Die "Wasserfälle" am Lake Sutherland gehören seit 1972 zu unserer Familie, als meine Eltern eine kleine Hütte am Fuße eines Berges an einem kristallklaren See kauften, um ihren fünf Kindern eine Investition und eine lustige Sommeraktivität zu ermöglichen. Mein Mann und ich haben die Hütte gekauft, um sie in unserer Familie zu behalten. Es wurde erweitert, umgebaut und verfügt über ein hübsches Cottage-Interieur, das der unvergleichlichen Schönheit des Lake Sutherland, seiner Aussicht und allem, was es und die Umgebung zu bieten haben, entspricht.

Ahorn-Parkettböden, geflieste Arbeitsflächen und wunderschöne Fenster mit Holzverkleidung rahmen den Blick auf den See ein, während süße, bequeme Möbel Sie einhüllen, während Sie den Blick schweifen lassen. Hüttensteppdecken bedecken die Betten und nachdenkliche Schilder in der Kabine, erinnern Sie daran, dass das Leben in der Tat "gut" ist !!

Sitzen Sie auf dem Deck in einem unserer berühmten 'Schaukelstühle' und lesen Sie, beobachten Sie Vögel oder dösen Sie einfach beim Rauschen des Sees und der Wasserfälle. Braten Sie einen Hotdog in der offenen Feuerstelle oder tauchen Sie mit einem perfekten Schwan vom Sprungbrett ab. Nehmen Sie das Kanu für ein gemütliches Paddel, Kajak oder Fisch aus dem Dock. Spielen Sie ein Spiel, basteln Sie ein Puzzle oder fordern Sie Ihren Partner zu einem Kartenspiel heraus !!

Der gesamte See ist von Mitte Juli bis Mitte August (Hauptsommer) an Wochenenden gut besucht. Wenn Sie also Ruhe suchen, buchen Sie eine Woche vor oder nach der Sommersaison!

Perfect stay

The home was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. Upon arrival, the home was meticulous and comforting. The beauty of the area is of course stunning. It’s in a really good spot to kickstart your Olympic park adventures as well. I highly recommend this home.

A magical place to be, great for families!

We were very happy to have rented this cabin. The views of the lake Sutherland are amazing. Super clean and well stocked with everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed fishing, playing games and kayaking on the lake. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thank you Julie!

Great Rental Place!

We have rented a lot of VRBO properties over the years, and this was one of the best. It was a beautiful location, clean and well maintained home that was just as advertised. The lake was clean and perfect for swimming. The owner was very responsive and helpful also. Really nice neighbors near this unit also.

The perfect Anniversary cabin

My husband and I rented this wonderful perfect cabin on Lake Sutherland for two nights and loved it! Julie, the owner has the place decorated beautifully and she even left us fresh cut flowers and a bottle of Champagne for our Anniversary! Perfect.

Perfect Summer Cabin

Our family had a wonderful stay at this cabin! It was the perfect home base for exploring Olympic National Park in the mornings and we enjoyed time at the lake in the afternoons. Mom and Daughter getaway

The cabin was lovely!! Right on the lake and so comfortable! Julie has thought of so many nice amenities that make the stay extremely easy and comfortable. Our weekend ended up being quite rainy and cold (unexpected) so didn’t take full advantage of the lake itself, but we so enjoyed being cozy and relaxing in such a beautiful place. We hope to visit again and with more time!

Your stay with us was the perfect ending to our summer season! We always feel so blessed when it is obvious that our guests both love and respect our cabin as we do. Perfect Peaceful Flawless Hidden Gem!

Julie has a secret here on Lake Sutherland and I'm willing to share it with the world! Our family of 3 had a perfect vacation with this cottage as our home, so many Olympic NP places to visit close by! Great Lake Sutherland vacation

Our family had a fantastic R&R vacation at your cabin. It was clean, cute and well stocked with every thing we needed from a good BBQ, beach towels, cooking equipment, coffee, a paddle boat, canoe & comfy beds etc. Your deck and hanging chairs were so relaxing. Weekends are busier on the lake and the week days are quiter .... All were good for us. Olympic National Park is stunning and it was great to be nearby so many beautiful places.

