This resort is rich in European heritage and Victorian-styled suites that makes you feel as if you've stepped into the 18th century, grand and utterly majestic!

Approximately 344-585 square feet, this state of the art studio features 1 Queen Bed or 2 Full Beds, and 1 Sofa Bed in the living area including a mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot, bathroom and laundry situated in the common area. Maximum of 4 occupants.

Additional amenities include: cable television and DVD player.


The person checking in must be 21 years of age (or older). With this notion, please prepare a VALID ID and credit card in your name. A $100 Pre-Authorization from any major credit card upon checking in is required. Cash is not accepted. After purchase you will receive an email confirmation showing your name on the reservation as the guest checking in within 14 days of check in date. Please bring a valid form of Picture ID. However, if you would like to change the name of the person checking in after you have provided this information, there will be a $99.00 name change fee. Any damages will be charge upon check-out.

Resort check- in time is 4 p.m. and check-out time is 10 a.m. The nearest airport to The Lodge Alley Inn is Charleston International (CHS) which is 13 miles by car respectively.

Hence, if you have any concerns, our office are open 24 hours to respond to your requests. For here at The Lodge Alley Inn we ensure that your stay is comfortable and well-served to your satisfaction.


*** Parking Policy ***

Off-site valet parking. Cost: $33 per night for Bluegreen Owners; $38 per night for Non-Bluegreen Owners. Handicap parking in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St., or metered street parking, with a valid sticker or placard is free, however the owner must park their own vehicle. If someone with a handicap placard or sticker wishes to valet, they are subject to the same Owner/Non-Owner daily rates. Owners and guests may self-park in the city public parking garage located at 1 Cumberland St. for $2/hour, max $18/day without moving the vehicle. After midnight or when the vehicle is moved out and back into the garage, the clock resets and $2/hour, max $18/day rate begins. One vehicle per reservation. No trailers, RVs, motorcycles, or oversized vehicles allowed. City public parking phone: (843) 805-3232. The resort is not responsible for any damages to vehicles while in the public parking garage.


*** Pet Policy ***

No pets allowed. Subject to $300 fine. However, pets are permitted in RV parks only.

No smoking inside, including electronic cigarettes. Subject to $300 fine, unless if it's in a designated area.

Two-story (loft) units typically have spiral staircases, and other unit types also have staircases. We cannot guarantee unit placement. Due to the historic nature of the buildings, floor plans and exact sizes will vary among rooms and suites. While The Lodge Alley Inn does not offer daily maid service, complimentary towel exchange is available for guests staying less than 7 days. For guests staying 7 days or more, a complimentary mid-week cleaning service is provided. The Lodge Alley Inn is located in the heart of Downtown Charleston. Due to the urban location of the resort, guests may expect to hear city or street noise from guest rooms. The resort has white noise machines, ear plugs, and box fans available on request to help ease city, street and traffic noise.

Perfect location

Stayed at The Lodge Alley Inn for a family wedding that took place in the court yard. The location was perfect as we were able to see so many sights without having a car or worrying about parking. Would definitely stay here again.

We booked through VRBO and contacted them for help when The Lodge Alley Inn called us 2 nights into our stay telling us we had to move that morning into another room and they would let us know when that room would be available. We were also informed by the Lodge that we were going to be required to move 2 more times during our 5 night stay. Out of the room by 10 and then we would be able to get in by 3 to our new room. VRBO told us we didn’t have to move. Lodge Alley said yes we did. They both blamed each other. Back home talked again w/VRBO and they stated to call the host, Resort Rental Pros. After talking with RRP’s they state there is nothing they can do. (I do want to mention the site states you may be reassigned to a new suite for housekeeping purposes.) Would not book with these companies again nor stay here since this is a regular occurrence per the Lodge. JD

Buyer Beware!

My husband booked this property for 5 nights, 2 months in advance and paid for it in full. 48 hours before we were to leave for this trip, we received a phone call from the the Resorts agent who was managing the property, telling us that “three of the five nights of our reservation were secure but 2 nights were missing”. Missing???? They recommended we give the agency 24 to 48 hours to try and find another room for us for the two “missing” nights. (I’ll say it again We were LEAVING in 48 hours) We had flights and car rental in place for this five night vacation. They apologized for this “inconvenience “ Inconvenience??? They admitted they knew about this for a while but were just contacting us 48 hours before our trip was to begin. They had no explanation for this mistake and were not able to get in touch with the owner of the property either. Their only offering was to cancel our trip completely with a refund or go anyway while they were trying to find us the missing 2 nights When we checked in to the room, we were put in a room that was different than the one shown on VRBO. The following days we didn’t hear from the listing agent regarding our “missing days”. My husband had to call them only to confirm that- guess what- there were NO rooms for us to finish out the last two days of our trip. So we packed up and left the downtown Charleston area and checked into a hotel on Daniel Island. We were told we would get a refund for the “missing 2 nights “ We shall see… We ended up spending more money on the hotel that we did on the VRBO $$$ thanks to them. This agency, Resorts, should be banned from renting in Charleston and removed from the VRBO platform. Buyer beware!!!

Great Girls Weekend

The location was outstanding, the staff were all very friendly. The way the room was set up was perfect for four people. The only areas for improvement are the room was warm at night, the thermostat was not correct at all, there was a strong musty smell in the room and the coffee pot did not work properly.

Great Location

Enjoyed the downtown location right in the heart of East Bay st. We could walk to anything. We had a car and it was expensive to park and valet it, but I guess that goes along with the very busy downtown location. Everyone was nice there. Would have loved to been able to see out of the windows facing the street, they didn’t appear to have been cleaned in quite some time. The amenities were great in the room. The only issue we had was that the room above us (we were in 204 of main bldg) was full of people - and small kids - and they scooted furniture and ran and jumped all night. We called down to the front desk at 1 am ish and no improvement until about 3 am. Not sure what could be done about this but not much sleep for a couple of nights. The other nights we’re a little noisy but tolerable. Loved the room and the layout, the location was wonderful.
