Dear Joni, We are surprised and disappointed by your review. In short term rentals, its all about no surprises for guests and hosts. A good experience requires input from both.We went beyond our usual process of preparing for your holiday trip. Over 10 years hosting, we've received helpful feedback that has helped us offer good experiences. Most often poor reviews usually result from 2 things.. The first is to realize before renting if you are renting a rent-only space or an owner-occupied space. We are the latter. As such, we do not move out of the house but make room for guests. This includes 90% clean out of fridge, putting extra toiletries out, pointing to refresh on towels, etc. As you were staying 5 days with is longer than most of our guests, we also shared the laundry room & made room in pantry. We emphasized to just ask if you had any other needs during your stay. The second observation, more importantly, is about communication. It seemed to be great before your arrival- we provided recommendations, decorated for you, & get space ready. But starting at arrival there was little communication from you. Maybe with your late arrival we were rushed checkin walkthrough w/ you. With all guests we emphasize just message us anytime if you need anything. We're not a dump & run kind of host. We checked daily if you needed anything (heat, kitchen, etc), but you seemed to want no contact. Given these correctable points, we could've offered you a better experience.
