Historic 12 Bedroom Lodge in the White Mountains

The historic Horse & Hound is a renovated 12-bedroom lodge located in the beautiful White Mountains just down the road from Cannon ski mountain. It sleeps 25 guests and is perfect for large groups and retreats. The 12 upstairs guest rooms are each furnished with local handmade solid maple furniture. Linens and towels are 100% cotton and blankets are 100% Pendleton wool.

Downstairs, you'll find a large living area, cozy but spacious library, tavern, large dining room with furniture from the original inn and 4 half baths. There is also a large chefs/catering kitchen.

The property is 8 acres with a large flat lower lawn that is perfect for lawn games. The lawn is adjacent to a large terrace that includes wicker furniture and cast iron tables and chairs. You can also enjoy the lovely garden with a farm table and charming greenhouse. The upper lawn leads into the forest, where you’ll find historic moss-covered rock walls and towering sugar maple trees. The property is bordered on one side by the magical Tucker Brook. The Horse & Hound also has a large parking lot of plenty of parking.

The Horse & Hound is located at the base of Franconia Notch State Park and is close to many amazing outdoor activities. There are a number of excellent hiking paths only three miles from the lodge and some of the best mountain and road biking in the northeast. Hiking trails can also be reached directly from the property Cannon mountain is just up the road, which you can hike or take the tram in the warmer months. Echo lake sits at its base and has a beach and boat rentals.

The quaint towns of Franconia, Bethlehem and Littleton offer great restaurants, breweries and shops!
