Every detail of our stay here was excellent. This cabin has everything you need for a great vacation on Round Lake. Everything in the cabin was so thought out. Our communication with Judy was excellent! We cannot wait to come back again!

Kingfisher Cabin

Very quiet, peaceful experience! The cabin is super cute and well stocked! The lake is beautiful, and we were super excited to see a Kingfisher in action!

Excellent!

I cannot overstay how great this place is. It is clean the cabins are well equipped, there is isolation but close enough to do things. I love this part of the country and these cabins in particular are the best way to enjoy northern MN.

North woods

Perfect stay in the pristine north woods of Minnesota. Our host Judy was always around to help in any way she could. Beautiful cabin and property that is all extremely well kept.

Peaceful retreat

We had such a wonderful time as a family this week. The location was close enough for day trips to Grand Rapids and Itasca but isolated enough to retreat from everyday life. Thank you Judy for sharing this wonderful property!

Perfect Cabin, Absolutely Lovely Host

What a week of insanely cool sunsets! Judy's property is a private, multi-acre, lake front lot with only a handful of cabins. I hope to go back again for the opportunity to chat with Judy and to continue honing my paddle board "skills"!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the cabin on Round Lake in Squaw Lake! From the moment we arrived, Judy was incredibly welcoming and thorough. She took the time to explain everything about the cabin, share local recommendations, and provide helpful information about sightseeing, activities, and things to do in the area. Her knowledge of the lake and surrounding community made our trip even more enjoyable.We were fortunate to have gorgeous weather during our stay, which allowed us to fully appreciate the beauty of the lake. As an avid fishing family with both children and adults who love to fish, Round Lake and nearby lakes made it a perfect destination. The fishing was excellent, and we spent countless hours enjoying the water, fishing, playing games and making memories together. We also particularly enjoyed Fish Tales, a nearby bar and grill that quickly became one of our favorite spots. With shopping, dining, and local attractions all conveniently nearby, everything we needed was within reach.Overall, this was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The cabin was wonderful, the location was beautiful, and Judy’s hospitality was second to none. We made great memories as a family and cannot wait to return for another stay. Highly recommend!

Truly a get-away in the wilderness with amenities of great hotel

I traveled with a friend and we both found this cabin well-equipped every cooking utensil and pan that we wanted. We received a welcome visit from Judy when we arrived. She made sure we knew where everything was and invited us to ask for anything else we needed. The smores were great and sitting by the dock and on the large deck were great spaces to relax. We highly recommend this place.

Excellent remote property

Great remote secluded quiet property in a beautiful location in northern Minnesota. Property listing is accurate and the host was quick to respond to questions. She truly wants every guest to have a great experience. Our cabin was clean, fun decor and had everything we needed. Weather didn’t cooperate but the cabin had games/tv available for us to use. Highly recommended this property.

Great place for a family vacation!

Perfect place to get away to relax and have fun. We spent most of our time on the water. The kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards were a hit for the kids, along with the beach. We brought our boat and did good fishing. The description of the property is very accurate. It did rain while we were there so we relaxed in the cabin with games and a movie night. This property is perfect for all ages. The smores and wine was a nice touch. We cannot wait to go back next summer!

Great Property - Nice Family!

The cabin was super clean -- spotless! The kitchen is well supplied and we had everything we needed for making meals and grilling. Judy and her family were welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. We like to bike (bicycles) and loved the close proximity to Itasca State Park, Bemidji State Park, The Heartland Trail, The Paul Bunyan Trail and the Mesabi Trail -- We biked all of these -- Itasca and the Mesabi Trail from Grand Rapids to Calumet were our favorites. We also loved seeing the "Lost 40" and using the canoes and kayaks. Thanks for a lovely time and wonderful little cabin.

A great place to get away

It's a beautiful, secluded area right on the shore of Round Lake. Having access to the kayaks, paddleboards and canoes was great. I would rent a boat for more serious fishermen. We happened to be the only ones there, but the private dock, beach, etc. is shared by another rental cabin and the owner's cabin. The cabin is small, but it is just as described and pictured. Very clean. They provided a lot of kitchen items that most do not. Judy is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely visit again.

False advertisement

I was looking for a secluded, lakefront rental to do some writing, swimming, biking, and kayaking. This place was NOT secluded, it was one of a bunch of cabins. I was told by the woman who answered the host's door that the property was lakeVIEW, not lakeFRONT, before getting the door rudely closed in my face. It was not at all as advertised, and while I was very disappointed, I did not yell, curse, raise my voice, or make a scene (the owner accused me of this despite her not even being there). I knocked a second time to ask the woman's name, so I could later say "I spoke to so & so," but she told me she was busy doing her hair and closed the door in my face for the 2nd time. I did not want things to escalate, so I got in my car and drove away. The cabin was not secluded, it was not lakefront, and the owner will not work with you to make things right. I could not stay there, I would not recommend it.

Wonderful stay right on a lake. Excellent host.

We had the most wonderful stay at Judy’s property. The pictures/description are very accurate and if you are looking for a wilderness break, this would be an perfect choice. The hut itself is very well set up for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well equipped to cook at home. The lounge area is spacious with sofas and a smart TV for quiet evenings, watching a film or playing games. There is a great selection of board games. The grounds outside the cabin are beautiful with a seating terrace, jetty out to the water to watch the sunset, and a beach with fire pit. The biggest draw for us was the direct access to the lake, and the boating equipment available for use. There are two canoes, two kayaks, and two paddle boards. We went out nearly every single day to explore the surrounding lake area and were captivated by the wildlife and beautiful scenery. Restaurant options in the immediate area are okay and there was greater choice when we were in Grand Rapids. The local gas station has a decent range of food for a simple meal. We also bought a fishing license here and the staff advised us on the best places to fish. Judy was an excellent host. She provided so much information before our stay and was on hand for any questions. We tried a number of excursions suggested in the information book, including a walk to the Lost 40 woodland and a walk and swim at the Sunken Lake. We would thoroughly recommend this holiday property. Thank you for our perfect stay.

My boyfriend and I had an absolutely amazing getaway! The lake was stunning and the fish were biting! The hosts were so generous and kind, it was comforting that they were available for any questions we had and good company all around! Enjoyable week

We enjoyed our week taking full advantage of the canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. The cabin was as described and communications from the host were really helpful as we prepare for our trip. (I'm glad we had bug spray!)

Stocked to perfection

The cabins are well appointed, done with great care, and stocked with everything one could need. Oil spray, spices, exquisite pots, pans, and baking dishes. Awesome gas grill, paddle board canoes kayaks. Cell tower nearby gives wifi and tv has lots of stream channels. Fish off the dock or down the road. All the Comforts of Home

We enjoyed the cleanliness of the rental, the privacy among other cabins and the scenic view of Round Lake. The dinnerware and cookware were new and all small appliances in good working order. Great layout and decor. Nice shower.
