There are many beautiful areas to enjoy in the surrounding areas. However, our stay had some unexpected challenges. Hopefully this honest review will provide some helpful details to future guests.
We arrived to find the cabin had not been cleaned. So we spent our first few hours waiting for the property manager to arrange for someone to come and clean and provide fresh linens and towels. Fortunately, Carol, who pinch hit at the last minute, was extremely pleasant. (After several follow up phone calls, we were appropriately compensated for the difficult start to our stay.)
While the view of the surrounding peaks from the balcony is truly fantastic… one detail is missing from the pictures. The cabin is immediately above a HUGE RV park. We were super nervous about this as we drove through the park to reach the cabin as it was a total surprise to us. In fairness, I will say we didn’t hear much noise from below and most of the park is obscured by the trees, but personally I would have much preferred knowing about it in advance.
The appliances in the kitchen are aging. The stove won’t heat above 350 degrees… so don’t plan on cooking a pizza (as we planned to do on our first night). However, I will give props for having both a propane grill and a small charcoal BBQ, complete with provided briquettes.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but will probably look elsewhere in the future when we visit the area.