Cozy Cottage on Spectacular Lake

The cottage was sparkling clean upon our arrival. We would spend at this home again in a heart beat. It was exactly as advertised. The location on the lake was fantastic. We hiked Hurricane Ridge and Marymount Falls; both hikes are highly recommended and very easy. The lake is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed our peaceful time there immensely. Communication with Julie was fantastic.

Pure bliss

What you see is what you get. The house is very clean and well stocked with the little things you always seem to forget. It was perfect for a girls weekend! Hiking is plentiful, the use of the kayaks was truly appreciated and wonderful on the smooth lake, and the view provided true bliss at the end of the day. Julie is a pleasure as a host and made everything comfortable for us.

Beautiful Lake Sutherland Location

We stayed here for 6 nights in early August. The home and location are excellent! We had a great time boating and swimming at the lake. There's a really nice dock with a diving board, which was a hit with our 3 kids. The house is very comfortable and has everything thing you'll need including an excellent movie collection. The location is well positioned for day trips...we visited Sequim, the Dungeness Spit, the Olympic Game Farm, the Hoh Rain Forest and Hurricane Ridge. Julie (the owner) was very easy to get a hold of and was nice to deal with. I would definitely recommend this property.

Lakeside View

This cabin has been recently remodeled and is cute, spotless, cozy and comfortable. Owners have stocked the kitchen and bathroom with all the essentials plus more. Owners respond quickly to messages and questions. The view of the lake and walk-out deck are worth the rental frees. Only negative is that lake front area and dock are shared with several other families. During our stay one family had many guests all day every day and between all the adults, kids and teens, commandeered water access and enjoyment.

We were listed as cute, spotless, cozy, comfortable and well stocked, as well as responsive as well as the views and deck are worth the fees. We do have a community dock and lake front, it appears one of the owners had a family reunion during your stay. That happens rarely, but is a possibility and an opportunity to get to know others who love the lake! We try to make it clear that the months of July and August (especially on the weeks when it hits 80 degrees, everyone wants to go to the lake! so it can be busy. ) The best time to be at the lake when a person wants solitude would be April, June and September/October. We apologize that we may not have made that clear. That said, we hope you were able to access a little of the magic the lake has to offer, it is there for everyone.

Beautiful cabin

My friends and I stayed for 2 nights in mid September. The weather was beautiful, the lake was quiet. This location is ideal for visiting various parts of Olympic national park and other recreation areas. The cabin is clean and well stocked with beach towels, board games etc. Julie also let us use her kayaks and pedal boat, which was lots of fun. One thing to note about the departure checklist: it is requested that you wash towels and bedding and remake beds. So it is good to set aside a bit of time for tidying up.

Amazing experience

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful cabin. We travel frequently and prefer renting properties rather than staying in hotels when possible. This property is the best one we have ever rented. It is very well appointed and had everything we could possibly need and more. I really appreciated the hosts attention to detail. It was obvious this property is well taken care of and designed to be comfortable and functional. We felt at home immediately. The lake and surrounding area is gorgeous and although there are many cabins close by it was very quiet and peaceful. Thank you for an amazing experience!

Fun and relaxing!

No wifi! My kids unplugged and enjoyed the kayaking, paddleboating and swimming in the lake. Lounging on the deck and playing games was just what our family needed. You can be lazy or busy, both options are available. The house is adorable! Just like the pictures, and the kitchen is very well equipped, without feeling like the cabinets are overstuffed. We enjoyed the lake atmosphere and even saw Bald eagles fly by on 2 occasions. The owners were very nice and easy to deal with, and we had a great time. My kids already have asked if we can go back!

Gorgeous and relaxing

This little cottage us charming, immaculately clean and very well outfitted for cooking for yourself. The view is restful and relaxing. We had a wonderful stay.

