Everything about the stay was great. The instructions and communication prior to arrival with Richard were complete and clear. The property was clean, stocked with all necessities needed to enjoy the weekend. The location is perfect for local crabbing, fishing and offers the perfect spot for getting away with friends and family to unwind. We've stayed multiple times at Richard's place and are always amazed at how beautiful the sunrises and sunsets are along with the perfect hospitality that Richard offers. Great hunt/fishing camp and as-advertised overlooking the Mermentau River with 14 queen beds. Our Univ of Louisiana civil engineering group used it as base camp for our community service event. Host was available to communicate and address any questions.

Crabbing Trip

Remote and quiet. Police patrol regularly. Beautiful home with everything needed and plenty of room. We felt very comfortable here and will definitely be back again. There are good fishing spots within a 15 minute drive. Very good communication with the owner. He made us feel very welcome on a personal level like we were family and not like a business deal.

We had a wonderful week!! The house has everything we needed and it’s situated on the banks of the Mermentau River. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises!! Richard is probably the nicest host I’ve encountered. He checked in to make sure we were comfortable and gave us tips on places to crab and fish! Perfect stay!!

Everything about our stay was amazing. Richard, the owner, was in constant communication with me. Everything was clean, well maintained, and ready for us. Crabbing and Family Reunion

Property easily enables our large family to gather for a weekend reunion. The lodge encourages conversation around the large table, family room, and the back deck. Seated on the deck we watched dolphins, pelicans, ducks, and fowl feed on the river. Near by Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge gave us a chance to experience great crabbing success. This was our fourth stay.

The Best Camp in LA

We had a great time. Very clean all the rooms have plenty of room. Beautiful view and kind of secluded area. Owner communicated immediately, answered any questions we had, and would check on us making sure we didn’t need anything. Would definitely stay there again.
