The primary reason for the low score is: We had an issue with the stove the first morning while cooking breakfast. While we were cooking the glass stove top began to crack with the heat. As it cooled down it continued to crack. We called the owner as soon as we realized it was happening and reported the problem. We were unable to use the stove for the remainder of our stay as we had planned. There was no indication during our phone call that we would be blamed for the stove top cracking. A week later I notice an 1150 dollar charge on my card from VRBO for the repair of the stove. Repeated attempts were made but the owner refused to discuss it with me. He claimed to VRBO that we dropped something on the stove but that is simply not true. If something was dropped it was prior to our arrival.The property was also described as 2 bath but the water was turned off to the hall shower during our stay. We didn’t report this and just lived with it because at the time we didn’t want to further bother the owner. Now, with the issue with damage claim, I wish I had. We have stayed at rentals like this for 20 years and never had a problem. We always take care of places we stay and have never thought we would have an issue like this. This experience makes me question future rentals through VRBO because there was no attempt to get any info from us, just an 1150 charge. The property is nice, but I cannot recommend it due to the false claim and lack of communication regarding it.