Great on the lake property, quiet, clean, fully equipped

The property in on Lake Sutherland. We like the quiet morning kayaking and couldn’t be happier. The location is central to all main hikes. House is fully equipped, clean and in a quiet but friendly community and is very accurately described. Julie was a fantastic host. She shared some very good suggestions and her timely information saved our day. She’s literally a text or phone away and very prompt.

It was a little crazy with the all of the “interesting” local events popping up and everyone who wanted to visit the park etc. having to shift gears here and there. Another year, another great stay

I was a little worried about staying in a rental during the Covid-19 pandemic with my 10 year old, but all of my fears were allayed as soon as we walked into the cabin. In addition to having everything my son and I could want for fun outdoors (kayaks, fishing poles, great dock, zero entry beach area, etc.) there was plenty of soap, hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes. Everything is clean and tidy in the cabin, and I felt comfortable and safe the entire time. I will definitely be reserving the cabin again in 2022 and can't wait! I highly recommend this cabin, unless you're trying to reserve on the week that I want. :)

Lovely On A Few Conditions

The small house was very clean and neatly apportioned for two adults and two additional guests (e.g. children). There is a bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two bunks. Overall the unit is approximately 700 square feet of indoors space and a spacious deck with another 200 square feet of space. Lake Sutherland lays 25 yards before you with a gorgeous view. The unit comes with two kayaks, a paddleboat and one canoe. Oars and lifejackets are provided. In the morning, the placid lake is visited by hummingbirds, geese and eagles. In the evening you can roast marshmellos at the firepit. The house is well stocked with cleaning products, linens, and a standing washer dryer. The kitchen has almost anything a traveling chef could use--with a full sink, refrigerator and stove/oven. Given the summer heat, we were surprised to see that there is but one small fan in the entire house. It gets quite hot indoors due to the skylights and baking sun. The living room has a tiny television. The neighboring houses are but five feet on either side. If planning to host, this could be a problem. The owners stipulate that no more than six persons may be on property at any given time. The lake front is very quiet. There are hiking trails very near the house leading to mountain lakes and various inland heights. The closest trail, called B&W, is 100 yards from the property and is a super steep climb into lush rainforest. Highly recommended but it is a private trail for which you will need formal permission. [there’s a sign at the trail head with details] The unit does not have internet access. The listing does not clearly state this. Mobile service in the area is very spotty. In order to jump onto the internet, a guest must walk approximately 50 yards west to the owners’ other unit. Thus, if you are planning to actively work while at your home away from home, you will suffer this inconvenience. The owners are aware of this issue. It seems the installation of a second line (or a repeater) would be an easy fix. Overall, this is a quite relaxing place in an idyllic setting; however we found the price to be fairly steep for the value. We’ve stayed in multiple units around the world and have also rented our own properties. At this price point one can reasonably expect a greater deal of luxury, space, privacy, and communication technology.

Perfect spot to explore ONP!

The cottage was immaculate and the location superb. Right on beautiful Lake Sutherland with use of kayaks and a canoe. Kids were able to swim right from the house. Location allowed for easy access to explore all of Olympic National Park. Cottage was well-stocked with everything we needed and the location close to Granny's Cafe meant yummy breakfast and ice cream throughout the stay.

Great stay!

The owners were excellent, communicated well, and their property was very clean and nice. The cabin worked great for our family of four. Added bonus was having access to the owners kayaks and Lake Sutherland. Would absolutely recommend!

Well appointed, great location

This cabin is fantastic. It's well appointed, and has everything my family could want during our vacation. Canoe, kayaks, a peddle boat, fishing poles, a monster-sized dock with spring board...it was the perfect vacation for my two boys and myself. We can't wait to visit again next year and definitely will book the same house!

My husband and I grew up on Lake Sutherland. In fact, we own another property just four doors down from this one that we live in because the lake truly is, the only place to be!! We raised our own children at Lake Sutherland, and their fondest memories have all been made there as well. The mornings are my favorite time of the day when we walk out on our deck, coffee in hand, and just drink in all of the beauty that this magical place has to offer.
