Our place is a super bright, incredibly clean, excellently appointed oceanfront condo with a view you are sure to love! Literally, a 2 minute walk to the beach! This new rental property will be your "go-to" favorite annual trip location. We really wanted to make sure everyone enjoys our special place as much as we do! Enjoy lazy days on the beach and at the pool, drinks on the deck, and exploring the quaint town of Duck. And BYOC (bring your own charcoal) for a nightly cook out in the courtyard area. So much FUN! We know you'll love Colony by the Sea (CBTS) as much as we do. It's a true gem in the Outer Banks! Ours is a first floor, end unit: no elevator, 2 short flights of stairs (building on pilings). We love to cook and entertain so we have a well-stocked kitchen, including basic spices, EVOO, balsamic vinegar and just about every utensil and baking/cooking tool we could think of. BRING YOUR OWN: paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, towels (bath/beach/dish), sheets, pillows, and blankets. There is a coin laundry room for $2 per load (same for wash or dry) under the building if needed (it is kept very clean). TV sets in living room and bedroom with basic cable and streaming capability.

There are not enough superlatives to describe our weekend stay at the Lucky Duck! The condo was immaculate, very cozy, perfectly appointed, and Tracey and Dave were consummate hosts. It was our anniversary and they treated us like royalty…. but I’m sure they make all of their guests feel that way. We are already planning our next visit. Relaxing and Refreshing

The Lucky Duck is clean, comfortable and conveniently located for walks on the beach, boardwalk and into town. The beach is beautiful and was relatively uncrowded the week we went. We had great weather and enjoyed our stay!

Spring Duck Getaway!

My wife and I had a lovely time in Duck and your place was perfect for us. We used the well-stocked kitchen for a few great dinners (fresh fish!). We also enjoyed happy hour on the deck with the ever changing coastal colors. Very convenient to the beach for long walks and close to Duck village. Would definitely stay here again.

Tracey was wonderful to communicate with. She graciously allowed us an early check-in as we were traveling with our one year old. The condo, beach, and pool were magnificent. The kitchen was extremely well appointed with pots, pans, knives, dishes, tupperware that were actually enjoyable to cook with and use. It felt like staying in a well taken care of home, not a rental unit. It would be a no brainer for us to stay here again if we return to OBX in the future.

We have always loved the Outer Banks, Duck & Colony by the Sea (CBTS) specifically, and have spent over 25 years making memories here with our two sons, and various combinations of family and friends. Some longtime VA friends of ours purchased a CBTS condo (104A two doors down) in 2013 and we finally decided it was time for us to do the same. We could not be happier with our decision. We are so excited and can't wait to continue making memories here! And we can't wait for YOU to make memories here too!!!

We purchased our condo from a lovely, original CBTS owner. She was moving on to her next chapter, and so were we! We completely renovated and refreshed this property. Everything is new: windows, sliding door, kitchen, stove, dishwasher, cabinets, showers, vanities, toilets, floors, front door, furniture, and paint! Lots of planning and sweat equity, but the finished condo is truly amazing. And we hope our guests will enjoy it as much as we do! It's a very special place to us, and we want everyone to feel at home.

Important note: WE DO NOT ALLOW GUESTS TO BRING PETS OF ANY KIND, even service animals. We feel this is the best way to ensure our property and the furnishings/contents stay in the best condition possible. So, please, leave your pets at home. We take this rule very seriously, and will be notified if there is a pet in our condo. This will lead to your vacation being cut short, without a refund. And no one wants all that drama while on vacation.

Full disclosure: We do love dogs and have 2 ourselves, and they will sometimes be at the condo with us, but they do NOT get on the furniture or sleep in the bed with us, even at our home. They stay on the floor and in their own doggie beds. I just wanted to disclose that should anyone have serious allergies and need to know.

We fell in love with this condo and knew its potential from the start. It is a first floor, end unit with a large, extra window in the kitchen that lets in lots of natural light. There is a view of the CBTS swimming pool from the deck, perfect for watching the kids. You can get down on the beach in literally 2 minutes, and the outdoor grill area is right next to our unit. Since it's on the end, it's also out of the regular stairway "traffic pattern" for the other guests staying in building A. It's tucked away at the end on its own. And you can even see your parked car from outside the front door.
