This gorgeous, 3 acre property offers something for everyone- half of the land is our beautifully crafted mountain modern log home and level grassy and landscaped areas including shuffleboard, and the other half of the property is forested woodlands with a seasonal creek. The spacious back patio with beautiful treetop views is perfect for relaxing and also offers shuffleboard for family fun. Enjoy stargazing on clear nights. Grassy lawn, gardens, and plenty of room for everyone to roam!
This is our family’s personal part-time home that we are pleased to offer to others when we're not here. The cabin-cozy interiors were inspired by the owner’s time spent living on a Scandinavian island and are a mix of mid-century, rustic, and modern furnishings combined with an eclectic mix of décor including local and Pacific Northwest artwork and decor. Our family loves spending time here and we’ve put a lot of care and attention into the home to make time spent here as relaxing and memorable as possible. We hope our guests will also love it and treat it as their own.
Just one hour from Portland and a short drive across the bridge from Hood River, our location in the Columbia River Gorge is spectacular in all seasons with beautiful plants and flowers in the spring, a huge selection of Gorge outdoor adventures in the summer, gorgeous fall foliage, whitewater rafting, and harvest time "Fruit Loop" touring during the fall season, and snow sports at nearby Mount Hood in the winter. Year-round recreation (great watersports, mountain biking, fishing, whitewater rafting) and some of the best hiking in the Pacific Northwest nearby make this the perfect retreat for those who enjoy outdoor activities year-round.
Quaint downtown White Salmon is just 2 miles away with a nice supermarket and several great dining options and it’s just 5 miles to downtown Hood River, Oregon, with its downtown historic shopping district, great farm-to-table dining and local craft breweries, and award-winning wineries.

With 3 bedrooms and 2 baths in the main house plus a separate studio with full bath, this spacious yet cozy family-friendly property is perfect for multi-generational groups or families traveling together. Amenities include high-speed broadband internet (400mbps), heated floors on the main level, wood-burning stove, modern fully-equipped kitchen, shuffleboard, and TV area in the upstairs loft with all-chaise seating (so everyone gets a comfy seat).

1. GUEST COUNT OVER 6? The base rate for the cabin is for up to 6 guests. There is an additional guest fee of $25/nt/person for any additional guests up to 10 guests (8 adults maximum). If any additional guests are later added on to the reservation that would increase the guest count to more than 6, then the additional guest fees will be invoiced to Guest via VRBO.
2. QUIET HOURS and OUTSIDE HOURS ARE FROM 9 PM - 8 AM: This is not a party house. Wildwood Mountain Modern is located in a quiet rural residential area and guests must be aware and respectful of neighboring properties at all times. While all the homes in the area are on large acreage lots, noise carries very easily at night across the rural lots and while our guests may be on vacation, our neighbors are not, therefore outside hours end at 9pm at which time ALL outdoor activities and outside conversations must be brought inside the home. We have lots of seating inside the house that is perfect for group/family hang time after 9 pm plus a super-comfy all-chaise TV area in the loft. Please be sure that ALL the members of your group are aware of the quiet hours and will be able to comply BEFORE booking this property.
3. MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY OF 8: This property has a maximum occupancy of 8 adult guests. Up to 10 guests can be accommodated if the 9th and 10 guests are young children sleeping in one of the bedrooms with 2 adults. All guests, including any infants/toddlers, must be included in the reservation and any additional guest fees paid.
4. NO PARTIES, EVENTS, OR GROUP GATHERINGS ALLOWED: Use of the property is limited to the REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY. No weddings, bachelor, bachelorette, prom, graduation, pre- or post-wedding gatherings or similar parties. Please make other arrangements for group activities and gatherings at alternate locations.
5. ATTENDING A WEDDING OR RENTING MULTIPLE PROPERTIES? LET US KNOW IF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING APPLY TO YOU: - Are you getting married or coming to attend a wedding in the Gorge? - Are you part of a group renting more than 1 property in the Gorge? - Do you have additional friends or family members staying at another property in the Gorge at the same time? You must disclose this to us BEFORE booking and receive approval from us to book as we are normally unable to accept reservations from these types of groups.
6. DETACHED STUDIO DISCLOSURES: The main house is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, the detached studio with full bath is located over the garage, on the 2nd floor and is not connected to the main house. The property can only be rented in its entirety, together with the studio, the studio is never rented separately from the main house. There is no stove or oven in the studio, just a wetbar with refrigerator. No cooking is allowed in the studio.
7. ROAD NOISE: The house is located on a beautiful 3 acre parcel in a rural area with the house situated close to the rural road so there is road noise, including very loud logging trucks.
8. WINTER BOOKINGS- There is ALWAYS the chance that it could be snowing, especially December-March. Please bring an AWD vehicle and be prepared for snowy and icy conditions. Our driveway is a short distance to the county-plowed road, but during heavy snowfall you may be stuck inside until it stops snowing and the driveway is cleared.
9. DEFAULT REMEDIES: This is absolutely not a party house, please respect the rules of the property. Guests are subject to immediate eviction without any refund of their payments and security deposit if any Guest should fail to comply with any of the conditions or obligations of the Rental Agreement and House Rules including, but not limited to the following: 1) Number of occupants, day or night, exceeds the number of registered guests; 2) Any pets are allowed on the Property; 3) Fireworks are set off at the Property; 4) Firearms are discharged; 5) Complaints of noise, loud music, foul language, trespassing, or otherwise disturbing the peace of the neighbors are reported; 6) Noise and disturbance outside the Property after 9pm; 7) There are tents, campers, RVs, or motor homes placed on the Property without prior approval; 8) Any parties, gatherings, or events occur without written permission of Owner/manager; 9) Campfires are started outside of the property’s propane fire pit.
+7.5% Washington State Taxes +$340 outcleaning fee
- Absolutely NO SMOKING, including e-cigarettes, or marijuana, inside the house - No open flames (including candles) or fireworks allowed on the property. The property is located in a high fire danger area. The wood-burning stove may not be used during the area burn ban, May - October. - For home security, monitoring of snow levels, packages, and animals, and to ensure that occupancy rules are observed, we have 3 security cameras monitoring the exterior located outside the front entry, over the garage facing the driveway, and at the rear of the RV garage. There are no cameras inside the house or on the patio/backyard of the property.

