Vacasa property mgmt - not great
I guess I didn’t pay close enough attention, but this place is managed by a prop mgmt company, Vacasa. I will not be staying at any VRBO property managed by this company again.
Back and forth confusion by vacasa on whether a virtual or in-person check-in process will be required. Thankfully I like to be prepared so I emailed and texted and called well in advance and each different person/response I got gave me a different answer. If this was going to be in person, it would’ve required going to an office location at 4pm 45 minutes away from the actual property.
We finally got checked in, which, by the way, must be a requirement of the Palm Springs area because no where else that I’ve stayed has required this sort of process.
Then be warned about the very confusing “smart” lock. The code needs to be punched in by itself and quickly, then when you hear the little gears move, turn the top deadbolt thing to unlock the door. This took some time to figure out and would’ve been nice to get some directions. There are thousands of words on noise ordinances, but limited instructions on how to operate many basic features of the house.
Speaking of which, the tv is listed as “smart” with Netflix enabled.. however, despite many tries, it would not connect to the home Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi worked for our phones but not the “smart” tv.
The pool was very warm and a bit green-tinged.
The wine fridge, which we didn’t have a need for, was so loud I could hear it running from the bedroom.
