Hi James, it is unfortunate that you felt the need to leave this misleading review after we’ve already discussed this directly. During your stay, you didn’t communicate any issues/concerns to us. Only after your stay had concluded did we receive information about inconveniences, followed by threat of a negative review if a refund was not provided to you. As we clearly communicated from the start, your booking was in October, which is 5 months into our annual rental season. There is bound to be some level of wear and tear on any home after 5 straight months of renters. We are more than happy to ameliorate any issues for our guests but they MUST be communicated to us during the duration of the stay. If you had asked during your stay, we would have sent our PM over immediately. To address your comments directly, we were completely unaware of the broken bed and brick – this must have been done by a previous guest. We are sorry for any discomfort this may have caused, but once again, if you had shared this discovery with us we would have replaced it immediately. We are sorry you did not think the furniture/chairs were up to your standard, however they are exactly as presented in our listing and, as evidenced by all the reviews below, were not an issue for any of our previous guests. In regards to the lock situation, the message you posted is entirely taken out of context. What you failed to include was how we provided instructions to find the physical keys to lock/unlock the doors manually. Even with all the facts presented, we still provided you with a partial refund for your stay as a gesture of good faith. Yet, that appears to not have been enough considering you are continuing to berate us on both the direct VRBO message board and here in the reviews. As you can see from our excellent reviews below, we strive to give our guests the best experience possible and are always attentive in addressing any inconveniences they may have. I hope you are able to take our feedback with you when renting other VRBO properties in the future.

Hi Meg, Thank you for your feedback! We apologize for the back bathroom, as noted prior to your stay the pipes beneath the concrete were damaged by the pool company just a week before the summer began and we did not find out about it until a few weeks into the summer. While the sink and shower did have some issues at the time, the toilet in the back house was 100% operational, so I don't believe that would classify it as "unusable". There are no ventilation problems with the back house and it was fully usable during your stay. You're correct that there is not an AC unit in the back living area, but if the doors to the bedrooms remain open the area cools just fine. As for the beach tags, we explained prior to your stay that we do not provide beach tags because tenants tend to misplace or accidentally take them after their stay. Additionally, there are two hose hookups where you can wash your feet after returning from the beach; one by the back door and one right next to the pool filter. We enjoyed having you as a tenant and hope that you and your family will give our home another chance next year!
