Ask the friendly locals to point you in the direction of THEIR favorite walking trail, bike path or watering hole. Go in search of the world famous Yuba & American Rivers. Not to miss.

During your visit, don't miss the opportunity to visit historic sites in Grass Valley and Nevada City; both just minutes away. You'll be sure to bring home a special purchase and wonderful memories. It’s a beautiful property with such rustic charm. Everything was clean and welcoming. The house is super spacious with room for everyone and then more. Loved our stay at Shady Pines! Even lost power on Christmas Day due to storms and the kids thought it was “so cool”. The wood burning fireplace was exceptional and brought the warmth needed. Thank you to our lovely hosts for providing a real Christmas tree with lights! We brought some decorations and even left them in a box in the garage for them to keep for future guests. Zero issues, other than we couldn’t find a flashlight- but we found plenty of light needed surrounding the fireplace and got to spend time as a family playing games with zero electronics. :) Can’t wait to come back.

Highly recommend! The property is beautiful, larger than the pictures show. Quite private, we didn't see the neighbors. Everything was in working order, and communicating with Steven was great - he kept everything simple and easy. The kitchen was stocked with some basic staples. Despite some of the cons I've listed, I would absolutely go back! Go check out Shady Pines!!Pros:-Very cozy living room and master bedroom-Heated bathrooms-Hot Tub!-VERY comfortable king bed that adjusts upright with a controller-Leaf blower to clear the deck of pine needles-Dog friendly!-Completely fenced in yard and driveway, so our pup could run around freely.-Garage with space for 1 car.Cons:-The light switches are weird. There were still some lights I couldn't figure out.-The split units in the family room and bedroom take a while to heat the spacious and vaulted ceilinged rooms, but they're still effective-My girlfriend is sensitive and got some "weird vibes" from some areas of the house, but we just shut those doors and moved on. Might seem silly to mention that, but could impact some guests.-While the windows in the living room and master are gorgeous, they face the neighbor's yard, which is not well maintained..

Great family gathering space

We had so much fun staying here. Close to town and great hiking/fishing spots. The house was so cozy with plenty of room to gather and have our own privacy. The hot tub and grill with an awesome deck made the evenings :) our pup loved running around the yard!

Beautiful cabin

This was perfect for our needs, a secluded cabin large enough for the extended family to come together. The kitchen could have been better supplied for cooking and the hot tub was not clean enough to use, but we otherwise found it a great stay.

Awesome!!

The property is great and the views are beautiful off the back decks. Great property for dog owners to throw a ball and fetch with their favorite pooch. The Owner, Steven, is wonderful to work with and very flexible. The house provided us with everything we needed including lawn games and beach towels. We cannot wait to return! Oh, and super close to everything especially the golf course!

Beautiful and serene

Shady Pines had everything you could need, it was in such a beautiful setting and we didn't want to leave. The deck was so relaxing, and the yard is just so pretty. The jacuzzi was ahhhh-mazing!!! Plenty of space for the whole family to gather or to relax separately (which is nice after a long road trip together). Steven was friendly and communcative. Would definitely return!

Nice place!

Highly recommended for a memorable vacation experience! "Shady Pines" in Grass Valley is a hidden gem with stunning Pine Forest views. The house is tastefully appointed, providing all the comforts of home. The spacious deck and fenced-in yard are perfect for dog owners, offering plenty of room to enjoy. Despite having a neighbor next door, the fully fenced area ensures privacy. There are plenty of activities to explore in Grass Valley. Just remember to bring mosquito repellent. Overall it was a great place.