This was a dream cabin in the woods ! Fall Heaven ! Games amazing cabin decor and ambiance, fire pit and smores at night, game room , hikes, cooking with family and movie nights ! It could be have been any better ! There were so many small touches that helped too light fresh clean linens and towels and toiletries to a few snacks upon arrival. Such sweet home! We will definitely be back!

This is a beautiful home with all the comforts and well supplied with everything we needed. The owner was easy to deal with and very helpful. Wildwood stay in White Salmon was perfect
Misty's home was perfect for us. Gave everyone enough space with a fully stocked home. My family was impressed with welcome basket, tons of coffee brewing choices, and everything we needed as a "cooking" family. The property is beautiful and backyard setting peaceful with evening sunsets. The game room was fantastic for ping pong tournaments at night and a secure location for our youngsters to play games and watch TV away from the adults. One of our best vaction rentals.

One of the best VRBO properties I have ever stayed in! You could just about show up with only your clothes and need nothing else- the owners have done an exceptional job of providing everything - above and beyond- what you need. Garage game room was a huge hit with our 8 year old grandson and the backyard area is beautiful . So close to White Salmon’s restaurants and just a few minutes from Hood River. This one is a keeper!!

My husband and I stayed here while we explored the Gorge! Fabulous property, cleanest vrbo that we have ever stayed in! Misty has everything covered, kitchen is well stocked, our bed was very comfortable and she is always available to help! I would definitely recommend staying here. Quiet location on 3 acres. Well appointed with space and desks in bedrooms for family members who had to work before “play”. Spectacular!!
Our stay at Misty‘s cabin was absolutely spectacular. From the moment we set foot until the moment we left we felt so at home. Every aspect of the house was just incredible. It was one of the cleanest and most well stocked and stylish vacation rentals I have ever stayed in. There were thoughtful, touches everywhere and a beautiful welcome gift when we arrived of local goodies and wine. Beds were incredibly comfortable and the house was so spacious and quiet. Communication was perfect. I would 100% highly recommend this and stay here again anytime.

The perfect getaway
We were a group of 6 ladies and had the best time at this property. The house was very inviting and all the spaces were comfortable and thoughtfully decorated and laid out. The hosts provided excellent communication and the welcome basket was a really nice touch. We enjoyed the yard and doing yoga on the back porch and watching movies on the comfy couch upstairs. There was plenty of sleeping space and everyone felt like they had their own private oasis in their rooms. We enjoyed exploring the property and all the surrounding nature. And it was a quick 5 minute trip into town. We already want to go back--thank you!

