Great place to stay

The cabin was excellent with pretty much everything we could need for cooking and relaxing. The beds were fantastic. The property was huge and had a great view. It was nice and quiet. Overall, great place.

Great cabin

Stayed here for a state fishing tournament for my son and we had a great time. The cabin was on beautiful property and just as listed. It is right on the water so the views were stunning. Cabin was clean and comfy. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay on the island.

Peaceful, relaxing getaway!

Great cabin on island

4 friends stayed the night on way to Canada. Had a blast. Cabin very clean and updated. Loved Sugar Island. Great view of the water, very relaxing.

Cute, Cozy Cabin

We loved our weekend stay at Sugar Cove. The cabin is super cute and comfortable. Everything we needed was provided, including kitchen supplies, cozy blankets, comfortable bedding, and a selection of DVDs for evening movies. There is no WiFi, but we had good cell reception.Thank you for sharing your pet friendly space for a relaxing weekend up north.

Weekend get away on the river.

The beds are like sleeping on clouds, but you need a better movie selection. Beautiful spot on the river.Lots of privacy, lots of wildlife in the area.And you don't really need videos to have a good time there. A great week

We loved the cabin, the property, the view, the peace and quiet, the genuine feeling of getting away from it all. Plenty to do in the surrounding area —Great Lakes museums, Taqhamenon Falls, the Soo Locks, watching massive freighters navigate the St. Mary’s River. We could not have asked for a better week.

Secluded Island Paradise

Cozy, comfortable cabin

What a peaceful place to get away and relax. Only was there for an overnight, but would definitely like to come back and spend some time exploring the island and surrounding area. Took advantage of the kayaks at the cabin to get out on the river and had a relaxing fire and watched the sunset. Fred and Candace are wonderful hosts. Highly Recommend!

Quaint and cozy cabin on a beautiful property! The cabin was very clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was excellent. We would definitely stay again. Wish we could have stayed longer! Just a note that once on the island there is only one bar that serves food, and one nice little store that has a good variety of necessities, so plan accordingly.

In Love with Sugar Cove!!

My family loved our stay at Sugar Cove. The hosts have put great thought into ensuring you have a pleasant stay. The property has amazing views of the St. Mary’s River and is stocked with outdoor amenities for all. There is a full kitchen which made staying on Sugar Island so relaxing. The Westshore Store has everything you would need if you forget anything and even has ice cream for the kiddos. I’ve read reviews about no cellphone service but all our devices worked fine (Verizon). We will definitely visit Sugar Cove again soon.

Outstanding Cottage

Definitely had the wow factor. Great view, beautiful grounds and very well appointed cottage. But we were just two fisherman who needed a location. I visited Sugar Island for 30 years and this place is very, very nice!! Hope to come back

We have lived on Sugar Island since 2016 and are enjoying the island life in Northern MI. Cabin has been totally renovated in 2021. Everything is new, clean and awaiting your arrival.

Property is private and the waterfront is sandy with a shared dock. Close to the Ferry and DNR boat launch. We have 3 kayaks and life jackets included. Could accommodate extra camping, contact us for information.

Picturesque waterfront with shared dock. Sandy beach and the best sunsets around. Spacious grassy yard for outdoor entertainment. Wildlife abound including moose, black bear, numerous waterfowl and much more. Enjoy what the Upper Peninsula has to offer lot's within an hour from the island.
