause to be in the area!

Beautiful , clean & comfortable! Home is well stocked with basics. Decent kitchen equipment , we cooked in most meals. Easy check in. I loved the back yard & porch. Took peaceful naps out there, only the sounds of nature. It was only 2 of us but would be great for a family or friends vacation spot.

Very special place

We were in the area for a family gathering and this turned out to be the perfect spot to stay. The house was very cozy and was a great place to relax after long, busy days. It gave my granddaughters room to explore and be loud without getting in trouble. I would definitely stay there again!

Amazing place and host

Sad we had two nights of cold water but host tried everything to fix issue.. place was amazing and loved it so glad i got a chance to enjoy this place. Working in town so wish id had more time to enjoy it a little more but overall an amazing time.

Lovely spot for a weekend away

We picked this cabin due to its location to Lake Placid and specifically The Almanzo Wilder Homestead. It was very easy to get to both places and provided a cozy place to hang out and rest our heads when not sight seeing. The front porch provided a lovely hang out spot during the unfortunate rain when we weren't able to have a fire. I would strongly suggest this cabin to anyone, especially if you have a love for being outdoors rain or shine.

Great for Family adventure in North Country

We stayed for 3 nights in January. Two adults and one teen - so we had tons of space in this four bedroom cottage. It was a nice place for us to use as a base to get to the Adirondacks. Note that there is no longer a hot tub, which we only found about after selecting this place. Hopefully the owner updates the listing in case that is important to you. There were some tricky things with the door lock, but Cathy helped solve this over the phone. Otherwise its a cute, clean, and comfortable home. We enjoyed our stay!

Farmhouse Cottage

Love this region…

My husband and I live in upstate N.Y. so we are familiar with the region. This was just a getaway for us; a chance to unwind. The farmhouse is charming. The river is spectacular. Since we live on a rural farm, the house was not as secluded as I thought. Though it might be for properties in that area. Therefore our two dogs had to be on leash all the time. The house is right on a busy road. One issue we had was in initially accessing the house. The lockbox wouldn’t work and after 25 minutes we found a key on a shelf on the porch. Since I had no cell service, I couldn’t contact anyone and I had to use the bathroom after that long trip. :) Another issue was with Wi-Fi. The username and password provided in my check-in email and those on the sign in the house were wrong. I spent about an hour trying any networks that showed on my phone and all the various passwords and finally got it. Lastly, the tv loses internet often. We planned to watch several movies since the weather was cold and rainy, but they would cut out often, sometimes for half a day. Overall the experience was pleasant and the house was comfortable.

Beautiful cottage

The cottage was perfect, it slept 3 adult men with no issues. We enjoyed the fire pit each night while looking up at the stars. Our main event was grouse hunting in the Adirondacks state forest which was 5 minutes from the cottage. We had never been to the Adirondacks and the scenery was amazing. Grouse hunting did not disappoint either.

Cozy Cottage

Beautiful surroundings of the Adirondack Mountains. Cottage offers plenty of amenities. Property is well maintained and the host Cathy is onsite and very attentive if needed. We loved our 3 night stay.

Enjoyed the lovely cottage again!

My brother and I did our annual fly fishing trip to the Adirondacks in late September. We stayed at Cathy’s cottage and enjoyed every minute of it. The property backs onto the Salmon River so we could and hear the sound of the rapids at night as we sat on the porch. There is a hot tub, a fire pit, big comfy chairs to sink into and more. Everything is in perfect order and there are little references to the style and grace of the owner thoughout. A great stay and we look forward to another visit there in 2025.

Welcoming

The house is located at the beautiful river. River flowing sound helps to relax after a long day of nature exploration. It has a good location to visit Canada, Montreal or to get to the Adirondack Mountains. You can easily find places to fish or just enjoy the wilderness. House has all necessary things to enjoy the stay. A hot tub was one of the best things to do for kids. Thanks for hospitality and well organized house.

Motorcycle getaway

My husband and our friends were looking for a place to stay that would be centrally located for us to ride our motorcycles in the Adirondacks, as well as head over to VT for a day. This house was perfect. Big driveway, enough room for both couples to park our trucks and trailers, and the house was the perfect layout. Kitchen had all the necessities to be able to cook dinners, the grill was a nice addition for us. We loved the outdoor patio to enjoy our coffee and dinner, and the hot tub was a bonus. Also loved the sound of the running water from the river behind the cabin. Would highly recommend!

I have enjoyed being a VRVO host for the past 15 years and I have been fortunate enough to put together a great staff to help manage my properties.

I love this property because it is located at the foothills of the Adirondack mountains, close to the ski center, great hiking trails and the golf course, It is aesthetically beautiful, surrounded by trees and a scenic path to the river. The location is also good for snowmobilers and four wheelers as it is very close to a network of trails and there is plenty of area for parking trucks, trailers ando all the toys.

Additionally, the location is just a short drive to the Almanzo Wilder home, Mohawk Casino, Lake Placid Olympic center, the St. Lawrence River and the Canadian border.

The house is comfortable for hanging out and provides ample space for an active family, guys fishing trip or couples getaway
