The resort exceeded expectations. We had a great family vacation. The room was clean and comfortable. It was also very quiet even though it’s an apartment. We loved the convenience of the kitchen and main floor shop. The pool and beach were excellent ways to spend time between adventures off property.

We absolutely loved this unit and resort! The unit is as nice as it is pictured. The resort is even better than pictured. We came as a family of 4 (our kids are 4 and 7 years old). The king bed was very comfortable, there was a pull out bed in the couch but we used our travel air mattresses for our kids. You can only see a peek of the ocean on the side of patio but the view is still really pretty of the grounds and views of sunset/sunrise. When we came, the closet had 2 adult snorkel masks/breathing tubes, 1 beach umbrella, 1 backpack cooler, and 2 beach chairs with storage pockets. The stacked washer and dryer have very small capacities so plan for that. The dryer isn't the greatest so we would need to dry our clothes a couple of times so plan for that too. The unit is really nice and beautiful inside, definitely feels luxurious. The resort is absolutely amazing too. It has 4-5 different pools. One pool is 3-3.5 foot deep which was great for our kids to stand on their own in and that pool was also an infinity pool. Another pool had a slide and a couple of waterfalls you can go under, our kids loved this pool. The other pool we thought would be a lazy river but it didn't have a current. The beach is hardly a walk at all, it's super close. It actually ended up being our favorite beach on the island - calm waters and the most fish we saw snorkeling and the only time we saw a sea turtle. Having Dukes restaurant at the resort was convenient (though pricey). Amazing stay for us!

Perfect Paradise

Great for Family

The Honua Kai is one of the favorite resorts on Maui. The grounds are immaculate and the beach access is fantastic with amazing sunset views daily! My kids (13 and 15) loved the pools. Access to Lahaina was easy and we used the beach walk regularly to explore. The unit was clean and perfect for what we needed. My kids found the pull out sofa comfortable. The 2 sets of snorkel gear, beach chairs and cooler came in handy. Check in and out was a breeze and communication was great.

Lovely Resort

We stayed at the Honua Kai Resort in March of 2025. The resort is beautiful, the grounds are lovely, and it is literally right on a beach that is great for swimming and watching nightly sunsets. We were extremely happy with the pools, jacuzzis, lobby market place, the gym, and nearby amenities. Our individual unit was perfect for my husband and I but could also accommodate a small family. The grounds and parking were gated and we felt very safe throughout our stay. A grocery store is literally across the street… very convenient. We hope to return and would love to stay here again! We highly recommend this resort!

Wonderful time in Hawaii

My wife and I stayed here for eight days in January. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed it. We were worried, but Maui was as good as we had remembered it. The place was clean and well organized and stocked. The resort had lots of water fun. We loved the check in at all areas, for parking, for towels, for the door code, etc., was all set for us and made checkin and checkout so easy. We loved our stay here and would definitely consider it again.

Our travel plans experienced a small glitch and we needed a place to stay our second week in Maui! Through VRBO we found Hanua Kai. Our contact was Marcie. She responded quickly to our need. Everything we wanted

I stayed at this property in Oct/2024 with my husband and 2 boys ages 7 and 9. This property was perfect for our famiky of 4. The pullout couch was comfortable for my boys, the kitchen had everything we needed to make our own breakfasts and lunches, and the beach chairs/cooler/boogie board provided were an amazing perk. The pools were awesome and we loved snorkeling right off of the beach! Id highly recommend this property!

The room was clean and the host messaged a list of close instructions. The sink was leaking and the freezer door wouldn’t stick properly so all the ice melted overnight. But overall everything was great and was well equipped for your convenience. Bed was a bit uncomfortable but sheets were soft and the room smelled clean and looks like it’s well maintained.

Wonderful summer vacation in Maui

We recently stayed here for our summer vacation with two small kids. We had a great time and this property was perfect for our family! The check in process was super easy, and the unit had everything we could ask for, even coffee, a nice sofa bed, and beach chairs/umbrella! It was spacious and had a nice patio with a partial view of the ocean. We had a kitchen which made it easier for us to cook breakfast and prepare lunch for days at the pool and beach. We also love the pools and the fact that the beach is right in front of the property and literally a short walk away. I highly recommend staying in this unit, and we will definitely be back next year!

Beautiful condo and great location

I helped my father book this condo as he was traveling with my family (myself, husband and three children) who were also staying in the same hotel. The hotel was beautiful, the staff lovely, the pools SO much fun, the check in/out process easy, but the greatest part? There is the most incredible snorkeling at the beach directly in front of the hotel. We saw countless tropical fish and sea turtles! We will definitely stay here again as soon as possible.
