Deep Woods Escape is like being at your own private luxury resort that is surrounded by nature and only 7 miles from town. This 4500 sq ft spacious cabin is nothing short of breathtaking with a touch of modern mixed and unique rustic detail, it is country sophistication at its best! So MANY activities for every season.

Take relaxing soak in the hot tub, splash in the 40' heated pool, unwind with a drink at the indoor or outdoor bar, snuggle up by the fireplace, roast smores or tell ghost stories at the outdoor firepit, sit on one of the many decks or patios drinking coffee and watching the sunrise or listen to the pure enjoyment coming from your friends, family, kids, grand kids or co-workers. Play ping pong, billiards pool, horseshoes, washers, sand volleyball or one of the many board or card games. Blast your favorite song on the Sonos wifi speaker system (yes, I said blast the only people you are going to bother are the ones in group).

Your own private resort

We were an extended family (infants to adults) getting together for a long weekend. The house is exactly as described and as the pictures show. The absolute best VRBO home we have ever stayed in! The house includes everything you may ever need and would have to go buy at other rentals. The space was ample and we were all able to sleep comfortably in a bed or a rollaway bed provided. There are plenty of towels for the pool and hot tub. We spent so much time outside in the back yard swimming, grilling and sitting around the fire in the evenings enjoying smores. This is the best private resort for total relaxation! We will be back!

As always - amazing family vacation

This was our fifth year renting from Emma, and our first time staying at the Deep Woods Escape — and all we can say is WOW. This home is nothing short of incredible. For the first time, we had a dining table large enough to fit our whole group, which made mealtimes feel extra special. The "dorm" room in the basement was a huge hit with our family. Everyone who stayed there raved about how cozy and private it felt — once you were in your nook, it was easy to forget anyone else was even in the room. It was the perfect solution to finally ditch the air mattresses! The outdoor space was equally amazing. We gathered around the fire pit every single night, even in the middle of July — it was such a memorable way to end each day. Emma always thinks of everything, and this house was no exception. From a well-stocked kitchen to an abundance of pool towels, we had everything we needed for a relaxing and fun getaway. With daily (and nightly!) swimming, those towels were key! All in all, another fantastic vacation thanks to Emma. We can’t wait to come back!

Amazing As Always

This stay was just as amazing as the first year when it was completed and done. We were expected to see some wear and tear from the past two years but we didn't notice anything. It was perfect! The cleaning and grounds crew do an amazing job taking care of the place and Emma makes sure you feel right at home.

Extraordinary Stay at Bauman's Deep Woods Escape

This house goes way above and beyond for comfort and charm! Everything was top-notch from the welcoming charcuterie board with local meats and cheeses to the outside tiki bar. Especially liked that our group of 13 could all sit at the dining table and enjoy our meals together. So many extras were provided: grill, smoker and wine refrigerator in the tiki bar, a large, covered outdoor pool, sand volleyball court, pool table and ping pong table and so much more! Our group loved staying here so much that we never left the property over the long eclipse weekend. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend staying at Bauman's Deep Woods Escape!

Beautiful home!

We booked for a long Girls weekend and we couldn't have been happier with the property and amenities. The location and home are beautiful and so well equipped. We literally couldn't have asked for anything more while we were there. Emma met us on site and went over all the details. She was wonderful to work with. If you are coming to the area I highly recommend!! Also check out the Trolley for the winery tour while you are here. Our long weekend was perfect and complete with fires, smores and memories!

Back in the Woods

The 11 of us had an incredible long weekend! The house lived up to all the hype even though the weather didn’t cooperate! Hot tub, pool, smoker, incredible kitchen, pool and ping pong, etx! Perfect home for family bonding!

We had an incredible time at the Deep Woods Escape! the home was spacious, clean and loaded with extras. Our family really enjoyed all of the home…we played sand volleyball, swam, made s’mores at the fire and did evenings in the hot tub. The inside was equally impressive. The bunk room was great for the kids and they loved playing pool and ping pong in the lower level. We made so many great memories we will cherish! Birthday weekend

We stayed at the property for a long weekend for my 30th birthday celebration in February. Emma was amazing to work with! From greeting us and showing us all the ins and outs of the place beforehand so we had minimal to zero questions through the weekend to letting us text/call with any issues. The heated pool and hot tub were clean and perfect even during the cold weather. All the rooms and bathrooms were clean and had everything you wanted in them. The outdoor kitchen and grill were amazing to have and we used a lot. The place has everything you could need and want for a weekend away to relax and have fun. We are looking forward to another trip!

Excellent!

Our family of 13 fit into this home like a glove! Plenty of together time at the gigantic kitchen table and living room, and plenty of time to be off on our own to read & relax on the front porch, back porch, game room, outdoor kitchen or pool. We got lucky with the weather and swam every day as a group with plenty of pool toys for all. The babies & 3-yr-olds were worn out at days end! Also watched a beautiful storm move through from the large, comfortable back porch. The owners are wonderful!!

