The Flying Squirrel Lodge--Luxury Lodge Near Raystown Lake and Penn State

Halfway between State College Campus and Raystown Lake. Make the Flying Squirrel Lodge your vacation destination! Start your day w/freshly ground coffee at our coffee bar. Workout in our home gym before going out to explore. Come home to dinner on the grill or in our gourmet kitchen. Later, gather in the Great Room or have a drink at our bar and sing along with the Jukebox (coming late June 2021). Play Ms. Pacman, board games, cards or PS4 in the gameroom. Stargaze and share memories around the firepit. When the day is over fall asleep on luxury bedding, dreaming of tomorrow's adventures.

The Flying Squirrel Lodge has been completely remodeled--everything is new. We've installed hardwood floors on the main level and carpeting and LVT on the stairs and on the lower level. A state-of-the-art heating and air condition system has been added along with a pellet fireplace insert that you will love!

The main level bathrooms have newly tiled showers and floors. Luxury Brooklinen bedding is found on all of the custom-made beds. There are two suites--the spacious Master Suite (which has its own bathroom) and the Loft Suite (which has a large sitting area).

There is new LED lighting throughout. We've built a Laundry Room, with a large-capacity washer and dryer. The home gym includes mirrored walls, a treadmill, exercise bike, and weights.

Each bedroom on the main level (as well as the Loft Suite) has its own 50" wall-mounted flat-screen TV. Additional wall-mounted flat screen TVs can be found in the Great Room (65"), the Bar/Music Room (70"), the Game Room (58") and the Home Gym (43").

Everything in the gourmet kitchen (including all the appliances) is brand new. We've created a coffee bar with a coffee grinder, a drip coffee maker, an espresso machine and a Keurig. The centerpiece of the lodge is the handcrafted 10' x 4' dining table with a live -edge top made from figured sugar-maple.

But that's not all! The Flying Squirrel Lodge is an artisan's paradise--along with the dining table, we have over 30 handcrafted pieces of furniture (most made by host, Dan Berg) and 20 handcrafted chairs. The walls of the lodge are adorned with original artwork by artist, Amy Schade as well as numerous landscape and nature photographs taken by your hosts, Dan and Heidi Berg.

The Bar/Music Room boasts a new Rockola Jukebox. Play one of our pre-made playlists or create your own from the thousands of songs to choose from. Have a sing along or dance the night away!

The Game Room has a big table to play board games--choose from one of the traditional games we have here (Monopoly, Battleship, Clue, etc.) or bring your own. We have a poker set for those who want to play cards. Go for the high score on the Ms. Pacman Arcade Game, which also has several other nostalgic games like DonkeyKong, Space Invaders, Galaga and more. No quarters required! Or challenge someone to a friendly competition on the PS4 gaming console, complete with gaming chairs and headphones.

It's not just the inside of the Flying Squirrel Lodge that is new--we've landscaped the outside and just had a large firepit installed complete with adirondack chairs.
