We stayed here as a large group of friends and family (18 of us ages 2-60) and had the most amazing holiday. The villa is absolutely huge - we still had several bedrooms and bathrooms spare!
The facilities and entertainment on offer are more than adequate - tennis, boules, table tennis, darts, pool table, table football etc and indoors the kitchens are well equipped and the lounge area is big enough to kick back and relax in, and the huge terrace area with its stunning views across the mountains makes for an awesome dining area. The whole property is well maintained and very clean.
There are two pools, a main one and a smaller one. The main pool area with its own bar area is a fantastic place to relax in the sun with a beer or a gin! There is a volleyball net for the main pool which was great fun, but you will need the Top Gun album for full effect!
Roberto, the owner, was very welcoming and clearly takes pride in his property - rightly so. He tells us there are plans to add more facilities in due course, such as a children's play area, crazy golf and a hot tub. He also came and cooked pizzas for us in the wood fired oven one night and arranged someone to cook traditional paella on another.
The only minor criticisms would be that some of the equipment could do with being repaired or replaced - tips for the pool cues, proper darts, the volleyball net needs a repair etc and there was a shortage of large glasses for long drinks - really very minor things!
The village of Sayalonga is as lovely as the villa. Yes, it's a bit of a walk down a steep hill (allow 10 mins to walk down, 20 to walk up - although if you're fit you can halve that). The village square is small but buzzing with life, with very little traffic. There are a handful of bars and restaurants that seemed to have plenty of local and tourist trade. We tended to eat and drink at Mesón Morisco; the food, value for money and staff are incredible - I don't think a bill for two courses and a shameful amount of wine and beer ever came to more than €20 per person. And at the end of the night one of the waiters was always happy to give us a lift back up the hill!
There is a small shop in the village that was perfectly stocked for buying first night supplies, but a trip to the supermarket about 20mins away will be necessary for a proper supply run. Again Roberto offered to assist by taking someone in his van if required.
Amazing holiday... Sayalonga, we will be back!!
