This 1,700 square foot home is a great spot for one or more families or a group of friends, and it features carefully selected coastal Maine decor throughout! On the first floor, you'll find a primary suite with lots of windows and natural light, a comfortable king-sized bed and private en-suite full bathroom. On the second floor, you'll find a second primary suite with a king-sized bed and private en-suite bathroom that includes an inviting clawfoot tub. The cozy second floor is covered in barnwood giving it a warm feel. Back on the first floor, you'll find two additional sleeping areas - a bunk room with a set of king-sized bunk beds and a private sitting room/dressing room/game room that can be entirely closed off for privacy and sleeping. This room's creative sleeping arrangement is perfect for a few children or two couples. All three of these sleeping areas and the living room have heat pumps/mini splits so that the space is conveniently set up for running air conditioning (A/C) or heat for your convenience. Also, excellent 500 mbps fiber optic internet exists throughout the house.
Next to the king-bunk room is a full bathroom with shower and tub en-suite. Finally, for even more sleeping options, a set of twin-sized bunk beds can be found in a cute nook off the first floor common hallway area. Outside on the first-floor back deck, there is a large 10 person outdoor dining table and chairs for enjoying family meals together. Continuing outside, the house also has a gas grill, fire pit w/ firewood, kayaks, paddlesboards, bikes, cornhole, and all in a beautiful wooded setting! You'll also find a fully equipped kitchen for all of your cooking needs, a Roku TV, comfortable living room furniture, great Wifi for working from home, and an eclectic Maine coastal vibe!

There are 1.5 acres of woods surrounding the cottage that you are free to roam! You will have access to 5 kayaks (four adult, one youth), 4 paddle boards, 6 bicycles (four adult, two youth), a back deck with dining table seating 10, bag backyard entertaining area with cornhole, a gas grill, lots of seating, and large fire pit area with wood provided. As guests, you will have the whole house to yourselves. Southwest Harbor is one of the most beautiful towns in Maine and is located right in the heart of Acadia National Park. Watch beautiful sunrises or sunsets over the ocean, hike world-class trails, visit a sand beach, kayak on a tree-lined lake, eat at a classic Maine lobster shack - there are so many amazing adventures on Mount Desert Island!
The house is within walking distance of the Island Explorer bus system's route 7 (Southwest Harbor). The Manset town dock stop in Southwest Harbor is half a mile away and is the closest bus stop. This is an island-wide, free bus system that carries passengers and bikes to various destinations. The bus will stop at any safe location along its route across all of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island.
The house is easy access to the following as well: just over one mile from downtown Southwest Harbor, less than one mile from Cable Crossing Road Beach, less than two miles to Seawall Picnic Area and Beach, three miles to the oceanfront, family friendly hikes of Wonderland and Ship Harbor, and approximately four miles to Bass Harbor Lighthouse. Additionally, the house is a 20 minute drive through the heart of Acadia National Park to downtown Bar Harbor.
There is a locked off storage room with a separate locked entrance on the right side of the house. This is the only space not for guest usage.