Gem of the Gorge!
Beautifully styled, clean and very well appointed house. They had everything we needed for our 1 year old - high chair, crib and toys. The kitchen is also very well equipped for cooking and enjoying meals at home. We had a great time hanging out on the patio playing shuffleboard and watching the local wildlife. The grassy area in the backyard is also perfect for kids! The surrounding property is idyllic and beautiful. We enjoyed picking and eating blackberries as we walked from the house down to the stream everyday. The house feels like a private mountain oasis but is still very close to town and a quick drive down to Hood River where my husband could go kiteboarding. The town of White Salmon was cute and had great restaurants. This was the perfect house for our family trip to the Gorge. This would also be a great layout for extended or large families as there is a separate garage apartment as part of the rental. We will definitely book again for our next trip to the Gorge!

Spacious slide of heaven
This stunning home is literally heaven on earth. So spacious, meticulously designed and decorated with everything in mind. Fully stocked. We could have shown up with just our clothes on our backs and had supplies for not just us but our children. We stayed here over our wedding weekend, which worked out to be even more perfect. The studio above the garage was peaceful and made for a great space for the bridal party to do hair and makeup, while the kids and grooms party were in the main home. The play room was cozy, stocked, and had fun games and things to do for everyone, adults too! There were welcome gifts for our children upon arrival with their names and it made them feel so special. We even had goodies and local snacks waiting, oh and a fresh loaf of local bread. The owner, Misty, kept in contact with us and checked in to make sure we had all we needed, honestly this has been the BEST VRBO stay we have ever had, and we are eternally grateful for having the opportunity to stay here on such a big weekend. We hope to return each year for our anniversary. Thank you Misty!!!

Our family booked a last minute stay over New Year's week and could not have asked for anything better. The house was better than the pictures - extremely clean, well appointed, and extremely comfortable. The host prepared the house before our arrival from turning on the heated floors and lights to providing welcome gifts from the local town bakery. The kids loved the play room ping-pong table, pop-a-shot, and arcade. And the bedrooms were all much larger than expected. It was exactly what we needed to wind down, catch up with family, and relax before work and school started again. We would highly recommend this home (and host) to anyone heading to White Salmon or Hood River. We will definitely be going back!

Already planning to come back!
This was one of the best rentals I have ever experienced! The home had all the amenities one could ever need, and everything was so clearly laid out for our family to use and enjoy. In addition to being clean, well-stocked, and in a perfect location, Misty was an exceptional host. She was communicative, helpful, and even had special treats to greet our family upon arrival. Everything about this place was wonderful, and we will definitely be coming back to enjoy this amazing getaway spot! Thank you, Misty!

Summer to Fall
4 of us stayed for 3 nights last week. We drove through heat and smoke but the smoke wasn't as heavy in White Salmon. During our stay weather went from summer warm to autumn cool. The experience was greatly enhanced by the beautiful location.
This home is extremely comfortable and well done. Comfy beds, beautifully equipped kitchen, cozy fireplace, and lots of indoor and outdoor space to stretch out. The owner was so helpful and communicative asking if we had any questions or issues during our stay. This is an outstanding place to relax and play. 5*!

Wedding weekend
We had a family wedding at Mt. Hood Organic Farm. There was a full weekend of events at the Bingen Hotel and Mt. Hood restaurants. This house is spectacularly beautiful and one of of the most well appointed ones we've visited. The suite over the garage is special. Every amenity was provided. The floors are even heated!! We loved it.

Solid five star rental
Owner, Misty could not be more engaging or helpful. Facility was fully stocked with all kitchen and laundry needs. Great patio in back. Plus, to top it off welcoming wine and fresh rolls. What's not to like?

Large, spacious house with great kitchen and outdoor space. White Salmon is quieter than Hood Rvier but close enough to take advantage of what each town offers.

Wonderful property!
Our family of 5 adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. It has every comfort and amenity, and is even better than photos. It was spotlessly clean, with very comfortable king size beds, and a lovely welcome basket of goodies. It is an exceptional property, just outside White Salmon which has several nice restaurants, a cafe and brewery, and there are great hiking trails nearby. Communication with Misty the owner was excellent. Highly recommend!

Beautiful home with many amenities
This home is beautiful, comfortable and clean. The area is beautiful with a lot to do. House is not walking distance to anything but it is only a short drive to several cool areas for food and recreation. Wish we could have stayed longer!