Excellent Experience!!

From the start of booking, Emma worked one on one with me to make sure we had the best experience possible. We had a group of girls for a bachelorette and every person had endless compliments about the house and overall experience while being there. Being a group of girls, we were "over prepared" with what we thought we would need but it turns out Emma is just as prepared plus some!! The house had absolutely everything you could think of needing plus more. The house is also so beautiful with so many activities that we were scared we wouldn't be able to enjoy each location enough in just a weekend's time! Will definitely be booking again and look forward to working with Jemma Properties again in the future!!

Family Christmas

We held our family Christmas here. 13 people, 7 adults and 6 children. We spent 6 days here. People played pool, ping pong, games, swam and we grilled outside. This house has everything you would in your own home! One day I hosted our huge family gathering of 40+people, plenty of room, it was nice outside and inside and once again everything is provided at the house. I would recommend this house to everyone. Great

We have stayed at this property for several years now. It’s beautiful it’s clean. They show you how to turn everything on and everything off. What the Ladd girls like best about it, fits us perfectly, there’s plenty of places for everybody to sleep. We love having the private pool right there that we can just walk down to not have to share one with a bunch of other people I can’t rave enough how we really really enjoy staying there. Rang in 2025 in Deep Woods Bliss

This house was beyond expectations. The host was so attentive when needed and the little details made us feel so welcomed. We had a group of 16 ages ranging 9 to old.. when we entered the home there was a snack tray, s'mores box, and Shirley temples for our group. Dance party music was playing on the speakers throughout the house. ( This was targeted towards our kid/teens which we requested) The kids had their own bunk room that holds 9. The house was so clean and has everything you can imagine. We used every square foot of this house. The hot tub and pool were used from sun up to sun down. We had pool tournaments and ping pong tournament. We had a warm fire and s'mores on the outdoor patio. We were all able to cook and share meals sitting at the same table together. We rang in the new year all gathered in the huge living room. We could not have asked for a better time.

Perfect Getaway

This property was just recently constructed. Everything in it is state of the art, top notch! The photos on the listing are a bit out dated and do not show all there is to offer here. It is even BETTER than the listing describes and the photos depict. We had a group of 4 families with 17 of us total ranging in ages from 18 months to 45 years old. This place was PERFECT! It was even baby proofed and had everything we needed for the 18 month old! This house had everything you could ever want or need. Everything was clearly labeled and there were ample supplies for our large group. We ventured downtown one day and checked out The City Museum which was great for the kids. We visited the Arch, took in a baseball game and toured the Bonne Terre Mine which were all fun to do. Overall, this was a great trip and we will definitely be back!

Great place to call home for a few days...with a large group!

Our large family (30+) spread out over both properties recently. Each property was clean, well-supplied, the kitchens were organized and even the drawers labeled. Every need was throughtfully anticipated and our large family enjoyed our stay immensely. It's a delightful place with many activities set up and available for immediate use - like the swimming pool, sand volleyball court, even sprayers to keep you cool on hot days alongside the pool, billiards and pingpong tables, games - you get my drift. Anna and her crew did a great job preparing for our visit. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The beds were very comfy. The log construction on the interior of the home is beautiful, and the entire property is welcoming and comfortable. Anna was available when needed via text or phone, and greeted us when we arrived and familiarized us with the property. The industrial-sized stove and TWO dishwashers also came in handy with our large crew. The downstairs bunk room was great fun for adults and children alike, and the smoker and grill + the beautiful poolside kitchen were great to use. PS The coffee was really good too! We will be back!

Perfect Staycation!!!

We planned our First Christmas Staycation at this beautiful property for 8 adults and 8 children (from 1 - 16)! This place is the best ever!!! Upon arrival, I was greeted by Joe whom was very accommodating and personable and showed me around to explain all of the extra special amenities! We certainly enjoyed the Sonos Music System as well as the locally made sausage, garlic cheese and wine! What a nice surprise! We had more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable! We stayed for 3 nights and everything was perfect!! The amenities that are provided by Emma and Joe are absolutely second to none as there was nothing that they didn’t provide!! Thank you for decorating for Christmas as it was extra special for us The entire property, inside and out were well equipped and super clean! We all enjoyed not only the home but the outdoor area with hot tub, fire pit, outdoor kitchen, sand play area, horse shoes and of course the glorious covered and heated swimming pool … everything was awesome! There was so much at our “resort” that kept everyone entertained including the pool table and ping pong inside as well as all of the games provided! I would highly recommend this awesome experience to anyone that is looking for PERFECTION for your next get away, this is the place! Hats off to you both Emma and Joe, for providing the perfect Staycation Experience! We enjoyed it immensely and hope to return again next year as it is centrally located for all of our immediate family!!

Super Bowl weekend

We stayed with a group of friends over the superbowl weekend. We have stayed here before and we loved it just as much the second time as we did the first.
