The resort exceeded expectations. We had a great family vacation. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet even though it’s an apartment. We loved the convenience of the kitchen and main floor shop. The pool and beach were excellent ways to spend time between adventures off property.

Great for Family

The Honua Kai is one of the favorite resorts on Maui. The grounds are immaculate and the beach access is fantastic with amazing sunset views daily! My kids (13 and 15) loved the pools. Access to Lahaina was easy and we used the beach walk regularly to explore. The unit was clean and perfect for what we needed. My kids found the pull out sofa comfortable. The 2 sets of snorkel gear, beach chairs and cooler came in handy. Check in and out was a breeze and communication was great.

Wonderful time in Hawaii

My wife and I stayed here for eight days in January. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed it. We were worried, but Maui was as good as we had remembered it. The place was clean and well organized and stocked. The resort had lots of water fun. We loved the check in at all areas, for parking, for towels, for the door code, etc., was all set for us and made checkin and checkout so easy. We loved our stay here and would definitely consider it again.

Lovely Resort

We stayed at the Honua Kai Resort in March of 2025. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, and it is literally right on a beach that is great for swimming and watching nightly sunsets. We were extremely happy with the pools, jacuzzis, lobby market place, the gym, and nearby amenities. Our individual unit was perfect for my husband and I but could also accommodate a small family. The grounds and parking were gated and we felt very safe throughout our stay. A grocery store is literally across the street… very convenient. We hope to return and would love to stay here again! We highly recommend this resort!

Everything we wanted

I stayed at this property in Oct/2024 with my husband and 2 boys ages 7 and 9. This property was perfect for our famiky of 4. The pullout couch was comfortable for my boys, the kitchen had everything we needed to make our own breakfasts and lunches, and the beach chairs/cooler/boogie board provided were an amazing perk. The pools were awesome and we loved snorkeling right off of the beach! Id highly recommend this property!

Beautiful condo and great location

I helped my father book this condo as he was traveling with my family (myself, husband and three children) who were also staying in the same hotel. The hotel was beautiful, the staff lovely, the pools SO much fun, the check in/out process easy, but the greatest part? There is the most incredible snorkeling at the beach directly in front of the hotel. We saw countless tropical fish and sea turtles! We will definitely stay here again as soon as possible.

Its clean and well taken care of. I would say it’s the perfect place to chill, all of our group said how relaxed they felt. Ocean View was excellent for Whale watching. More loungers at pool would be a bonus

Our travel plans experienced a small glitch and we needed a place to stay our second week in Maui! Through VRBO we found Hanua Kai. Our contact was Marcie. She responded quickly to our need.
