Beautiful ravine panoramas, freshly refurbished hardwood floors, a beautiful 6+ person sauna, a central fireplace, and a massive field surrounded by old growth forest make this home the perfect 4 season getaway. Direct ATV/Snowmobile Trail Access (December 21st 2024) and space to park all your toy haulers. Located on a 20 acre lot. It has a ton of room to roam, hike, forage and play!

Place was great with plenty of space. Pros there was space and the sauna was great. The back fire pit was very nice to relax by. Only one complaint some of the wall plugs where not working and the lights would flicker. But I feel it was just do to the house being remodeled at the time. All in all a great place to stay!

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin in the woods. We spent quite a bit of time on the lovely deck out back that overlooks a wooded ravine - it offered a relaxing get-away from city life. We were pleasantly surprised by how few mosquitoes there were. We tried the sauna one night and it was lovely, and also had a campfire one evening when the temps were cooler.The house is spacious and well-equipped. It has clearly been cared for with many lovely features, such as large windows overlooking the ravine and custom wood trim. We enjoyed the homey feeling of the house, with a guitar for my husband to play, books to read, and real houseplants. We especially appreciated the many hooks for hanging jackets, dog leashes, towels, etc. The two back bedrooms are spacious and the beds are quite comfortable. The space could be a bit cleaner, but this is honestly what I expect from a house in the woods. The host was very quick to reply to any questions.

This property is perfect for a larger family gathering. Plenty of space and outdoor areas and although it is right on a road the back of the property feels as if you are tucked away into the woods. We had a great time and the host is close if anything is needed.

First one of the top reasons we picked this place was the sauna which was not working. The place was not very clean. The cabinets were dirty, the fans were so dirty you didn’t want to run them (there is only two window air conditioners) there is mold in the bathroom etc. along with a strong musty smell throughout the whole house. We do not feel the stay was worth the cost that was charged nor do we appreciate the false advertising with the sauna. We also found it very unprofessional that he added an additional charge to our stay after we had fully paid because he forgot to change it to the ‘summer’ rate. We will NOT be returning. We all couldn’t wait to go home to our own places and take clean showers. On top of it he isn’t good at responding to messages.

Great location, amble space for dog

We stayed for a family weekend with our adult son. Loved the proximity to hiking trails and restaurants & brewery in Washburn. The place isn't fancy, but was perfect for us. We enjoyed the sauna and campfires outside.

Nice location

We enjoyed sitting around the fire and viewing the beautiful woods that this property sat on. Our grandkids loved all the space to run around and explore. We could watch the deer meander through the woods while we drink our coffee through the kitchen windows. Very secluded and peaceful. The house was adequate for our stay.

Clean, quiet and secluded. One bedroom is up a ladder, only one bathroom. Nicely decorated with beautiful woodwork. Clothes dryer was not working at the moment so we had to hang some clothes.

Perfection in the northwoods

This spot fit our needs perfectly. A great location, close to orchards and the Great Lake, we spent a wonderful weekend enjoying all the property has to offer. With ample space for sleeping and lounging indoors, our favorites were the sauna with amazing windows for wilderness views, stargazing at night from the large fire pit in the woods, and the great host who made himself available for anything we needed. We will be back.

Kayaking for her birthday

Our group of 6 stayed her for 2 nights. We went kayaking on Lake Superior. Good location for that, quiet, peaceful, sleeps several, close to town. The negatives: the place has cob webs all over, fur on the ceiling fans, sticky stuff on cupboards. Nobal was great to work with, with a good Top to bottom cleaning It would be great.

When walking in the house there was a terrible smell, it was extremely musty smelling. It was extremely hot when we were there and the AC was not on. When we turned them both on (window units) the breaker blew and most of the house was dark. Fortunately the owners did respond to my message to let us know where the electrical panel was. The place does not sleep 12 like advertised (id say 3 couples and 1 single). Luckily we drove an RV, since we had to have 2 people sleep out there. Also had to have 1 person sleep on the couch as the bed in the loft was on the floor and it was very hot in the house. Internet didnt work unless you were outside behind kitchen, I believe the router needs to be moved. There was unfinished electrical in house which was fine for all us adults but would not be ideal if you have children. A lot of the outlets didn't work. One bedroom had bugs in it (beetles) with them in bed. No screens or locks on windows so couldn't air out smell, and back door didnt lock so we were not comfortable leaving our stuff there and packed up each day. We would not stay again.The good: well stocked bathroom and kitchen and owner did wash all bedding and vacuumed couches for us and they were pretty responsive. The location was really nice being out of town but so close to town. The sauna would be nice in the winter.

Well furnished

Host is top notch! Very accommodating, communicated well. House, while all connected 2 bedrooms kinda had their own suite which our 3 30 something children used while we had the bedroom at the front part of the house. Wood stove for additional heat was nice. We have stayed at many wonderful vacation homes over the years but this one was the most furnished home we have ever stayed at. Anything you need they gave. Also, a lot of organic food, cleaning supplies, etc. I felt like I was at my house.

Family time

Plenty of room to defuse with family after long day at beach, on water, touring and shopping in Bayfield/Apostle Islands. Appreciated new bedding! Loved the Sauna! Owner readily answered e-mailed questions regarding problems with internet d/t Spectrum service issues. Appreciated presence of Smoke detectors. Would add to rental description. Also appreciated charcoal grill. Easy check-in and check-out. Mild carpet odor. Expected when allows clients with dogs.

major disappointment

The house just had no appeal. There was a bad smell when you walked in that stayed throughout the house. The layout was chopped up, so that there was no comfortable place for the six of us to gather. We ended up using kitchen chairs to watch tv and talk. The single bathroom really made things hard. Thank goodness it was a congenial group. We all felt it was way overpriced for what it offered. No one was interested in sitting outside because of the bugs. There was one tiny tray of ice cubes in the freezer. Linens had seen better days. Beds creaked, window air conditioners were noisy and ineffective. It seemed no attempt had been made to make things comfortable or attractive. A great big disappointment. We'll probably laugh about it in the future, but for all these reasons, it was not fun to stay there.

The price for the stay did not reflect what we received. Main areas were unclean, diffuser in the main area was growing mold. Electricity on the outlets were hit or miss if they were working or not. Toilet clogged and didnt have a plunger, so we had to purchase one.
