Brand new luxury home with 2 BDRs, each with private bath. Set in Old Mandeville on Bayou Castine, 32 miles from downtown New Orleans. Constructed in 2021 the property comes equipped with an elevator, a state of the art kitchen, formal dining area, and separate office. Enjoy the sounds of nature as you relax in the outdoor entertainment area with flatscreen TV, grill, and comfortable seating. Adjacent to this area is a walkway leading to a covered dock with views of the bayou and Fontainebleau State Park.
This convenient location gives access to 27 miles of a paved path for walking, jogging, and biking, traversing from Old Mandeville through Abita Springs to downtown Covington. To help you explore the area 2 bikes and 1 kayak are provided with your rental. Less than a mile away is the Mandeville lakefront which has everything from pubs to fine dining.

Wohlfühloase

Sehr gute Ausstattung ist in diesem Haus vorhanden,es fehlte an nichts.Vorhänge zum verdunkeln wären noch wünschenswert,dass man nicht zu früh geweckt wird.Sehr schönes Ferienhaus.Kommen gerne wieder.

Weekend Getaway

What a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. If you want a weekend getaway... here is a MUST. Surrounding by nature and felt like we were taken to another place. Gated and the foliage makes it feel very secluded but was close to everything. Check in and out was a breeze. House instructions were easy to follow and understand. We will be coming back I am sure!

“Staycay” on the Bayou

The property delivered everything promised and then some. The place was immaculate. The art was colorful and appropriate for the bayou aesthetic. There was so much room to relax or play. Plenty of activities in the rec room - bicycles, darts, canoes, cornhole even ping pong! We threw a line or two , but no bites. The birds were amazing, waking us peacefully in the mornings. Words cannot adequately describe this rental. It simply needs to be experienced!

Wedding Day

We used this beautiful property for all of the girls to get ready prior to my wedding. Everything went smoothly and the property was amazing with ample amount of space. I confirmed my “extra event” I was having with the owner prior to the stay and have proof of our conversation, i received multiple instances of my wedding party encountering the owner of the property asking questions about what was happening. I’m not sure how much interaction is allowed, but 3 instances seemed excessive to me. Other than that, my stay was amazing and i had a lot of compliments on the property.

Perfect Location for a Tranquil & Relaxing Holiday

This property is modern, well equipped & decorated to the highest standard.It is located on the Bayou within easy reach of Old Mandeville. It has direct access to the Bayou itself (with it's own dock, canoe & kayak), and is only yards from the 'Trace' with over 30 miles of paved cycle / walking paths (the property has 2 bikes).The property is in a most tranquil setting, made for relaxing ..... whether that be watching the wildlife (alligators & birds are abundant): walking into the old town (lovely shops & restaurants, and the lakefront): having a day on the bayou: biking the trace: or simply sitting in the sun on one of the properties 2 balconies overlooking the bayou..The owners of the property live nearby and are friendly & helpful, yet unobtrusive.We spent 17 nights at the property (our 3rd visit), and on this occasion the car never left the drive - except for a number of evening trips to the nearby towns of Covington & Slidell to sample some fabulous Blues music.I have no hesitation in recommending this property, and indeed look forward to returning again next year.

A quiet jewel

This is a beautiful house on a beautiful little bayou. It's not a place for big parties or going out to nightclubs. It's a place for sitting on the dock or taking a kayak out into the lovely serene bayou to see birds and deer. It's for late dinner with good friends and conversation sitting down at the dock. I hope to be back.

Wonderful Stay at Cypress

We had a wonderful time at Cypress on bayou Castine. The house is beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you could need with excellent instructions for use. It was exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The views of the bayou and surrounding area made the trip very relaxing. We would recommend this property to anyone.

Best Stay Ever!

I seldom leave reviews, and I have never given a 5/5 review. But that was before we stayed at Cypress. The driveway and grounds are behind a private gate. The ground floor is mostly open air just in case of very high water. A small elevator can take luggage and passengers up to the second floor. (This was very helpful for us since my wife has health problems.) The interior is absolutely beautiful! The decor is modern, and the house is tastefully appointed. The kitchen is provisioned with everything required for anyone who likes to cook. The outdoor facilities are incredible! One of the two wooden boardwalks takes you across a part of the bayou to a quiet little peninsula where you can just sit and watch the bayou flow past. The other wooden boardwalk leads to a dock/sitting area on the edge of the bayou. Sitting on the dock in the early morning with a cup of coffee watching the mist rise from the water was very calm and restorative. We took the canoe upstream as far as the road, watching the birds and dragonflies as the fish rose to the surface, just loving being out in nature. But we were only minutes away from cafes, restaurants and stores. My wife and I initially selected Cypress because it had two full bedrooms and allowed us to include a friend in our visit. When we visit the area again, we will always check to see if Cypress is available, even if only the wife and I will be staying there. As the title says, our stay at Cypress was the best ever!

Magical bayou experience

Cypress was beyond our expectations. We absolutely loved everything about the property. We utilized the canoe on two different morning and paddled down the bayou. We rode bikes to down the Tammany Trace to Fontainebleau State Park and enjoyed the beach for an afternoon. We watched tv below deck and just relaxed as a family. And coffee on the balcony was a favorite each morning. Cypress was perfect in every way and we will return. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.
