One of the two elevators was broken for the entire stay. It causes back ups up to 30 minutes. Fortunately we used the stairs except the move in and move out. The WIFI was horrible to the point of being unusable.

Bad area - Noisy property - urine on the door

The room itself wasn’t bad, but it was VERY noisy and in a bad part of Myrtle beach. It’s close to things, but overall the area was just ghetto. The pool and “lazy river” weren’t clean, people were playing loud music and shouting all the time and all you could smell is marijuana no matter where you are on the property. (You could still smell it in the room). When we got there, the door was literally open and there was urine on the back of the door. I reached out to the property manager on VRBO’s messaging service twice and heard nothing back. I did the initial survey about the cleanliness of the property and mentioned that the bathroom was disgusting when we got there and never heard anything back. That was before I had even seen the door, so I told them at the front desk about the door and nobody did anything. The sheets also had hair all over them and the towels were stained yellow. I would not stay here again. For the price I paid, you’d expect a nicer area and more prompt responses.

Amazing!!!! Treated like royalty!!!

From the moment my husband and I stepped into the lobby to check in, we were treated with a huge welcome and made to feel special!!! Our room was spacious and spotless, the entire facility was extremely clean....even the pool areas. The bed was comfortable. This resort offered a free breakfast at a close restaurant. Not only was the breakfast delicious, but the wait staff made us feel like were the most special people who graced the restaurant. They did that to all the guests!!!!! It was fun being able to check out a dvd and have popcorn!! I have never given a review like this and we travel a lot. The Carolinian is amazing!!!!! Thank you for making our weekend so special!!!!!!!

Great location but read the description carefully

Having used VRBO numerous times, I did not realize that basic hotel rooms were on there. I've rented condos, apartments and houses. When I saw the listing, I saw kitchen and assumed that it had a kitchen just not fully stocked. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and found only a hotel room. It did have a frig and microwave which were a plus and unit was clean. I will definitely read more carefully in the future now that I know hotel rooms are on VRBO.
