It’s a beautiful property with such rustic charm. Everything was clean and welcoming. The house is super spacious with room for everyone and then more. Loved our stay at Shady Pines! Even lost power on Christmas Day due to storms and the kids thought it was “so cool”. The wood burning fireplace was exceptional and brought the warmth needed. Thank you to our lovely hosts for providing a real Christmas tree with lights! We brought some decorations and even left them in a box in the garage for them to keep for future guests. Zero issues, other than we couldn’t find a flashlight- but we found plenty of light needed surrounding the fireplace and got to spend time as a family playing games with zero electronics. :) Can’t wait to come back.

Great family gathering space

We had so much fun staying here. Close to town and great hiking/fishing spots. The house was so cozy with plenty of room to gather and have our own privacy. The hot tub and grill with an awesome deck made the evenings :) our pup loved running around the yard!

Beautiful cabin

This was perfect for our needs, a secluded cabin large enough for the extended family to come together. The kitchen could have been better supplied for cooking and the hot tub was not clean enough to use, but we otherwise found it a great stay.

Awesome!!

The property is great and the views are beautiful off the back decks. Great property for dog owners to throw a ball and fetch with their favorite pooch. The Owner, Steven, is wonderful to work with and very flexible. The house provided us with everything we needed including lawn games and beach towels. We cannot wait to return! Oh, and super close to everything especially the golf course!

Beautiful and serene

Shady Pines had everything you could need, it was in such a beautiful setting and we didn't want to leave. The deck was so relaxing, and the yard is just so pretty. The jacuzzi was ahhhh-mazing!!! Plenty of space for the whole family to gather or to relax separately (which is nice after a long road trip together). Steven was friendly and communcative. Would definitely return!

Nice place!

Highly recommended for a memorable vacation experience! "Shady Pines" in Grass Valley is a hidden gem with stunning Pine Forest views. The house is tastefully appointed, providing all the comforts of home. The spacious deck and fenced-in yard are perfect for dog owners, offering plenty of room to enjoy. Despite having a neighbor next door, the fully fenced area ensures privacy. There are plenty of activities to explore in Grass Valley. Just remember to bring mosquito repellent. Overall it was a great place.

Lovely setting just a few minutes from town

Nice location and unique and attractive home. Flexible and accommodating host. Comfortable beds. Dog friendly huge back deck and fully fenced in yard. Big garage available for storing car or gear. Feels deep in the country, yet large grocery stores (SPD, Raleys) are just 10 minutes away. Kitchen could use a few more pots and pans, bowls, a colander, etc. beyond the selection of basics that are there. Fast electric stove and efficient hood fan/light. Looks like work to upgrade other things is in process (small microwave on counter works fine while brand-new bigger built-in one doesn't appear to be connected yet). Big "smart" TV's in multiple rooms (you log in with your own Netflix acct for instance). Could use a bit more lighting in the evenings though the huge windows make it great in the day. We used the A/C unit on the living room wall (which did the trick downstairs but not so much for the upstairs bedrooms), but might have missed out on the whole house heat pump (didn't try to turn it on) because we didn't notice the control for that until the last day.
