The best view in town, in a clean comfy suite

Everything excelled here, from the check in, communication from the very pleasant front desk lady, to the excellent condition of the room. The view can't be beat of Round Lake and the boats coming through the bridge. Very convenient to walking downtown and the piers to the lake. Can't wait to stay again.

Edgewater Inn – A Luxurious Stay in Charlevoix, MI

Our stay at the Edgewater Inn in Charlevoix, Michigan, was absolutely incredible. The property was impeccably clean, and our room was both cozy and luxurious, with every detail thoughtfully prepared for ultimate comfort. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk to downtown, where we enjoyed charming shops, great restaurants, and the beautiful marina. The views from our balcony were breathtaking, offering serene water scenes and stunning sunsets that made our trip unforgettable. What really set the Edgewater Inn apart were the amazing amenities. We loved the indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi, which provided the perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The on-site gym was an added bonus, allowing us to stay active during our stay. Combined with its ideal location and peaceful atmosphere, this property delivered everything we could have hoped for in a getaway. Stay was fine

Everything was good except for the pool and hot tub. Water was very low in hot tub and it was cold. Pool was cooler than we would have liked. Sauna was great. Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there. View from the unit was awesome and we were able to see the drawbridge raise many times and the Beaver Island ferry came and went often.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Room was nice, very clean. Construction going on was more than we anticipated by the description given when we booked and when I talked personally to the resort. Resort did call and confirm we knew about construction and gave the opportunity to back out a few days before check in. Pool and workout area were disappointing. Great location, within walking distance of everything in town.

Our Edgewater stay

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 3-night stay was satisfactory and relaxing. Was disappointed that most all restaurants and stores were very understaffed making dinner and shopping experiences less that desirable. We do realize this is in no way fault of any kind of Edgewater. Condos were not much bigger than Hotel Suites at almost 2 1/2 times the cost.

Hello Teddy, We are sorry you were disappointed by the area attractions. I do appreciate your review and feedback. We do however provide a more home appeal than a hotel experience. With a full condo that overlooks the beautiful bay, channel and bridge: you also get a kitchen, full bathroom, balcony or walkout patio. We strive to keep most kitchen and bathroom items stocked as well as offer a guest laundry if needed. I sincerely hope you have a better trip next time! Rose GM

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We moved from 101 our favorite to 116 due to construction. Carly was so helpful and kind. 116 was comfortable but much smaller than we are used to. Really need a hall closet that renters can access. Nice kitchen, bath and living room are dark. Lighten it up in there with shiplap on the walls and ceiling.

Disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our refrigerator didn’t work, the TV didn’t work and the hallway smelled so strong of garlic we had to leave for hours at a time to get away from the odor.

Thank you for your feedback Michelle. I do recall your stay and the fridge issue. It has been replaced with a new one, and the spare fridge has been removed from the unit. Unfortunately we cannot control what other guests cook in the kitchens of the units they book. My apologies for your unpleasant experience. Rose

Generally Great, Specifically Okay

Room was clean, perfect size for 2 people. The kitchenware was a little lacking (small handful of mismatched plates, cups, mugs, silverware) but was fine for our purposes. Our room was located fairly close to the bridge, which was incredibly loud whenever a car passed over it (which was frequently). Eventually we we able to sort of tune it out, but would like to include as a fair warning to anyone else looking to rent who may be a light sleeper. Also, the hot tub was broken, and neither the hot tub or sauna could be used after 9pm, which cramped our plans to enjoy the hot tub/sauna after long days skiing.

Good Stay, Nice Area

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My stay at the Edgewater Inn was good. I would give it a 8/10 overall. The only reason it is not a 10/10 is the condition of the pool area. It seemed to be under some type of construction/repairs because there were loose nails and screws around the pool and even in the water. Also, there was loose wood planks laying around and weirdly placed wood planks screwed on above where you would transition from the indoor to outdoor pool area. There was a ceiling tile missing, exposing insulation. The pool needed a really good cleaning because of all the debris in it like bugs, leaves, random hair ties. And one last thing, the door for the entry way did not had a door knob and was drilled to oblivion. But without the pool area in the conversation, the location of the property was fantastic. It was right on the water next to the draw bridge so you could see all kinds of boats coming in and everything to do in downtown Charlevoix was in walking distance.

Watching the boats by the drawbridge is always a highlight! We’re sorry to hear about your concerns with the pool area. We want to assure you that as soon as we were made aware, we immediately sent someone to check the area, but at that time, they did not see any debris in the pool. The door knob you mentioned had unfortunately broken that morning, but it has already replaced. Nice stay watching the boats go by

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a nice visit at the Edgewater in beautiful Charlevoix. The accommodations were nice and shower was hot and clean. Layout of room made use of space and views. Be VERY careful in the pool area. Floor is sooooo slippery that I almost fell and I was being very careful. Dead bugs were everywhere and the pool is not an inviting place. Suggestions for improvement in my unit if room 116. Screen slider to get out on deck is extremely hard to slide. It needs maintenance. Balcony was loaded with bird poop. A good hosing down of cement should help the unit. Rugs are tired and need to be replaced or thrown out in bedroom. I would train front desk person to be more friendly and welcoming. It does not take much to smile and say “Welvome to the Edgewater resort”! I basically enjoyed my stay and enjoyed watching the boats go by. The cars and trucks going over the bridge adds noise so if you are prone to not liking noise than this is not the place for you.
