Oregon Jade Lodging: West Linn is the top two most favorable residential areas in Oregon. The guest units is newly remolded, in the beautiful, friendly and upscale neighborhood by a stream. Tesla charger available after 10pm with prior arrangements. Guests have private entrance, private deck facing back yard with full grown trees and separate outdoor sitting area. Living sofa bed can accommodate 2 small guests. Large dinning table for 6 guest, Family room has sofa and chair for chill or down time. Two bedrooms each has 1 queen bed, Designated desk for work.
Enjoy the beautiful environment but close to town- only 20 minutes from downtown Portland and 5 minutes from freeway down north or south Oregon. No full kitchen.
City of West Linn only allows short term rental to be legal when owners live onsite. So we live upstairs. Because VRBO can’t collect city and county tax there will be 12% additional lodging tax to be collected after the booking is confirmed.
Due to insurance and safety issue, please do not invite any unpaid guest for gathering.

It was nice and clean but loud in the morning at 7 am when we would have wanted to sleep in very noisy upstairs.. That would be my only complaint is the noise from the owners living above.I didn’t realize it was an attached VRBO

Peaceful and Relaxing

Had a wonderful stay in West Linn. Gloria is so welcoming and made sure everything was perfect. We were able to catch up on rest and enjoy the beautiful trees and birds in the backyard. Would definitely stay again.

stay to be close for a wedding

The unit looks out into a forest making it feel very remote and lovely. the neighborhood is very secure and upper middle class with no through traffic and very quiet and safe.

Very pleasant stay

Pleasant accommodations. Very spacious. Private and lovely view. It was great to be able to sleep with the windows open to enjoy the crisp summer air. Gloria was very sweet about the mix up on our dates which was totally our fault, so thank you for that. A little confusing to find the location, but that is just because West Linn is so curvy and hilly.

Beautiful location but . . .

The appartment was clean and comfortable and in a nice area. The view from our door was of a beautiful forest! We were able to hear talking and people walking above us quite clearly, and a blender at 7:30 one morning. I took note because it was during quiet hours. We could also smell the cooking from above.

Hi Kelly, Thank you for your stay and comment. Glad you enjoy the surrounding and spend some time at our deck. We also like sitting outside to enjoy the view. Sorry for our voice from the upper deck. I didn't find quite hours in my listing. May be I take it off since it is Summer? Anyway, sorry for the blender noise. Just to let you know, it is illegal to rent the whole property without the owner living on site for West Linn, if you end up coming back West Linn and stay in legal renal, you will end up sharing the space with the owner and hear each other.

Our Stay

Was very excited about our weekend stay and when I saw the firepit and outside area on the pics, it was what we were looking for. Sadly once we got there, the benches outside where broken and particle board was on top of firepit. Also, the footsteps above from the owners/residents where pretty loud. There was no stove which was really disappointing.

Thank you for your review. However, please read the listing carefully before you make reservations next time. My listing clearly stated there is no stove, owners live onsite upstairs. The fire pit has a board to protect it from rain so the wood underneath can be burnt. There is a picnic bench covered with tarp to keep it clean for sitting. You just didn’t request access to the fire pit area.

West Linn stay

The place was nice and clean but there were a few problems. There wasn’t enough hot water for showers and because the place was below the owners home we could hear everything above: walking, talking and the use of a blender around 6:00 am. It didn’t feel very private.

I am sorry to hear about your friend's feedback. For the hot water, as I mention, it is a tankless, so we need to keep the water running for a little while before hot water comes. Quite time is between 10pm and 8am. It is not true that we use the blender at 6am when we are all sleeping. There was only one day when we use the blender around 8:30am.

The site is an apartment in a house in a nice neighborhood. However, the apartment is not put together well. The entry is down a flight around back and up a flight - not ideal if you have any accessibility issues. The owners living quarters are right above the apartment. There was a lot of noise, conversation and stomping around at dinner and breakfast time. One of the two bedrooms has glass doors that are not well covered by a curtain, resulting in lots of light leakage and privacy issues. The kitchen is very limited -- a dorm refrigerator, a toaster oven, and a coffee pot. It might be okay for one guest.

Thank you for your review. However all the issues you mentioned in your reviews are described and shown clearly in the listing description and photos. We have a lot of groups in 3-5 persons staying and had good time.

Kitchenette was awkward. We may as well been staying in a motel. Tiny refrigerator. Hard to find utensils. No cooking possible. To call it a kitchenette was a stretch.The space was oddly configured and when we arrived there were no lights on, it was really cold. The light switch’s were hard to find in the dark. Just not warm and inviting. The beds were comfortable though and it was fairly quiet when the people upstairs weren’t walking around. If I had known ahead of time that the unit was in the basement I would have reconsidered. Also it wasn’t very clean. Hair in the shower when we arrived and food scraps dried on to the dishes and silverware. Blood stain on the couch and something brown on the furry comforter. Dusty everywhere.They said we could use the fire pit area but it was not set up at all. Furniture knocked over and not accessible. Looked like they’d had a storm and hadn’t cleaned up after.It was ok but I wish we had stayed elsewhere.

You are another person who doesn’t like to read . I repeatedly mention that we live upstairs and also have all the amenities on the listing photos and descriptions. You didn’t reply my message during your stay about what we can do to make your stay better and tell me you had a lovely stay but complain all these without any evidence after you check out.

Great little 2-bedroom

The hosts were great and we enjoyed our stay. This apartment is downstairs with its own entrance and a lovely deck looking out on the forest (you can hear a creek, but the foliage is thick so you can't see it) with lots of birds and we saw deer and a raccoon. As others have said, you can hear minor noise from the upstairs family, but they're courteous and friendly and it's nothing to worry about. It may be helpful to others to point out that there's a good long flight of stairs down to the entrance. Bedrooms were comfortable, as was the dining room, and we appreciated all the seating in the living space. We were there for a weekend wedding and we'd stay here again if the need arose.

Cozy West Linn Stay

I so enjoyed this vrbo! Gloria left clear instructions on how everything works, including a charming wood-pellet fire, and allowed my family privacy while still making herself available via text. The location is hilly and beautiful for an evening stroll and groceries etc are around a mile away. Lots of outdoor deck space space relax and beautiful backyard featuring a creek. Thank you for a great stay!

House was great for what we needed

Good find...near Lake Oswego!

We were surprised that this site is in the middle of a residential community. The pictures and words "green space available" led us to believe that we would be "off the beaten track." But we did enjoy our stay in the lower level of someone's home... it was safe, quiet, and spacious - room for four of us to each have a sleeping space. The electrical concerns seemed confusing... low level access and somewhat detailed descriptions for which outlet could be used for which appliance and temperature control. But the kind host was readily available for questions via text and phone chat.

Great Location and Communication

The location is great and close by the West Linn. Communication was excellent! However, entrance to the place is along the side of a home and down stairs. This was not an issue for us, but if you have a challenge with stairs it may be an issue. The inside of the property was clean and they even were kind and left out snacks. The family lives above the property and there was some crossover noise with the kids early in the morning.

Very nice 'pied a terre' for visiting family in the PDX area

We were visiting extended family who live in Lake Oswego so this VRBO was very convenient and fitted our needs (two (very grown) parents and a grown daughter) perfectly. Very nice neighborhood with scenic views from the deck and a useful kitchenette. Seemed quite affordable.
